| A trio of high-profile UW-Madison professors went public Wednesday with concerns about President Barack Obama's planned Thursday campaign rally, saying students who want to attend are unfairly being required to supply a phone number and email address to the campaign, even having to click "I'm In" to get a free ticket at the campaign's website. "If you want to go to this hugely important and interesting event you have to register with the campaign," said political science professor Donald Downs. "That raises questions." Downs was joined by law professor Ann Althouse and political science professor Ken Mayer

Comments: Don't know about "this hugely important and interesting event", but it's nice to know that these lib poly sci professors have "questions" about Obie's tactics.

These professors have lodged a number of complaints other than the collection of phone numbers and email addresses.
The school will be paid $15,000 for the premises plus some minimal fees for setup. But:
Police and other public safety costs will be borne by taxpayers. For the 2010 visit, those costs added up to about $260,000.
And because the campus was effectively shut down for the day, staffers had to take the day off and make up the time later.

This is nothing new. Obama began his career indoctrinating children along with Bill Ayres.

U Wisconsin, so I'm told, has a stellar reputation, but I watched zombie after zombified student shuffling into hear Mr. Eye Candy and every one said to the interviewer they thought it was unfair the eye candy man couldn't have his teleprompter for the debate - my question is, what do those young people - [university students] understand by the term debate?

I haven't seen the referenced letter, but I suspect [and hope] the characterization of the blatant Obama arm-twisting as "unfair" is his, not the professors'.
"Unfairness" isn't the problem. Arrogance and intrusiveness are the problems. Yes, it's a pro-Obama function, but they sought out the university location, and the university agreed. It is disingenuous for university administrators to deny [let's call it] a "sense of association" [too subtle and complex to explore here]. The admins should absolutely have insisted on a much more arm's-length approach from the campaign.
FTA: Vince Sweeney, vice chancellor for university relations, said the university takes the concerns seriously.... [and] "We don't manage the (Obama) link, we're not collecting that information, and ultimately if it's a problem for those wishing to attend, it's an individual decision" whether or not to provide an email address and phone number.
Right. Sure, Vince. Sure.
FTA: University staffers in buildings shut down by Thursday's event were encouraged by administrators to take a vacation or personal day, rearrange their hours before and after Thursday to make up for lost hours or work from home or a different location, Sweeney said.
There it is. "L'etat, c'est moi."

#7, I don't think Althouse is 'on our side'. Last week she had some pretty ugly posts complaining about the Obama phone lady, and the 2007 Obama video from last week. I fear her emotion based/white guilt liberalism will have her voting for Obama.

No surprise here. You'll need to log into Facebook to download Obama's faked birth certificate file from the whitehouse.gov website. Think about the implications of that!
Obama and his operatives run the most filthy administration ever.

Gen. John Allen has been appointed special U.S. envoy on security issues in negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. He will not mediate between the parties; his work will almost exclusively involve contacts with Israel. Allen will deal with the U.S. position on Israeli security needs and the security arrangements that would accompany the establishment of a future Palestinian state. Senior U.S. and Israeli officials note that while U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel made the appointment it was coordinated with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who is leading the effort to restart Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
