California's Democrat Gov. Jerry Brown has signed into law legislation that would give legal state driver licenses to hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrant youths. The bill, AB 2189, obviously affects only undocumented young people in the nation's most populous state. But it could also play an important role in the upcoming presidential debate Wednesday evening in Denver. Both candidates are preparing today and tomorrow for their first of three rhetorical rendezvous. The agreed-upon topic that night just happens to be domestic policy.

Please, Jerry & the Dems are only allowing illegals to show a drivers license when they vote. Is that asking so much? And to get in state tuition, cash welfare checks, get Medicaid drug prescriptions and receive all of the benefits that accrue to citizens. The going out of business state puts up a larger sign, "Everyone must go!"
Debate fodder? Amid the cries of bi-partisanship to reform? The only thing standing between amnesty and not are a few people. Once the GOP and Dems can figure out how to minimize their impact, the John McCain Immigration Reform Act will pass and be signed.
Inorder to get a license in California, you have to take the driving test in an insured vehicle. Will Brown wave this requirement?I took my Hispanis brother-in-law to take the test and he failed 3 times. So he drove without a license. Lot of that going on there.
The state Department of Motor Vehicles has concluded the federal program appears to confer a status on undocumented immigrants that would qualify them for licenses, but the bill by Assemblyman Gilbert Cedillo (D-Los Angeles) clarifies that any papers issued by the federal program are sufficient to get a license.
"I'm proud the governor chose public safety over the politics of the day,'' Cedillo said.
"Public safety"? WTH is he talking about? They shouldn't be here at all, let alone driving. And the granting of a license does not insure the public safety. Cedillo is trying to give them status. The vote.
It certainly ought to be Denver debate fodder, for reasons both local and national. Now that Californico has taken the next step toward being a province of Mexico, Colorado will not be far behind, especially with puppets like Hickenlooper and Denver Mayor Hancock in charge.
California and Colorado are dominated by cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles - Colorado has Boulder and Denver and the libs have them and vote for illegals to be pampered and allowed to vote. Good luck on throwing the dems out. I wish it were so, not only for mexicans, but the mooslims, too.
Say goodbye to the Golden State and hello to the Beholden State! The fiscal condition of CA is circling the drain and the Democrats are determined to see the state go bankrupt! The next step will be for Gov. Moonbeam to have his hand out to the Feds for taxpayer bailout money to keep the state afloat! From California to Mexifornia in one generation! Well done Dems!
You have to face the fact that the liberal Democrats will never support the affective enforcement of the immigration laws, as they have a huge political conflict of interest in that they consider illegal aliens, and especially these young illegal aliens, to be prospective liberal Democrat voters.
For that reason the Republicans should never give the Democrats the political cover they need to pass a permanent amnesty that eventually provides illegal aliens a "path to citizenship" that is liberal Democrat code speech for eventually granting the illegal alien population US voting rights. The only way to do that is to statutorily bar illegal aliens who receive any legal immigration status by way of amnesty or legalization from becoming US citizens.
Its entirely possible that there are about 20 million illegal aliens now in the USA. If they were granted US voting rights in the future, the vast majority of them being poor low wage earning generally uneducated people would become liberal Democrat voters, that has been historical fact all along. With that many new voters, the liberal Democrats would be able to cancel out enough Republican votes in key states to win every future national election, and ensure a continuous socialist oriented US government into the future.
You may remember earlier this year that President Obama, in a fit of pique over Congress actually allowing his sequester cuts idea to take effect, had White House public tours canceled to save lunch money. During the later partial government shutdown, he ordered national monuments "closed," even though most are open-air. Now, comes holiday season in the Obama White House. Although the family travels at Christmas, they go all out for decorations.
Most days here we´re talking about relatively serious stuff -- politics, political maneuvering, political tactics, political speeches, political gaffes, political scandals. Oh, and politicians. Like the Chicagoan currently inhabiting the White House with his mother-in-law while teaching America about his adopted hometown´s chronic style of political ops. We´re all sorry about that. Anyway, today we´re doing something completely different. It's Sunday, which means the National Football League. And it's December, which means the playoffs are shaping up. We're not writing about the games though. We're writing about the show biz side
Merry Christmas, everyone, and hello, my name is Renee Ellmers, and I represent North Carolina’s Second Congressional District. Like many of you, I’m frustrated with the president’s health care law, especially where jobs and working families are concerned. I say this not only as a congresswoman and chair of the Republican Women’s Policy Committee; I say it as a nurse and the mother of a son in college. After all, it’s often women who make the health care decisions for our families. We put a lot of time and thought into these choices and how they’ll affect our budgets. So by canceling your insurance — despite a promise
The holiday season is a time for remembering the bonds we share, and our obligations to one another as human beings. But right now, more than one million of our fellow Americans are poised to lose a vital economic lifeline just a few days after Christmas if Congress doesn’t do something about it. Our top priority as a country should be restoring opportunity and broad-based economic growth for all Americans. And yesterday, we learned that our businesses created about 200,000 jobs in the month of November. That’s more than 8 million new jobs in the last 45 months. And the unemployment rate fell to its lowest level in five
Last summer on his $100 million family tour of Africa, Barack Obama hoped for a priceless photo op with Nelson Mandela, the ailing freedom pioneer who went from prison cell to the presidency of South Africa. Mandela´s family suggested that wouldn’t happen. So, the Obamas did a photo op in Mandela´s former prison cell. Which Obama’s White House quickly tweeted upon word of the icon´s passing at 95. [Skip] But Obama was also caught staring at television coverage of Mandela’s passing, which became Obama’s Photo of the Day.
You may have noticed over these past 2,501 days that Barack Obama likes to give speeches, sometimes two or more a day. It´s better than Oval Office work. And yesterday the poor guy gave a particularly revealing one. He´s so desperate now that he modestly likened ObamaCare to the suffrage struggle and civil rights. [Snip] But here´s the largest challenge for Obama´s ObamaCare: He must ensure 40% of all enrollees are under 35 and willing to pay huge premiums for coverage they really don´t need. In the scaled eyes of our nation´s community organizer, that´s a kind of civic patriotism.
As everyone knows, California is the la-de-dah, laid-back land of liberalism that´s been Barack Obama´s political ATM for six years. Hollywood stars have loved him, fronted multi-multi-million-dollar fundraisers for him. The most populous state (home to 12 of every 100 Americans) has a Democrat governor again, two female Democrat senators and a Democrat super-majority in the state legislature that has yet to find a problem it didn´t want government making worse at great cost. In presidential politics California has been trending Democratic since 1992. [Snip] Now comes a stunning new poll revealing Obama’s California base has fallen out of love.
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
