| Paul Ryan has gone rogue. He is unleashed, unchained, off the hook. “I hate to say this, but if Ryan wants to run for national office again, he’ll probably have to wash the stench of Romney off of him,” Craig Robinson, a former political director of the Republican Party of Iowa, told The New York Times on Sunday. Coming from a resident of Iowa, a state where people are polite even to soybeans, this was a powerful condemnation of the Republican nominee. Though Ryan had already decided to distance himself from the floundering Romney campaign, he now feels totally uninhibited.

Apperently the satire in this article was lost on some way-too-partisan progressives, who actually believe Ryan is calling Romney "Stench". As Simon eventually told BuzzFeed, “Some people always don’t get something, but I figured describing PowerPoint as having been invented to euthanize cattle would make the satire clear. I guess people hate PowerPoint more than I thought.”

A wierd and unfunny satire. At the outset the author quotes a nasty remark uttered by a former Republican Party leader in Iowa, as reported by the New York Times. In an author's note at the end the author mentions Swift and Orwell to his understandably confused reader - satire, get it? Laff riot!!
This election is, you know, like, serious, the future of the nation being in the hands of a spendthrift malignant narcissist whom no one knows anything about and a senate majority leader who is a crook and a nut - stuff like that.
Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

The Demos get to a point where they can't help themselves, and they overdo. It's like the Paul Wellstone funeral.
When they're uber manic, they just turn people off. Independents WON'T be impressed.

I have a sense of humor and I didn't find this pseudo-satire funny at all. Lefties enjoy trying to get other people's goats (see Alinsky, Saul). Conservatives have work to do.
The headline of Attercliffe's post says it all: "Not even the great economists of history can get us out of this fix." Still laughing?

If there's a stench, it's coming from Politico. You can't get any more unprofessional than this piece. This will further damage their already shaky credibility. I'm guessing there are panicky meetings on damage control going on with the JournoList crowd.

Sorry for second reply post, but my reason for posting this article was as a reference for the follow-up actions of demented liberals who completely missed the satire and fell for the story hook, line and sinker -- because they so desperately wanted to believe it. Newsmax is right up there these days as being another upside down site to click to. Today's headline reads "Elderly overwhelming against Romney/Ryan Medicare plan", this in ALL swing states, they reference a just released WA Post poll, that is BS..I saw another poll yesterday where Romney/Ryan were up 16 points with Elderly in Florida..Big swing in 24 hours! Why would Newsmax even headline a Washington POST poll? pffft

I don´t normally display lawn signs or bumper stickers during political campaigns; I usually keep my voting preferences to myself. (That´s the point of secret ballots, right?) But the November 2012 elections got me charged up to the point where I felt the urge to do something public, and since my friends already knew how I felt, I didn´t think I would be divulging any secrets by doing so.

The reason the city rose to international prominence last week quietly left Graham Putnam & Mahoney Funeral Parlors in a nondescript van as night fell Wednesday. The unmarked van carrying the body of suspected Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev glided out into the busy Main South traffic and past the throng of media vehicles that had been camped out in front of the funeral home for almost a week. One of a group of vans that had moved in and out of the parking lot that night, the van belonged to the mortuary.

I found myself in a group conversation that included one of the more instantly recognizable media figures -- someone who personifies the phrase "mainstream media." Since this isn´t something that happens every day, why not make the best of it? Why not ask this VIMP (Very Important Media Person) a question or two on the topics that I frequently criticize the press for not covering? The problem was how to do so without unduly alarming the poor thing. My favorite kinds of questions might be distressing to VIMPs who never ask them, or even seem to think of them.

Many in the American Jewish community are aghast to discover that President Obama is planning to appoint former Senator Chuck Hagel to serve as Defense Secretary. If you want the skinny on how Hagel has come to be known as one of the few ferociously anti-Israel senators in the past generation, Carl from Jerusalem at Israel Matzav provides it. It is hard to gain perspective in the heat of an election battle, particularly when the power of persuasion is driven not by the clarity of an ideological vision, but by the billions in political advertising dollars. Perhaps that is why throughout this bitter and torturous presidential campaign, which began the moment President Barack Obama was elected in 2008, the battle has primarily been fought on economic grounds — one side arguing that the economy which tanked in 2008 was getting better, the other saying it was not, and both sides saying the government needs to reduce spending.

White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement
