| WASHINGTON — The AFL-CIO says it has registered more than 450,000 new voters from union households in a bid to help President Barack Obama win reelection. The tally includes about 68,000 new voters in Ohio, one of the most contested battleground states this year. The labor federation registered thousands of other union-friendly voters in swing states like Colorado and Nevada. Voters from union homes have traditionally favored Democratic candidates. Exit polls show 59 percent of voters who lived in union households backed Obama in 2008, while 39 percent supported Republican John McCain.

Thar may not mean much.
Acorn turned in over 100,000 registrations in Phila in 2008, 75% of which were bogus, or duplicates.
Also the Union may not know how they vote, unless they go in the machines with them.
[I know off a least one legitimate Conservative voter who's registration was completed by Acorn on the street in 2008, who votes strait R.]

The 68,000 are no doubt 18 years old, fresh out of 5th grade and clueless to life. They deserve the marxist hell they vote for. Much later in life when they gain some wisdom they will realize they were being used.

Funny thing, many of those union jobs (not in the public employee types) in mining, construction, transportation are all threatened by Obama administration who is at war with Coal and Oil production and using the EPA to destroy jobs.
Those industries fuel our economy, create jobs and provide tangible product.
It requires people to construct things, transport things, and make steel.
Higher gasoline prices means we spend less on other things, and we're a consumer economy.

They may register them, but inside the voting booth, voters can make their own choices. I am not convinced they will follow AFL-CIO diktats, particularly if they are bullied into registering or else.

Something I don't understand ... we read numbers like this every four years.
Weren't most of these 450,000 people already registered to vote. Unless you move, you don't have to register each election cycle.
I re-registered when I moved to my present location in 1992. That's it.

How many new registrants are named, "Rex", "Muffin", "Cocoa", etc.?

I wonder how many voters are registered at Eric Holder's home(s)? And you just know the vast majority of these AFL-CIO voters are phony, and they'll vote many times.

The president may have forgotten something as he boarded Marine One this morning. On his way to the U.S. Naval Academy graduation ceremony on Annapolis, Md., President Obama didn’t return the salute of the marine standing guard at the door of Marine One, as he climbed the steps to the helicopter cabin. Obama soon ducked his head out, waved to the pilot, and jaunted back down the stairs to address the marine, shaking his hand. In the short video clip, one can’t hear the two men talking, so it’s unclear what exactly was said.

Put aside the politics, and the question of who-knew-what-when. There are two policy problems highlighted by the controversies at the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Justice. The first is the growth of 501(c)(4) groups into vehicles for anonymous and unlimited political spending. The second is the Obama administration’s overzealous prosecution of leaks. Unfortunately, for those who would like to see these policy problems resolved, the wrong party is angry about them and the wrong party is complacent.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election.
