Philly Student Told to Lose
Romney T-Shirt or Get Out

A Philadelphia high schooler says she was humiliated after her teacher told her to lose her Gov. Mitt Romney T-shirt comparing it to “wearing a KKK shirt.” Samantha Pawlucy, a 16-year-old sophomore at Charles Carroll High School in the Port Richmond section of the city, says she wore a pink Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan T-shirt last Friday during the school's dress down day. No one made an issue of Samantha’s political T-shirt until she got to geometry class. "The teacher told me to get out of the classroom, I said no," Samantha said.

Good job on the parents. They pushed back, and hard. The school district folded. Good!

One of Obama's math & science teachers, no doubt. Teachers need to be all checked for bias and if they push politics in the classroom, they should be fired on the spot.

"The teacher apologized to Samantha and her parents saying that the statement was meant as a joke."

Liberals need to quit trying to tell jokes because they're really, really bad at it. And you have to be an idiot to think it was a joke.

I suspect outside of schools in the ghetto most students are smarter than their government school teachers. People who major in Education are mostly inferior students who cannot hack Arts and Sciences, Engineering, or Business schools.

Seems MSM is underreporting again.

From the Philadelphia Inquirer:
http://articles.philly.com/2012-10-03/news/34240191_1_t-shirt-teacher-student

"her geometry teacher publicly humiliated her by asking why she was wearing a Romney/Ryan T-shirt and going into the hallway to urge other teachers and students to mock her."

"The teacher then allegedly called a non-teaching assistant into the room who tried to write on the t-shirt with a marker."

The teacher should lose her job - this is a hanging offense, for a teacher to bully a child. The settlement should pay for the child's college.

An example of why many Philadelphians do NOT say they are/or vote R.

No political bumper stickers on cars, home windows, or wearing political buttons on street or buses ......... Rs of course.

We get tired of broken windows, keyed cars, smashed pots and shrubbery, threats on the street, bus drivers refusing to pick us up, or taxi drivers telling us to 'get out'.

It's also the reason the state legislature had to pass law permitting 'city-wide poll watchers' as people refused to work as R watchers at some local polling places' due to threats ...... ie. to their 92 year old mothers, etc.

PS it's still hard to get people to be R election table workers, who have to be from a given division, particularly in some neighborhoods.

We really did need that Voter ID.

Adams joined the university in 1993. He was an atheist at the time. By the year 2000, he had converted to Christianity and become an outspoken political conservative. He eventually wrote columns for Townhall.com.

A glitch in Obamacare

Nearly six months after the disastrous launch of Healthcare.gov, with the website running smoothly and more than five million people signed up as open enrollment heads to a close, a new glitch has come to light: Incorrect poverty-level guidelines are automatically telling what could be tens of thousands of eligible people they do not qualify for subsidized insurance. The error in the federal marketplace primarily affects households with incomes just above the poverty line in states like Pennsylvania that have not expanded Medicaid. The mistake raises the price of their insurance by thousands of dollars, making insurance so unaffordable many

Playing classical music such as Beethoven and Mozart to young children boosts their concentration and self-discipline, a new study suggests. Youngsters also improve their general listening and social skills by being exposed to repertoires from composers including Ravel, Shostakovich and Mendelssohn. In addition, they are likely to appreciate a wider range of music in later years, according to a study from the Institute of Education, (IoE), University of London.

Without saying a word, the man took out a note and handed it to the teller. The only problem was...the teller couldn´t read the note. According to police, the teller was unable to decipher the handwriting and then contacted her manager for assistance. As the teller consulted with her manager, police say the suspect made a break for it, exiting the bank through the back door.

The sender was an older man in Fresno, Calif., a vet who had served in the same part of Europe during World War II as Nobles´ great-uncle Wally. For more than a decade, Nobles had been researching the history of his family, including his maternal grandmother´s only sibling, Lt. President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?
