Press corps is M.I.A.
at Obama rally

Washington Post, by David Nakamura

MADISON, Wisc. – It’s the kind of rally the Obama campaign wanted to show off to the world: a crowd of 30,000 students showing up for President Obama on a quadrangle on the leafy University of Wisconsin campus. But a day after Obama’s lackluster debate performance, the president’s bad fortune continued: Though the crowd and the president showed up, the national press corps did not. Because of a mix-up at the Denver airport, the press corps’ charter plane was delayed about half an hour en route to Madison, Wis., and failed to arrive on time.

Comments:
Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck.

(And I don't believe there were 30,000 there, either.)

Either they are incompetent or there is a mole in the Obammunist's event office.

All that styrofoam and no one to show it off to.

I'm surprised the lsm didn't just accept a photo from the won's campaign. Of course, getting a picture of a crow of 30,000 is hard to do without a crowd of 30,000.

Reply 5 - Posted by: ccprops, 10/6/2012 2:28:40 PM     (No. 8914475)

Well, if the press corpse didn't cover it, then it didn't happen. No great loss.

Good one # 5.

My thinking is that it does not matter where the LSM is.

They already have the WH e-mail:

Talking point 1 - Romney is a liar.
Talking point 2 - Obama is king.

Any other questions, see above.

Reply 7 - Posted by: offrope, 10/6/2012 2:44:54 PM     (No. 8914497)

Why should it matter that the press was not there? Their stories would be written before the event anyway.

How convenient. Helped big time with the inflated attendance numbers.

They shut all classes down. Told teachers to take day off and "recommended" students attend... Not hard with a captive audience..

Reply 10 - Posted by: oriton, 10/6/2012 3:02:14 PM     (No. 8914521)

obit did his own version of the empty chair. He talked trash to Romney by saying things he couldn't think on his feet to say during the debate. It's easy to talk trash to the enemy when the enemy has left the building; much harder to talk trash when the enemy is kicking your backside. All over the stage! That's why obit turned around when he heard the noise back stage at the debate. He thought that it was the sound of his butt being slammed up against the wall. Did you see the look of relief on his face when he realized his butt was still behind him? Tee hee! Sorry guys, but I'm still on a high from the debate. As my granny used to say, that was good to me!

Don't know why zero bothered to take the time with a crowd who apparently were such geniuses that they thought it was unfair that he didn't have a teleprompter in the debate. They obviously are too stupid to be anything but liberals.

Reply 12 - Posted by: conspicio, 10/6/2012 3:30:38 PM     (No. 8914560)

Remember that bourgeoisie "corporate jet" line from the debate? Guess who flies non-commercial everywhere on the campaign trail??

For those who do not know, on the campaign trail, no plebian press person has to endure TSA. Anywhere. Ever. Simply that the bus is mystically cleared onto the ramp for them to board their privately chartered aircraft.

These people lick the text message they get from the Obama campaign. They bribe students with extra credit for attending Obama events.

If the Obama crew ever thought that Obama really had that place in the bag this year, Obama would never have gone there. Just like always, the Obama crew can call off an attendance number and the liberal media will run with whatever number the Obama crew throws out there.

Madison has approximately 40,000 students.

Are we to believe that 75% of them signed up to see Obama?

What nonsense.

Grief and politics don´t mix. When raw, aching grief and the dirtiest kind of politics meet, a hot volcano of pain and outrage erupts that is unstoppable. But it is necessary.(Snip)before Benghazi, there was Extortion 17, the call sign of a special operations mission in Afghanistan on Aug. 6, 2011. Three months after the strike on Osama bin Laden, 30 Americans -- including 15 from the bin Laden strike-team unit, Navy SEAL Team 6, and two other SEALs -- were killed in the costliest single-day loss for the U.S. military in the Afghanistan war, and the largest SEAL loss

A faulty steering apparatus may bring an early end to NASA’s Kepler space telescope, a $600 million tool in the space agency’s quest for life elsewhere in the universe. Kepler is the first NASA mission capable of finding Earth-size planets in or near the habitable zone, the range of distance from a star where the surface temperature of an orbiting planet might be suitable for liquid water. Launched in 2009, it has discovered thousands of such planets, including a pair just 1,200 light years away.(Snip) But yesterday, Kepler’s mission ran into trouble.

The Internal Revenue Service last year supplied a left-leaning nonprofit charity with confidential information about conservative organizations, which the charity disseminated to the public, ProPublica reported yesterday. The charity in question was ProPublica itself. We should acknowledge that "left-leaning" is our characterization; ProPublica describes itself in its own tax filings as "entirely non-partisan and non-ideological." ProPublica is legally obliged to be nonpartisan, for it enjoys tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, which means that contributions to it are tax-deductible.

If it is proven that the IRS thwarted some groups from obtaining tax-exempt status in fear that their traditional or conservative messages might hurt the 2012 Obama campaign (especially if it did so under pressure from White House-affiliated operatives), and if it is proven that the Obama administration deliberately ignored warnings about lax security at the Benghazi consulate, missed real opportunities to send help, or deliberately massaged intelligence reports in order to mislead the pre-election public about the true nature of Benghazi in order to further a false campaign narrative of a near dormant al-Qaeda

IS CONSERVATIVE THE new radical? The fashion world certainly seems to think so. This season, designers filled their runways with restrained silhouettes that echo the graceful, showing-less-is-more aesthetic of generations past. Designers are reimagining soignée staples for spring and summer—skirt suits, twin sets, below-the-knee dresses, kitten heels and frame bags—that appear anything but moth-eaten. In fact, fashion´s neoconservative coup d´état feels deliciously defiant, given the excessively revealing styles pop culture celebrates. A quick flip through any supermarket tabloid yields an

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home.
