An angry Chris Matthews sharply denounced President Obama's performance in the presidential debate tonight, implying his knowledge of the facts was "first grade." Matthews also urged Obama to tune in to MSNBC so he could learn a thing or two from the supposedly non-partisan hosts and guests on the channel. "I don't know what he was doing out there," the normally effusively pro-Obama former Democratic operative raged. "I don't know how he let Romney get away with the crap he threw out tonight." Video and transcript below the fold. Matthews went on at length castigating Obama for failing
Comments: You have a nice night, now, Mr. Matthews. We'll enjoy the video of your very revealing rant, with or without tingles.
Chrissy Matthews is so stupid that he doesn't realize that 0bama is too stupid to successfully attack 0bama. I believe that 0bama's handlers who prepared him for the debate were afraid to have him try to go after Romney because the counterattack would have been completely devastating to their guy. I couldn't watch Matthews as I bought a TV that has no spit guard on the inside.
The poster at #2 took the word right out of my mouth. I saw the photo of Matthews in this story on Drudge, and my first thought was that Chris Matthews looks totally and undeniably DERANGED. He has practically gone over the edge, as he snarls, snorts and publicly lambastes Obama. .... Tsk, tsk Chris. Your maniacal personality has burst through like a cracked dam. I can't imagine the president will appreciate the castigation.
I think Chris Tingles right. 0bama should do his best to channel Maddow, O'Donnell, Schultz and the rest of the loons on MSNBC. That way the rest of the country, outside of the several hundred viewers they have, can see how bat-crap crazy these people really are. The bonus would be Romney winning the election after zippy melts down with sixty million people watching.
FTA: Obama should watch MSNBC, my last point. He will learn something every night on this show and all these shows. This stuff we're watching, it's like first grade for most of us. We know all this stuff.
Does that mean Matthews admits Zippy does not know as much as his adoring media?
And #18, you owe me a new computer. I laughed so hard my computer is no longer a laptop; it's a floor top. :D
Thsi am Mathews said that Romney stared at Obama like Obama was prey!LOLOL At least there romney's eye surgery helped. Too bad all this fluff hasto decide our future. But thedebate whould have been with Jarrett
Talk about chutzpa! They don't even PRETEND objectivity. It's a pity that the mass of left leaning voters who don't really look at the issues will not awaken from their sleep until every last freedom is gone and the government decides ALL issues for them. Perhaps that is what they want, but as the saying goes: Be careful of what you wish for because it just might come true.
Øbama himself said it was a "drag" preparing for the debates. He would rather be partying it up with Jay-Z and Beyonce and doing drugs than something as detestable as "work". Too bad Øbama felt the same way about being pResident, where he could have done some good for the Country. Either lead, follow, or get out of the way. So get out of the way, loser and take your "Tingle Boy" with you.
I knew this would be a good thread, and y'all did not disappoint! Laughing over here. I'm psyched that Gov. Romney did so well last night. He came across absolutely presidential. Obama looked/sounded tired and lost and small. HA! Guess that's what happens when no speechwriters step in to prop you up.
Hey guys, give "Little Christie" a break he had his little heart broken last night finding out that his manlove was not a god-like hero but a scam artist without clothes. His reaction is like any sixteen year old girl who lost her virginity to a dirtbag and found that he filmed it and put it on U-tube. He is probably still crurled up in the corner, sucking his thumb crying and whining how unfair life is, and how much he loves "Zero".
I m enjoying, savoring the media reaction. Immediately post-debate, all anchors were FUN to watch. Bret and Brit were trying to control their absolute delight while on camera, Megyn looked oddly stunned and like Romney ruined the "script " somehow. MSNBC with a disheveled Chris Matthews. About to cry.
As I said earlier, Obie don't want the job anymore. That's obvious. But, he painted himself into a corner and has not choice but to take a shellacking on November 6th. Keep an eye on what Sarah Palin said which is the dims could try to pull something significant to try to steal the election - keep monitoring the perimeter, folks. Like a last minute entry by PIAPS.
Volunteer fire departments all across the U.S. could find themselves out of money and unable to operate unless Congress or the Obama Administration exempts them from the Affordable Care Act. ´I thought the kinks were worked out of Obamacare at the first of the month, Central Florida volunteer firefighter Carl Fabrizi told Sunshine State News. ´Man, oh, man, this could potentially destroy some real good companies in Florida.´ The U.S. Department of Labor takes the term ´volunteer´ literally, but the IRS says volunteer firefighters are technically employees if they´re on the job more than 30 hours per week, making them
Recently I´ve acquired a second career poisoning the minds of the young in schools. Even in the very posh ones, there´s always an element which is mildly appalled that someone like me has been allowed anywhere near their precious charges. Science departments, I find, are particularly resistant and I quite understand why. Being mostly Guardian readers they have this caricature image in their heads of what James Delingpole is like: he´s a wanton controversialist; he´s anti-science; he´s a denier in the pay of Big Oil who harasses all those wonderful principled scientists doing their best to warn us of impending
It´s been a month since Twitter floated on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and we´ve already seen more than $6 billion drop off its market cap. As with every recent tech IPO, there´s always a big furore and gigantic valuation, following by the creation of lots of rich people, and then the share price starts to slide as everyone sobers up and starts to think more clearly. Just look at Facebook--once the excitement of the 2012 flotation had died down, the stock price plummeted to around half of its initial offering, and stayed there for a year.
