Over the past day the game tape of the debate has been reviewed. While Mitt Romney still enjoys the afterglow of the debate, the lies and half truths he told are being dissected. From tax policy to hiring teachers. From cracking down on Wall Street (and Sesame Street) to coverage for the uninsured. From Medicare to shipping jobs overseas the fact checkers have been very busy correcting the record and pointing out falsehoods. Even Team Romney had to correct the candidate on health care immediately after the debate.
Comments: Democrat shill trying hard. "Cheat sheet" was really a handkerchief according to BuzzFeed.
where are the fact checkers on the Ambassador and the two men murdered recently in the East especially since 24 emails are available relating concern for their safety? The Dems are scattering in complete frustration in every direction trying to make an issue out of tissue - i.e. a hanky!
The people who haven't decided how they will vote and those who were not engaged in the political discussion until watching the debates are not following these "fact check" stories. They saw Romney kick Obama's rear and that's the end of the story. Perhaps they will tune in for another debate round. Hopefully they won't miss Biden's upcoming comedy routine.
The Obama camp has spent the summer, ever since it became apparent that Romney would be the nominee, “defining” Romney. They did such an thorough job that they themselves believed it as well as their minions and surrogates. When Romney showed up for the debate and presented the real Romney to the nation, Obama was flummoxed – the chair was kicked out from under him. Now since Romney has said things opposite of what the Obama camp wants him to say, they call him a liar. The accusation of “liar” is one of the most vile on earth. Lying has been the tactic of the whole Obama campaign and I make that accusation in full acknowledgement of the preceding sentence (see Axelrod, Gibbs, Cutter, Carney, Reid ...).
Lets give this all the credit it deserves: "Bill Buck is a Democratic strategist, President of the Buck Communications Group, a media relations and new media strategies consulting business based in Washington" The real question is: Is this a legitimate 'commentary' article, or another case of CBS offering its decidedly pro-Obama slant nestled into a 'news' article?
There has been absolutely no dirt the Dems can dig up on Romney. He is about as pure as the driven snow. So the idiot Dems think he is going to carry a cheat sheet? The man DOES NOT cheat! But because that is their way of life, they cannot accept that fact.
Why would Romney need a "cheat sheet" when he could just write things on his NOTE CARDS?!? A "cheat sheet" doesn't even make sense. Perhaps this idiot should think about that while he watches the video of Romney wiping his face with the handkerchief.
Only a Mormon cheat sheet could cause a President, the most powerful man in the world, the Won, The Light Bringer, The smartest man on earth, a constitutional law professor, a man who single handedly shot Bin Laden and caused the sea levels to lower to completely screw up his own answers in a debate.
I thought the most hilarious "explanation" for why Øbama got his butt kicked in the debate came from Algore. It was the al-ti-tude! You see, the poor weakling Øbama couldn't adjust to the Denver altitude so he got confused and incoherent during the debate! Poor wittle Øbama. If he's that weak I don't want him around the pResidency.
