| You can't imagine how many videos I get sent to me. I make a point of watching some of all of them, but I couldn't stop watching this one:(Video)Note that Bishop Jackson is not endorsing Mitt Romney or the Republican Party and never once mentions Barack Obama. His testimony is merely an indictment of the Democrat Party, not from a racial or partisan perspective, but from a Christian one. Honestly, I would love to hear anyone attempt to argue against the points the Bishop makes about Planned Parenthood, same sex marriage, and most especially the Democratic Party's attacks against God

A mixture of truth and some lousy Biblical exegesis.

Problem is the bishop is asking the masses to choose between God and the freebies. The freebies will win.

Not antisemitism. Even many Orthodox Jews know better than to equate the modern State of Israel with Biblical Israel. Paul, too, distinguished between the Israel of God and the Israel that was not of God. As I said - some lousy Biblical exegesis. Read the Bible - you might learn something, as well as learn to distinguish Biblical teachings from popular religious shibboleths, which all too many Christians swallow and mimic and mouth because their teachers - who are often hirelings who serve for 10 shekels and a shirt - say so.

Several years ago, I met a lovely black lady who was a professional gardener. We got to talking and she brought up the WON. She didn't like him. As a Christian, she felt then that he as a muslim and tried to tell her fellow church members that. She also felt he was a socialist/communist. I hope she's busy telling her fellow church members "I told you so" loudly and clearly. I bet she is.

This is how the Christian Churches can only tell their congregations how to vote !
They can't legally tell them not to vote for Obama, due to IRS regulations.
BUT, they can tell them not to vote against those that have beliefs contrary to their religion, without naming names !!

Excellent speech by the Bishop, but I agree with #1 about questionable Biblical exegesis. Christians are not going to be required stand before God and explain why they supported the Democrat or any other political party. Sorry, that's not in there.

I applaud Bishop Jackson's rousing exhortation, and wish there were a hundred more like him in the pulpits of black churches across the country.
He only quotes a few times from scripture, and he seems to look at the Bible verses through the lens of the contemporary issues to which he's applying them, which is backwards. (i.e. #1's point is correct, even if bluntly stated)
But most of us have seen or heard some evangelical preachers that cross that line far more egregiously than that; so we should cut Jackson some slack.

There's a lot of black preachers that are theoretically against abortion, gay marriage, drug abuse and other sins the left readily accepts. The question is how much does it affect their congregation's vote. I would say not very much.

One does not have to be Christian, black, a Bible expert, a white bitter clinger, or Jewish, to understand that Obama and the Democrats are a moral cesspool pulling the nation down the drain. All help in ridding the nation of their suicidal plague is welcome.

Poster one is correct. Christians have to learn a lot about context in the bible. We've become accustomed to applying everything to modern thinking. The pastor has a great moral argument for how we should govern ourselves in the society we live in, but the focus of the bible is the Gospel. It's about God not man. God will judge us based on his law not politics. The pastor's overall statement that blacks need to come out of the DP is absolutely correct. They cannot continue to walk lockstep with people with whom they differ significantly. They can no longer use the I don't agree with them on everything excuse.

Bishop Jackson's words ring true to me too, and I am grateful that men of good character are speaking up. #17, will God refrain from judging a group of like-minded people who are harming so many others just because their group is identified by a current political name rather than a geographical name? If this were true, then there would be no room for the Bible to hold lessons for us today since it was written in the past when the US was not a nation.

My family withdrew from a church (Protestant) because the leadership chose to go with the "abortion is between a woman and her doctor" instead of being between a woman and her God. It's not that one of the leaders might not believe what the consensus agreed upon and therefore, we could still attend the church because of the one prolifer pastor. For our consciences, the abortion issue placed an "umbrella" over everything the church did, so it could not be "blessed" by God. Being a sinful Christian does not mean to stay in sin, but to reject it and move on with grace and thankfulness for forgiveness. Pastor Jackson is a shining light in this momentous time in our country's darkening political arena.

HIGHLANDS, NJ — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Monday that President Obama "has kept every promise he´s made" about helping the state recover from Hurricane Sandy. Speaking on MSNBC´s "Morning Joe" program on the 6-month anniversary of the deadly storm, the Republican governor said presidential politics were the last thing on his mind as he toured storm-devastated areas with Obama last fall. "The president has kept every promise he´s made," said Christie, widely considered a potential candidate for the republican presidential nomination in 2016. "I think he´s done a good job. He kept his word."

In the wake of this week´s false AP tweet about explosions at the White House, Bloomberg´s Jared Keller and Evan Applegate offer a look at how "false tweets" can move markets, sending stocks spiking or crashing in an instant. "The AP hack highlights the potential pitfalls of relying on social networks for tradable information, but false tweets have been affecting markets and companies for the past few years," they write. Tamerlan Tsarnaev was on welfare, sponsored by tax payers. Tsarnaev, now dead, is suspected of bombing the Boston Marathon last week. "Marathon bombings mastermind Tamerlan Tsarnaev was living on taxpayer-funded state welfare benefits even as he was delving deep into the world of radical anti-American Islamism, the Herald has learned," reports the Boston Herald. "State officials confirmed last night that Tsarnaev, slain in a raging gun battle with police last Friday, was receiving benefits along with his wife, Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, and their 3-year-old daughter.

“He looks like me,” my son, Shibli, 10, said as we looked at a photo of a young Dzhokhar Tsarnaev flash upon the TV screen Friday night. Indeed, with his innocent eyes and rumple of dark curly hair, he did. As an American, a Muslim, a mother, and an aunt to a nephew on the cusp of manhood, my heart just broke for yet another boy lost in our Muslim community, taking with him the lives of others. Enough, enough, enough, I say, with the CYA—Cover Your A**—strategy in our Muslim communities.

Boudin, 69, this year won another academic laurel — being named the Sheinberg Scholar-in-Residence at NYU Law School, where last month she gave a lecture on “the politics of parole and re-entry.” Boudin’s bounce-back into respectability after her 2003 parole comes to light a week before the release of Robert Redford’s movie

I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
