Obama Derangement Syndrome
Chicago Tribune (IL), by Eric Zorn

Original Article

Posted By:Scottyboy, 10/8/2012 10:15:40 AM

On another thread, one of the regular conservative commenters here whom I consider to be generally thoughtful let fly with this blast of gas about President Obama: He has been incompetence personified...Obama has been an abject failure. What is this? Pre-election insanity, fear and frenzy seizing control of otherwise sensible individuals? Reasonable Republicans suddenly channeling the angry, paranoia of their party's fringe? It's sad and a little scary. I'm not saying there aren't reasons to support Romney over Obama and not reasons to be disappointed in Obama.

Comments:
So Zorn thinks conservatives are way off base for calling 0bama an incompetent failure and proves his point by noting that Barry 0. was "successful" in foisting 0bamacare and the stimulus on America.
The left is losing it BIG TIME.

They just can't see it, because to do so would bring everything they believe tumbling down around them.

It is not a matter of Politics anymore. This is Faith. For the diehards, we are dealing with Religion, and we would do well to bear that in mind.

Notice how Zorn knocks off the 'derangement syndrome' phrase? Just like how obama's Chinese donors fund his campaign by knocking off American products and intellectual property.

However, the Chicoms won't knock off anything Zorn does. He's far from an intellectual, and they have standards too.

Any criticism of Obama is considered derangement or racism by Obama adherents.

They have more projection than a 100 screen multiplex theater.

It's laughable for Obama to claim credit for either ObamaCare or the stimulus bill. On both pieces of legislation, he simply delegated the input, the concepts, the writing of the bills to the lefty Congressional staffers, directed by Pelosi and Harry Reid.

About all Obama had to do with those bills was promoting them ceaselessly by insisting, "There's no time to waste! We must get this legislation passed immediately! Americans are depending on it!"

Obie did make sure that $billions from the stimulus bill were doled out to the "bundlers" who had contributed $millions to his campaign.

Derangement suggests an overreactive response to something that results in harm to oneself/one's nation.

In the case of leftist antiwar lunatics who had no problems calling a good, decent man like Bush, "Hitler" and undermining whatever little good that Bush tried to do for the Middle East, they were rightly diagnosed with Bush Derangement Syndrome; they were so hateful that they were not above fantasizing on violent death on a sitting US president whose political beliefs they did not like. Their vitriolic rage poisoned the well for bipartisan cooperation and hurt the country for a very long time

On the conservative side, no one is calling for Obama's death merely for his accounting for the many unmitigated disasters in domestic and foreign policies. Trying to defeat a destructively clueless president in an election isn't derangement; it is Democracy.

When Obama-complicit media types start acting like Obama in mocking their opposition in personal attacks rather than reasonable debate on issues, you know that it is these people who has lost mental equilibrium and it is an indication that they are in a panic mode now the Obama has turned out to be such a phony.

A non-original idea. AS someone else pointed out, this was Bush Derangement syndrome back in 04. ROmney can actually point out to massive failures of Obama (not that Bush was anywhere near perfect). Zorn is a Obama boot licker.

Barack Obama got quite the handful on Thursday, April 10, but it was all for a good cause! As the President of the United States was boarding Air Force One with his wife Michelle Obama, a gust of wind blew up her skirt. Barack quickly stepped in and grabbed the First Lady´s billowing skirt to help her avoid a wardrobe malfunction and embarrassing Marilyn Monroe moment. Earlier in the week, another famous lady on the global stage suffered a similar snafu, but no one was around to help her -- not even her prince!

Global warming is not being taken seriously and time is running out to avoid consequences like flooded cities and dried out farmland, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim said Thursday. "We are quickly coming to the point where we are not going to be able to keep global warming below two degrees Celsius," Kim said at the start of the IMF-World Bank spring meetings in Washington. "Warming by two degrees Celsius is going to have major implications.... 40 percent of the arable land in Africa will be gone at two degrees Celsius; Bangkok could very well be underwater at two

It was a busy Saturday afternoon at Penn Square and this was happening up on the second floor in front of a growing crowd. A woman, accused of shoplifting, now topless and wrestling with security on the ground. Her bare chest exposed to everyone who walks by. Almost immediately people start getting out their cell phones and capturing the shirtless showdown including the person who captured this video you´re watching. The man who shot this cell phone video walked out of Dillards and immediately saw a nearly naked brawl between a topless woman and a mall security guard. Witnesses say the security officer called

An autopsy on Peaches Geldof was inconclusive and toxicology tests will be conducted in an attempt to determine what killed the 25-year-old celebrity, police said Wednesday. Geldof was pronounced dead by paramedics at her home in southeast England on Monday. Kent Police said a post-mortem examination had not revealed the cause and a toxicology report could take several weeks. Geldof, the daughter of Irish musician Bob Geldof and the late TV presenter Paula Yates, had worked as a model, writer and television show host. She grew up in the glare of Britain´s press, which reveled in the late-night antics of her teenage years, and

The President is no economic illiterate, despite what conservatives think. He understands basic macroeconomics just fine, thank you – but with a twist. Mainstream Democrats worship at the altar of the New Deal. It’s an article of faith that massive government spending pulled America out of the Great Depression. (With all respect to Paul Krugman, the truth is more complicated, but that’s not within the scope of this article.)The president’s view of spending, deficits and debt is not merely Keynesian theory run amok. Its origins and objectives are far more terrifying. Where the traditional Democratic playbook for economic downturns was provided

WASHINGTON — About the only thing former President Ronald Reagan doesn´t have named after him is a mountain, not one recognized by the federal government anyway.(snip)Rep. Jared Huffman, D-Calif., said he thought DeFazio´s amendment was "terrific" but wanted to take it a step further and name the planet after Reagan. "We may want to consider going big with this Reagan-naming enthusiasm," Huffman said. "I´m beginning to see some possibilities in this." Huffman said his reasoning was that if the planet were named after Reagan, then Republicans might be more concerned with taking up legislation dealing with global warming.

A majority of Americans believe that President Barack Obama’s signature health care law will be repealed. A new Rasmussen Reports poll found that 62 percent of likely voters believe that Republicans will repeal Obamacare, which recently marked its fourth anniversary. Only 23 percent of those polled believe that the health care law has been a success, compared to 46 percent who describe the law as a failure. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a potential 2016 presidential candidate, offered a Republican alternative to Obama’s health care overhaul last week, saying states should play a greater role in containing health care costs while

Like him or hate him, there is no disputing that Rush Limbaugh’s very special brand of mixing right-wing politics with his flare for entertainment has produced one of the most successful radio programs in the medium’s long history. Whatever the burning political question of the day, millions of Americans have relished the opportunity to tune into Rush’s program, knowing that he would quickly take that hot potato, throw a few gallons of verbal kerosene into the mix and elevate the matter into a five alarm fire with a just a few well-chosen words spoken in the style only Rush Limbaugh could

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." After expressing how impressed he was with the tribute, he said somberly, "let me say to those ´quote survivors,´ my God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it. I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

I live in Las Vegas. I live and breath Nevada politics. Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert. And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it. I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No
