ACLU Sues to Stop Citizenship
Question on Michigan Ballots

American Thinker, by Robert Knight

Only citizens of the United States can legally vote in federal elections. So Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson added a yes/no question on ballot applications that asks: "Are you a United States citizen?" According to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Michigan, this simple requirement is "an election day disaster in the making." So the ACLU did what it usually does, which is to sue.

Meanwhile, a filmmaker who spoke out against Islam sits in jail and the Anti-Constitution Leftists Union does nothing.

Do these people even stop to think what they are doing? That is a question no true American would ever hesitate to answer, and proudly do so.

If i were president I would make life intensely miserable for the ACLU . Name them for what they are: domestic terrorists and scam artists. They are the lawyers equivalent to the Westboro Baptist church .

Trucker Observation: Don't the pigs at ACLU know that all 50 states driver license application's includes the question "are you a US citizen".

Back when common sense ruled this nation; unwanted problems were often solved by placing bounties to remove undesirable situations.
I can see a bounty system working to expose fraudulent voters. After all, what's the going rate for a democRAT-bought vote...a free phone or a bottle of cheap wine or what?

Wow.
What an embarrassing question to ask.

The ACLU, making it safe for voter fraud.
Just like Obama's DOSJ.

Democrat controlled ACLU, founded by communists should be acknowledged for what they are: the enemy.

Next: ACLU sues to stop question about if you are alive or not off ballot.

Reply 10 - Posted by: srhcb, 9/29/2012 9:39:23 AM     (No. 8898030)

The question should be "Are you a member of the ACLU".

If you answer yes, you should be barred from voting.

Reply 11 - Posted by: JimS, 9/29/2012 9:49:24 AM     (No. 8898052)

What the heck is their problem?
The illegals who are voting likely can't read English--if at all.
Now, if the same question was written bilingually on the ballot, then maybe they'd have a problem.
/sarcasm

As you register to vote you automatically and perhaps unwillingly join a union in Michigan. A percentage of your weekly income is then deducted. You're welcome.

It's the law. Don't ask. Just do it.

Reply 17 - Posted by: skacmar, 9/29/2012 10:34:12 AM     (No. 8898158)

The ACLU says the citizen question will cause confusion and long lines to vote. If you are too stupid to understand "Are you a US citizen?" then you are too stupid to vote. Of course, most people who won't understand this question will be voting Democart. Also, the only election day disaster would be if unqualfied votes got to cast ballots.

Why hasn't any group sued the ACLU for being anti-American ? Every stupid lawsuit they win, we pay for their costs.

Mark Krikorian is tapping the earpiece of his glasses — into the center of his right eye. (Snip) In Krikorian’s world view, there is good immigration — the kind that happened long ago. And there is bad immigration — the kind that happens now. There are immigrants who melt into a place and let it melt into them, and there are immigrants who inhabit a place without allowing it to inhabit them. “America has outgrown mass immigration,” he says. Krikorian doesn’t control any votes in the immigration fight that is consuming Congress,

A report released on Tuesday by the National Council on Teacher Quality finds that U.S. teacher training is “an industry of mediocrity” that produces teachers without a clue. “The results were dismal,” said Kate Walsh, president of the bipartisan research group. Walsh told Reuters that new teachers "don´t know how to teach reading, don´t know how to master a classroom, don´t know how to use data." (Snip) Several colleges attempted to thwart the study. Some even tried to block the Council from obtaining data about their teacher training programs.

Thanks to a John Podhoretz tweet (by the way, if you don’t follow him, you should. His Twitter feed is constantly engaging and insightful), I came across a horrifying, sad article by blogger and career advice columnist Penelope Trunk. It chronicles her two abortions — her first when she was in the midst of a professional volleyball career (it was relatively late-term) and the second when her post-volleyball career was “soaring.” Before the first abortion, she learned she was pregnant relatively late — 14 weeks in.

He didn´t think he would give a speech. For quite some time, Roy Costner IV was second among his classmates, and didn´t realize an extra class raised his grade point average enough for him to be the valedictorian of Liberty High School´s Class of 2013. But when the honor was bestowed on him, and he was asked to give the traditional valedictory speech, Costner didn´t want to waste this opportunity to acknowledge the most important influence in his life: his Christian faith.

During his radio show on Friday, Rush Limbaugh told his listeners, “I think abortion is at the root of so much that has and is going wrong in this country.” The conservative host went on to discuss that the reason why amnesty is essential to the liberal agenda is because abortion has, since Roe v. Wade in 1973, wiped out millions of potential taxpayers. The Democrat Party, Limbaugh said, has turned to amnesty as a means to ensure a “permanent underclass” in order to continue its image as the party of big government entitlements.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Politico’s Playbook has an excerpt from a new Ryan Lizza piece from the New Yorker that is not yet online. It contains a passage on the back-and-forth between labor and the Chamber that has a quote from a Rubio staffer that is going to raise eyebrows, to say the least: “There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it. There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly.” Here is the entire context:

Iran is preparing to send 4,000 troops in to Syria to support Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the wake of America´s announcement it will be providing ´military aid´ to the country´s Muslim rebels. President Barack Obama made the pledge earlier this week after the U.S. claimed it found ´conclusive evidence´ Assad´s regime has used chemical weapons against the rebel forces--which includes the most extreme Sunni Islamists--and has called for Britain and France to back the move. While Britain hasn´t made a guarantee either way as yet, more than 350 Royal Marines are being sent to Jordan

Is Marco Rubio, R-Fla., getting played by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.? During his interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl this morning, Rubio didn’t even seem to understand what that meant. “Are you being played by the Democrats?” asked Karl. “Is Chuck Schumer playing you?” “I don’t — I quite frankly, I don’t even know what that means,” Rubio replied. “Is he using you?” Karl continued. “Is he using you to try to accomplish something that the Democrats want and is not — not a conservative bill?” Rubio responded that immigration reform was a bi-partisan issue that “all Americans
