| Mitt Romney continues to hold a seven-point lead in voter trust over President Obama when it comes to the economy, by far the number one voting issue. The candidates remain more closely divided in several other key issue areas, but voters are shifting toward Romney when it comes to national security. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters trust Romney more when it comes to handling the economy. Forty-four percent (44%) trust the president more. Isn't that the magic threshold of over 50%? If more people trust Romney on the economy and the economy remains the No.1 issue and especially if the EU or something else flares up to affect oil, the markets and costs.............? Distraction, distraction......squirrel. It's the 0bama campaign.

I trust Rasmussen more than any other polling group and if they're reporting a seven point lead for Romney concerning trust about the Economy then Obama is in deep dirt regardless what the other polls are saying.

I have been polled by Rasmussen, but didn't know it until later when the results were announced. They were thorough, professional and objective. Trust them.

I would love to see a post-election RE-POLLING of the same people Rasmussen polled to ask them who they actually voted for, and if different from what they said in the poll, why.
There is such a massive disconnect between the key question (For whom would you vote?) and most of the internals that there has to be some significant reason. The first pollster to identify this reason will be doing a major service not just for his profession but also to his country.

There are a couple of terms Romney should consider for the debates... nonsensical gibberish and organic fertilizer.
They could be used to goad Obama into losing his cool with ridicule and at the same time force the media to dwell on what Obama said preceeding such a comment.

I am so down on the people of this country. I feel there are so many people out there that are either stupid or with their head in the sand. I am scared to death that Obama will be elected again and 6 months after that, everyone will be saying, "why did I vote for that guy" because they are not listening to what is going on -- that he is DETERMINED to ruin this country and absolutly takes pleasure in all the bad things he is doing to this coutry because he thinks we deserve it.

I think it would be a HUGE mistake to assume anything about anything and wish to God Romney would take some of the advice (Ron Johnson this a.m. ON KUDLOW FOR EXAMPLE, AS WELL AS Larry himself) being given re: bringing his platform down to the level that the average guy can understand, or even the above average........what will this mean to US and our kids and grandkids? We won't win if this is simply a vote against Obama----we have to have a vote FOR Romney as turnaround artist and someone who UNDERSTANDS what the middle class is facing..

If (when?) Obama wins again he is such a narcissist he will determine that the country loves that he has ruined us and that we want more! Now that I think about it--he will be right. It is hard to believe this country has come to this--folks who pay no attention and spout the ideas floating on the silliness of The View (is there any more insipid bunch of harpies?) or the movie stars with their high school education on PEOPLE mag having more and more babies?!

I dunno. The truth must be brought out. For example, Obama's running all over Ohio bragging about the wonders of his auto bailout. But on FoxNews' WSJ Report today, Ohio Gov Kasich said that although Ohio jobs are up over a 100,000, the auto sector accounts only for about 500. That's right, 500. Ford and GM are down, he says, but Chrylser is up, all tolled 500 jobs from autos. Somebody needs to tell Obama in no uncertain terms to stop misrepresenting this. I know, like that is going to happen. Obama is never encumbered by the truth.

We at Townhall have been covering this hotly contested Senate race for months and the results are finally in: With 36 percent of precincts reporting, Elizabeth Warren has been declared the next junior Senator from Massachusetts. Warren has never held public office before and the eye-popping $40 million she raised this election cycle evidently proved more than enough to unseat incumbent Senator Scott Brown. This was the most expensive Senate race of 2012 -- by a long shot.

The Obama and Romney campaigns may be gearing up for a very late night, with one Obama campaign adviser predicting that in Florida alone, "they'll be counting until 2 a.m." The Obama adviser said signs suggest the race is quite tight, though the campaign claimed to be "holding strong" in key battlegrounds like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The adviser also said turnout among black voters in Virginia was better than expected, suggesting that could be a problem for Mitt Romney. Republican operatives in Virginia, though, predicted a razor-thin victory for their candidate in the state.

A week after Hurricane Sandy slammed into the East Coast, a majority of voters said President Barack Obama’s response to the crisis wasn’t a factor in their vote, according to early exit polls. Fifty-five percent of those surveyed, per CBS News’ early exit polling released by radio station WKZO in Kalamazoo, Mich., said Obama’s handling of the storm was a minor factor in their vote or wasn’t a factor at all. Twenty-six percent named Sandy as an “important” factor, and 15 percent said it was the “most important” factor in their decision.

Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?"
