| If you haven't noticed, the election is slipping away from Mitt. Given the numbers out there -- unemployment, deficit, gas prices, and poverty -- that is amazing. Simply stated, if a Republican can't win this election, he or she can't win any presidential election. (Snip) Every (winning) campaign needs a good tagline (whether official or informal). For Reagan, it was "where's the beef?" For Clinton it was "it's the economy, stupid." Here perhaps this works: "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." It's not only catchy and well-known, but it also sends a strong psychological

A tagline has to be original and not trite too. A few simple numbers that demonstrate the lies and failures of the 0bama regime will work. Just don't bog the whole thing down with numbers. Turning what 0bama has said and says during the debate against him is a good strategy but it requires cool AND fast thinking. One thing I learned about debating in a time-limited format a long time ago is that if you can charm the audience with your wit and a few well-handled facts and make your opponent look befuddled or like a liar you win

It was Mondale for "Where's the beef?"
Reagan's tag line involved him not taking advantage of Mondale's youth and inexperience.
Romney needs to find a fun, witty way to call Obama a scummy, job-killing, wealthy white male-hating communist.
Could be a tough order to fill.

As for tagline, it needs to be current. Where's the beef was awesome because everyone knew the original context.
"Fool me once" might appeal to Trekkers, but that's about it.
Problem is, all the great catch phrases were created in the 80s. ;-)

Let's let Mitt be Mitt. He's done ok for himself over the years. He isn't dumb or stupid, and it's getting old seeing all the articles about what Mitt should do. He's savvy enough and knows what he wants to accomplish. What are people going to do who can't stand Obama but think Mitt should say this or that about a subject - are they going to stay home because Mitt didn't say what they think he should. How childish!

We at Townhall have been covering this hotly contested Senate race for months and the results are finally in: With 36 percent of precincts reporting, Elizabeth Warren has been declared the next junior Senator from Massachusetts. Warren has never held public office before and the eye-popping $40 million she raised this election cycle evidently proved more than enough to unseat incumbent Senator Scott Brown. This was the most expensive Senate race of 2012 -- by a long shot.

CNN’s Peter Hamby reported that Mitt Romney‘s internal polling showed President Obama leading in Ohio by five percentage points.Per Hamby’s post: The number represented a sharp final bump for Obama in Ohio, a race that had essentially been a tied race through much of the previous week, according to the campaign’s daily tracking. The Obama and Romney campaigns may be gearing up for a very late night, with one Obama campaign adviser predicting that in Florida alone, "they'll be counting until 2 a.m." The Obama adviser said signs suggest the race is quite tight, though the campaign claimed to be "holding strong" in key battlegrounds like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The adviser also said turnout among black voters in Virginia was better than expected, suggesting that could be a problem for Mitt Romney. Republican operatives in Virginia, though, predicted a razor-thin victory for their candidate in the state.

A week after Hurricane Sandy slammed into the East Coast, a majority of voters said President Barack Obama’s response to the crisis wasn’t a factor in their vote, according to early exit polls. Fifty-five percent of those surveyed, per CBS News’ early exit polling released by radio station WKZO in Kalamazoo, Mich., said Obama’s handling of the storm was a minor factor in their vote or wasn’t a factor at all. Twenty-six percent named Sandy as an “important” factor, and 15 percent said it was the “most important” factor in their decision.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election.
