| Amman - Thousands of Jordanian Islamists marched on Friday in the largest demonstration since Arab Spring-inspired protests erupted last year, calling on King Abdullah to accelerate democratic reforms. At least 15,000 protesters from across the country flocked to the main street leading to the Husseini mosque in downtown Amman after Friday prayers and chanted: "Listen Abdullah, our demands are legitimate" and "People want to reform the regime." (Snip) The "Friday to Rescue the Nation" rally was called by the Muslim Brotherhood, the largest opposition party, to push for broader representation and a more democratic parliament.

They make 15,000 sound like a big deal, but in most places that's not even a respectable soccer match attendance. The muslim brotherhood is in bed with American leftists. They have joined forces to wage war against the West. Remember when the Ayerses were in Egypt to help whip up support for the running of the Israeli blockade? Hope the FBI has been keeping tabs on them. Nothing else to do while they waited for their Libya visas.

We had 1000+ Jordanian "Soldiers" at our FOB
in East Asscrackistan. Much closer to being our friends than the half starved rabid locals. We have had pretty good ties with Jordan. Hate to see that vanish.

The Brothers were hoping for 50,000. It's a good sign they missed but they won't give up. They want to depose the king. Is Obama even aware of this?

Like #3, dealt with Jordanian military. Usually, very smart, top of the line guys.
It made me remember one incident when we escorted an AF officer around certain southeastern US states.
He purchased 500 SUV like vehicles (no names please). How did he pay you ask? He pulled out his Royal Checkbook and wrote a check for the SUV's, shipping and a team of technicians/mechanics to fly over and take delivery when the load arrived at port.
That was his smallest purchase on that trip. Bottomless checkbook.

We at Townhall have been covering this hotly contested Senate race for months and the results are finally in: With 36 percent of precincts reporting, Elizabeth Warren has been declared the next junior Senator from Massachusetts. Warren has never held public office before and the eye-popping $40 million she raised this election cycle evidently proved more than enough to unseat incumbent Senator Scott Brown. This was the most expensive Senate race of 2012 -- by a long shot.

The Obama and Romney campaigns may be gearing up for a very late night, with one Obama campaign adviser predicting that in Florida alone, "they'll be counting until 2 a.m." The Obama adviser said signs suggest the race is quite tight, though the campaign claimed to be "holding strong" in key battlegrounds like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The adviser also said turnout among black voters in Virginia was better than expected, suggesting that could be a problem for Mitt Romney. Republican operatives in Virginia, though, predicted a razor-thin victory for their candidate in the state.

A week after Hurricane Sandy slammed into the East Coast, a majority of voters said President Barack Obama’s response to the crisis wasn’t a factor in their vote, according to early exit polls. Fifty-five percent of those surveyed, per CBS News’ early exit polling released by radio station WKZO in Kalamazoo, Mich., said Obama’s handling of the storm was a minor factor in their vote or wasn’t a factor at all. Twenty-six percent named Sandy as an “important” factor, and 15 percent said it was the “most important” factor in their decision.

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