Immigration--controlled, legal immigration--can bring advantages to the destination state. That sentiment is often trotted out as kind of obligatory throat-clearing before a politician goes on to call for restrictions, a neat example of the Everything-Before-The-But-Is-Bullsh*t hermeneutic rule (“I am the first to say that I recognise the benefits of successive immigrants from the Huguenots onwards, but there comes a moment when we reach saturation point…”) Except that it isn’t bullsh*t; at least, it needn’t be. Immigration can be either good or bad, depending on how it is managed. Unrestricted, unplanned settlement is usually disastrous.
There is no more potent symbol of statehood than military power. It is not surprising therefore that Eurocrats regard defence policy as a key element in their drive for a state called Europe, playing a role on the global stage. The forthcoming European Council (19/20 December), when heads of government meet, has long been trailered in Brussels as a "Defence Council" to take a great leap forward in the EU´s Common Security & Defence Policy (CSDP). Actually, the modest defence-related decisions have largely been taken by Ministers in recent weeks and Prime Ministers will spend most of their time on
People buying insurance plans through Obamacare´s online exchanges may not have full access to some of the nation´s top hospitals, it has been claimed. In a bid to cut costs, insurers selling cover on the new exchanges in states including New York, Texas and California will not offer patients access to two renowned cancer centers--Memorial Sloan Kettering in Manhattan and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, according to The Financial Times. Access to Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, one of the top research and teaching hospitals, may also be limited, as the insurers attempt to steer customers away from hospitals or
A powerful storm that crept across the country dropped snow, freezing rain and sleet on the Mid-Atlantic region and headed northeast Sunday, turning NFL playing fields in Pennsylvania into winter wonderlands, dumping a foot of snow in Delaware and threatening a messy Monday commute in the northeast corridor. The storm forced the cancellation of thousands of flights across the U.S. and slowed traffic on roads, leading to a number of accidents, including a fatal crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Morgantown that led to a series of fender-benders involving 50 cars that stranded some motorists for up to seven hours.
The question all week long was this: Who are you going to believe, an illegal alien or the president of the United States of America? Obviously, if it’s a president who once went by an alias, Barry Soetoro, you go with Uncle Omar, 100 percent, no questions asked. And so it was that the White House finally admitted to another, uh, misstatement — despite previous denials, Barack/Barry did sleep on his beloved Uncle Omar’s couch in Cambridge when he first moved here to attend Harvard Law School (speaking of which, we’re still waiting to see the president’s grades and his LSAT scores). But the
How do you get your arms around the catastrophe known as Obamacare? Is it even possible? At this point, I’m not sure it is. The list of individual disasters which threaten to ruin one-sixth of the U.S. economy and what has been, up until now, the best healthcare system in the world is exhaustive, and exhausting. The examples I will identify here barely scratch the surface. First but by no means foremost, we have the supposedly new and improved HealthCare.gov. Except it’s not, even the visible part. Stories still abound of people still failing to get in or to get through the enrollment
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a new five-year strategic plan to improve safety for elderly drivers and passengers. Although they are statistically among the safest on the road, the number of older drivers is increasing dramatically — and with it, that group´s numbers of injuries and deaths. Since 2003, the population of older adults, defined as age 65 and older, has increased by 20% and the number of licensed older drivers increased by 21% to 35 million in 2012, according to NHTSA. Last year, NHTSA reported that 5,560 people older than 65 died and 214,000 were injured
President Barack Obama’s Facebook page on Saturday posted a message honoring the dead from Pearl Harbor—accompanied by a picture of Obama descending the stairs next to the Pearl Harbor Memorial. The picture barely fits the name of the Arizona Memorial so it can frame Obama in the foreground. The post´s statement reads: Today, with solemn pride and reverence, let us remember those who fought and died at Pearl Harbor, acknowledge everyone who carried their legacy forward, and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the ideals for which they served. President Obama The Obama Administration´s current shipbuilding plan shrinks the size of
Barack Obama did not tell the whole story this autumn when he tried to make the case that Bashar al-Assad was responsible for the chemical weapons attack near Damascus on 21 August. In some instances, he omitted important intelligence, and in others he presented assumptions as facts. Most significant, he failed to acknowledge something known to the US intelligence community: that the Syrian army is not the only party in the country’s civil war with access to sarin, the nerve agent that a UN study concluded – without assessing responsibility – had been used in the rocket attack. In the months before the attack,
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the hapless, goalpost-shifting so-called "architect" of Obamacare, told Fox News´ Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday that President Barack Obama´s promise "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor" was absolutely true--with one important caveat: if you like your doctor, "you can pay for it." Wallace grilled Dr. Emanuel, challenging his false claims that California´s enrollment was keeping pace with the percentage of the young population necessary to keep the system afloat, and pointing out that the president´s promise on doctors would collapse once people lost their insurance or their
A veteran Washington adviser who has worked for four Presidents on both sides of the political aisle said that the stunning Government Accountability Report report that found President Barack Obama has not had a one-on-one meeting with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius since the passage of Obamacare over three years ago is an indictment of the entire White House operation and shows that the Obama administration has bordered on "malfeasance." "I have no doubt the White House is right, that Secretary Sebelius was in several group meetings with the president about health care," Gergen caveated, "but the whole
