Michelle Obama: 'I rarely

First lady Michelle Obama says she stays out of the way of most of her husband's work, trusting the president's advisers to counsel him on policy issues. "I rarely step foot in the West Wing. In fact people are shocked when they see me there," she said in an interview with ABC News's Cynthia McFadden set to air Monday. "I rarely walk in that office because the truth is he's got so many wonderful advisers. He's got a phenomenal cabinet. He's got people who are in the trenches on these issues every single day and I'm kind of stepping

Maybe. But I bet her voice will carry that far.

She doesn't even know how to get to the West Wing by herself! She needs a tour guide to lead her there! That's because she's always out working in the White House garden, planting, watering, and weeding her vegetables. And did we mention how campaign events totally interfere with her harvest schedule?

Shouldn't that be "hoof"?

~~Obama said she and the president strive to keep work out of their family life. "One of the things that Barack and I try to do in our lives which I think is one of the reasons our family is so whole, is that we make sure family is family -- it's not this sort of quasi-business relationship," she said. "We're two people who love each other and put a lot of our energy into our kids and into our family unit."
And, yet again, Obama explained why, despite her reticence to be thrust into the political spotlight, she agreed to be part of the 2008 campaign.

Barf!

Right, everybody advising Zero is just so wonderful and phenomenal, that's why this is the worst presidency in history.

If she did set foot in the West Wing, the next thing we'd see is a bunch of archaelogists making plaster casts of the sasquatch footprints she left behind.

Reply 9 - Posted by: Hobbitmom, 10/8/2012 2:22:43 PM     (No. 8918393)

I hear what she's saying. But I see how the Obamas (as a couple and as a family) look and interact when they're together, which they must know is being photographed or filmed, since these are definite photo-ops. Based on that, I have to say, that's not what I see. I can see and make my own decisions about these liars. The First Mooch is free to bloviate until she turns blue, which, of course, will go so nicely with her husband's purple lips. Such a fashionista, that miserable looking creature!

Moochie must have seen that new TV show "Scandal". Doesn't want to be compared to the egotistical wife of the President that cleverly manipulates his foreign policy and other issues. Plus my bet is she rarely steps foot in that fabulous vegetable garden of hers too. The only thing she loves stepping foot in is a fitting room at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Just a grammatical point to this otherwise worthless article, but when did we stop 'setting foot' into..... and begin 'stepping foot' into? You either set foot into or you step into. I know - who cares?

Well, I'm sure her BFF ValJar comes running up to her to give her all the latest. Then, ValJar goes back to the West Wing to relay how many billions are needed to keep those obese Americans on a diet.

He spends most of his time in another "office" on the second Residence floor. ValJar's special office suite is there, too. There is NO power in the West Wing.

Read Leading From Behind by Richard Miniter. He launches into the influence of ValJar, Michelle and Hillary on little Obie on Page One, as I recall, and describes each in detail.

"Let´s face facts: the American media is in an abusive relationship with Obama." So marvelously said Dennis Miller on Fox New´s the O´Reilly Factor in a discussion about the Internal Revenue Service scandal Wednesday (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary): DENNIS MILLER: Nobody in the press is going to bear in on this. Let´s face facts: the American media is in an abusive relationship with Obama. They don´t quite know what to do. If you take the New York Times, you could refer to it as "Fifty Shades of Grey Lady."

On Wednesday, CNN anchor Jake Tapper dug into the controversial way in which members of President Barack Obama’s administration have apparently tried to intimidate whistleblowers in the government and the journalists that would investigate their stories. Tapper said that some, including the New York Times editorial board, have described the administration’s actions as “threatening fundamental freedoms of the press.” He warned Obama’s supporters to remember the precedent his administration is setting when a Republican next occupies the Oval Office. Tapper noted that the scandal surrounding the subpoenaing of Fox News reporter James Rosen’s personal telephone and email

Even though 132 members of Congress sent former Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Douglas Shulman letters about the IRS targeting of conservative groups, Shulman reiterated Wednesday that he did not have the full story until the inspector general’s report came out. “In the two years that this targeting was taking place, did any member of Congress contact you? Write you? About this particular subject? Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan asked during a House Oversight hearing. “Did you get letters from Congress?”

The chief judge of the District’s federal court issued an unusual order Wednesday, apologizing to the public and the media for not making certain court documents widely available online. The gesture of transparency by U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth comes at a time when the Obama administration is under scrutiny for an unprecedented number of leak investigations, including one showing that the Justice Department had secretly probed the news-gathering activities of Fox News reporter James Rosen. The investigation of Rosen was first reported Monday, after The Washington

In some other universe this would be shocking. In this universe it’s par for the course, and I don’t mean the golf course, but the guy who makes the golf course his second home. The US Attorney for the District of Columbia, Ronald C. Machen – the man responsible for the aggressive surveillance and phone record scrutiny at Fox News – is also a big donor to the Obama Campaigns. At the time of his appointment, the Washington Post wrote a profile on Machen including this tidbit: Over the years, he has donated $4,350 to Obama’s campaigns.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
