There is a method to Leftist madness. They think that by humbling America they will win friends and influence people to love America. The remarkable split in Leftist ideology is between malignant hate and loathing of domestic political opponents, and a pathetic cri du coeur to the love and affection of foreign peoples, including dedicated enemies of America. Leftists worry constantly about what "the rest of the world" thinks and feels about America. He is doing the same thing in Afghanistan. We are no longer training the locals. No more joint patrols, just American patrols with ridiculous rules of engagement. When Obama retreats by the 2014 deadline we will leave untrained Afghans with no support. It will be another Iraq.
