Massacre leaves liberals in tears
New York Post, by John Podhoretz

Slaughter. It was a slaughter. Mitt Romney put on the most commanding presidential debate performance of the insta-commentary era. One could literally watch, on Facebook and Twitter, hundreds of people on both sides of the political divide react in real time as the debate went on. Their reactions were identical, though their moods were not: As Romney dominated exchange after exchange with a surprisingly effective combination of pointed personal touches and remarkable factual preparation, conservatives and Republicans grew more and more jubilant while liberals and Democrats grew more and more alarmed.

Chris Matthews looked like death warmed over after the debate, and that was when you knew without a doubt that a massacre had just taken place.

For the first time in my life I turned on msnbc to see what they had to say. For the most part they said that obama sucked but the new talking point is: "obama is president. He had presidential duties to do. Romney had all the time in the world to prepare for the debate.so of course he was better. obama was busy with his duties as president so we need to cut him some slack." Really???? You think we are going to buy that BS???? I don't think so.

Obama was whining about the debate practice ... And by the performance, golf and choom won!

I guess important presidential duties included cover-up stories about Bengazdi (sp) and traveling around the country using AF 1 on the taxpayer's dime begging for campaign contributions.

Not only that, but Mitt didn't have a SEAL Team to cover his six while he popped the enemy. Personally.

Obama's media protected BS was exposed for all to see. How do you defend the crap the left espouses? And, wasn't John Kerry Obama's coach?

For the next debate, Obama will be flanked by shiny Greek columns. This will inspire people and show them how much he likes hope and change, and stuff like that. He will also, for the first time in a US presidential debate, use the Obamatron voice enhancer, so that people can better hear how much he likes hope and change, and stuff like that. The Moron Vote will simply go nuts!

Why is it that I cannot imagine the empty chair doing work? I think Obama has all those Czars so he can watch ESPN and play all day long. Every once in a while he may be forced by Valerie to make a phone call, but work,I just can't see him doing.

The President should have sent an empty chair to take his place in the debate.

FTA: "....Romney dominated exchange after exchange with a surprisingly effective combination of pointed personal touches and remarkable factual preparation...". Why surprising? Anyone who has been listening to Romney over the last year *Knew* he was intellectually head & shoulders above the current occupier. But then, those who have been listening to the MSM or watching The View might have been surprised by the "empty chair" that showed up last night.

Of COURSE Obama didn't seem prepared. He doesn't actually 'know' about all that stuff. When they plotted and planned his presidency, they knew they could win by proclaiming that every objection was based on racism. They were right.
... His opponent, John McCain, was afraid to challenge the ignorant puppet because he was a black man.
... White voters needed to prove they could elect a black president.
... The ONLY qualification Obama was able to offer was that he 'worked' as a Community Organizer. Those who don't understand what a community organizer does need to know the job description: rabble-rouser, hate-monger, race-baiter.

They told him he would not have to do anything but read the teleprompter, look presidential, and play lots of golf. They would handle the rest.
... Those who voted for this man are finally seeing what they have wrought.

Interesting...

Those who go up with social media will be going down by social media. Prediction; Mitt will take two out of three. Obama NOW realizes that his MSM pals can't save him in a Debate format. Either he want to be reelected or not.

My observations included that Obama seemed to be prepared with quippy rebuttals to statements Romney did not make. It was like he was trying to answer essay question exams without really having a grasp on the question, let alone the answer. He mailed it in.

Considering the state of affairs in the world today, with the U.S. regarded as an international laughingstock eunuch, the foreign policy debate will be much worse. Obama may want to issue an Executive Order cancelling it.

It happens now and then. You hear a story so sad, so beautiful, so filled with loss and pain and grief and love, that it makes you cry. Really cry. Two years ago, I was making a grocery run for my family on Memorial Day when a story came on the local NPR station in Oxford, Miss. It was about a father whose son had been killed in action in northwest Afghanistan. The father was Paul Monti; his son was Sergeant Jared Monti. Jared died in Afghanistan trying to save the life of one of his men.

The recent attack on a British soldier by assassins wielding meat cleavers while bystanders looked on raises the question: “Why didn’t anyone try to help the victim?” Because British citizens are prohibited from carrying objects that could be used as “offensive weapons.” While it is well known that Brits cannot carry guns, a lesser known law prohibits any subject of the Queen from carrying a knife of consequence, pepper spray or a stun gun.According to the United Kingdom government website, the online storehouse of British government regulations, it is illegal to:

DALLAS—It hasn´t been the best of years for Big Tex, the 52-foot-tall animatronic cowboy who has greeted visitors to the State Fair of Texas for decades. His mechanical hand, which waved from side to side as he bellowed "Hoooowdy folks," stopped working before the fair opened last September. His 60th birthday celebration, which was to include one of the country´s biggest marching bands, was rained out. Then catastrophe struck three days before the fair ended last October. After a suspected electrical short inside his size 70 cowboy boots, Mr. Tex went up in a burst of flames that devoured

What would help a lot right now, as the chilling reality of savagery engulfs us, would be a cultural green light to begin calling evil what it is, to begin calling it by its name, to stop dancing around demographics because of the fear someone, somewhere will take offense. There is always someone, somewhere looking for a reason to be offended. Jesse Jackson has fashioned a lucrative career out of being perpetually peeved. It works if you know how to play the game. And one of the reasons it works is that too many people who ought to know better allow themselves

White House silent about Holder

The White House on Friday didn’t respond to a report that Attorney General Eric Holder authorized the seizure a Fox News reporter’s phone and email records — and with no daily press briefing scheduled Friday that could mean silence from the administration through the Memorial Day weekend. NBC News reported Thursday that Holder approved the search of Fox News reporter James Rosen’s private emails and phone records in a probe of leaked government information. That revelation came just as the president ordered Holder to review Justice Department guidelines for investigating reporters. White House officials have not yet responded

Can Obama Declare Peace?

President Obama’s speech at the National Defense University calling for an end to the war on terror forces the question of who gets to declare peace. The Left wing in our political debate has been agitating for some time to repeal the authorization to use military force that the Congress passed after 9/11. The President boarded the bandwagon yesterday. He vowed he would sign no laws designed to expand the mandate and declared outright that he looks forward “to engaging Congress and the American people in efforts to refine, and ultimately repeal” the congressional mandate to use force.

Ambassador Thomas Pickering:

Ambassador Thomas R. Pickering personifies the State Department mentality that so many conservatives find objectionable. He authored a Global Zero report arguing for unilateral disarmament and then runs to his co-author Chuck Hagel’s defense, saying it doesn’t say what it plainly does. He gets selected for a critical State Department review of Benghazi, doesn’t interview the secretary or high-level advisers, and writes a report identifying no one in particular. He famously replied that it was fine to leave out higher-ups because “because in fact we knew where the responsibility rested.” In a milieu where double-talk, evasion

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway.