Nelson Mandela, the former South African president whose stubborn defiance survived 27 years in prison and led to the dismantling of the country´s racist and brutal apartheid system, has died. Mandela was 95 years old. Mandela had a number of issues with his health in recent years including repeated hospitalizations with a chronic lung infection. Mandela had been listed in "serious but stable condition" after entering the hospital in June. In April, Mandela spent 18 days in the hospital due to a lung infection and was treated for gall stones in December 2012. Mandela´s public appearances had become increasingly rare as he dealt with
Nelson Mandela, whose successful struggle against South Africa´s apartheid system of racial segregation and discrimination made him a global symbol for the cause of human rights and earned him the Nobel Prize, died Thursday. He was 95. Mandela spent 27 years in South African prisons before his release in 1990. He negotiated with the nation´s white leaders toward establishing democracy and was elected South Africa´s first black president in 1994, serving one term. "He probably will be remembered both inside and outside South Africa as a political saint," said Michael Parks, the former editor of the Los Angeles Times who won a
Nelson Mandela, the revered statesman who emerged from prison after 27 years to lead South Africa out of decades of apartheid, has died, South African President Jacob Zuma announced late Thursday. He was 95. The former president battled health issues in recent months, including a recurring lung infection that led to numerous hospitalizations. With advancing age and bouts of illness, Mandela retreated to a quiet life at his boyhood home in the nation´s Eastern Cape Province, where he said he was most at peace. Despite rare public appearances, he held a special place in the nation´s consciousness. In a nation healing from the scars
New York — The Rev. Al Sharpton and other civil rights leaders have launched a social media campaign in an effort to stop the violent “knockout game.” Sharpton, president of the National Action Network, joined National Urban League president Marc Morial, hip-hop legend Russell Simmons, and Jewish leader Rabbi Marc Schneier, to promote the effort. Simmons and Schneier are chairman and president, respectively, of the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding. The civil rights leaders want to stop the “knockout game” and the targeting of Jews. Reports of “knockout game” attacks have been reported around the country, and have been concentrated in particular in
If the very thought of being without your smartphone brings you out in a cold sweat you could be suffering from a form of technology addiction. New research has found that more than half of gadget owners (53 per cent) worldwide admit to suffering anxiety when they can’t use their phones and added having a tech detox was ‘as stressful as a trip to the dentist or even their own wedding day.’ The number of people being treated for this addiction has risen over the past year and around 1 in 8 people in the UK now exhibit signs of being hooked
Intuitive Surgical Inc. (ISRG), the maker of a $1.5 million robot surgery system, told doctors that friction in the arms of some devices may cause the units to stall, the second warning issued about the company’s products in a month. The company sent an “urgent medical device recall” Nov. 11 alerting customers of the issue, which affects 1,386 of the systems worldwide, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said in a Dec. 3 notice on its website. The stalling may result in a sudden “catch-up” if the surgeon pushes through the resistance, the agency said. Intuitive is facing growing questions about its
Pope Francis is undergoing a popularity surge comparable to the way Barack Obama was greeted by the world in 2008. And just as President Obama has been a disappointment for America, Pope Francis will prove a disaster for the Catholic Church. My fellow Catholics should be suspicious when bastions of anti-Catholicism in the left-wing media are in love with him. Much is being made of his ‘compassion’ and ‘humility,’ but kissing babies and hugging the sick is nothing new. Every pope in recent memory has done the same, yet only now are the media paying attention. Benedict XVI and John Paul II
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
[Video] President Obama on Wednesday declared that addressing income inequality would be the focus of “all” of the White House’s efforts “for the rest of my presidency.” In a sweeping address that touched on raising the minimum wage, investing in infrastructure and ending tax breaks for the wealthy, Obama warned that the American economy has become “profoundly unequal,” declaring economic mobility the “challenge of our time.” “The combined trends of increasing inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream, our way of life, and what we stand for around the globe,” he said in an hour-long
Just over two weeks ago, MSNBC host Martin Bashir delivered a harsh piece of commentary that culminated in the suggestion that someone should “s-h-i-t” in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin‘s (R-AK) mouth. Bashir offered an abject apology on his next broadcast, but a chorus of critics continued to demand action against the host. After a reported “vacation” for the host earlier this week, Bashir announced, Wednesday afternoon, that MSNBC and Martin Bashir are parting ways. Here’s the statement from Martin Bashir, via email: After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon
Amid an array of “knock-out” attacks against a number of Jews in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood, a city councilwoman pointed to the success of the Jewish community as triggering the aggression. Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo emphasized that while she “admire[s] the Jewish community immensely” for its work ethic, black teens may see it differently. “While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success,” Cumbo, who was recently elected, wrote in a letter. Chief among the issues
America is facing a wave of strikes by its fast-food workers on Thursday a day after Barack Obama warned that inequality in the USA had soared to the point that it now posed "a fundamental threat to the American dream". Low-paid workers in McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken and other fast-food outlets in 100 cities across America were due to start rolling strikes to protest at the low level of America´s $7.25 (£4.45) federal minimum wage. The strikes are the latest part of a mushrooming publicity campaign for higher wages among those working so-called "McJobs", with fast-food restaurants seen as a
