| Former House speaker Newt Gingrich ripped President Obama for not meeting with world leaders on his trip to the United Nations on Friday, saying Obama is “not a real president.”
“[Obama] really is like the substitute [National Football League] referees in the sense that he’s not a real president,” Gingrich told Greta Van Susteren on Fox News Tuesday night. “He doesn’t do anything that presidents do, he doesn’t worry about any of the things the presidents do, but he has the White House, he has enormous power, and he’ll go down in history as the president, and I suspect that

He is absolutely right! Obama doesn't do everything a Prseident should. I don't know if it is him or if it is his people that are responsible. Maybe Valerie Jarrett tells him, he doesn't need to do all that stuff. Whatever it is, it is just so wrong. Same goes for how he refuses to be the President of all the citizens. He only acts on behalf of those who agree with his ideology.

I've thought exactly the same from day 1 of this disaster, and cannot bring myself to call this fraud "president" without using scare quotes. The root of this not-real "presidency" is something totally dishonest and subversive, and I'm confident history will end up proving this, once all the facts are known. Maybe between W and Mitt the history books will just show a blank space in their listing of American presidents.

I don't think Newt would have made a good president, but the man does have a way speaking essential truths.
By the way, it's Campaign 101 to let guys like Newt do the bashing and have the candidate himself appear to stand above the fray a little bit. Obama has demonstrably made himself look smaller by getting down into the pit and attacking Romney in his own speeches. The presidency is supposed to be bigger than that, and Romney seems to understand that.

I hope America is not beyond a time when a J. Edgar Hoover style investigation would reveal all the lies and crimes that installed this President. I don't care if he is cancelled because he submitted a forged Selective Service record, stole someone's SS number, or knowingly altered a birth certificate, any reason to open the floodgates of lies will do, but if this country is going to survive, this megacrime has to be revealed. ALL of the 'sealed' records, ALL of the collaborators, need to be exposed. Along with the plotting, propagandists in the media who enabled all of it. I think the chances of any of this happening are almost zero.

Romney will never be able to articulate the message of conservatism and the truth about Obama's radicalism because he is not ideological. This isn't a criticism, but a fact the electorate must face. Romney is a problem-solver and critical-thinking businessman. He is competent, moral, and solid as granite, but we will never see the passion and courage that Newt displays because Newt is ideological in the most conservative sense.
They would both do a good job as President, but Newt has the advantage of making decisions based on conservative ideology. Romney will make all his decisions based on what will solve the problem. That's why people are nervous about him sticking to conservative values and ideas. It's also why he came up with Romneycare...he was trying to solve a problem. And I'm confident he will run the country this way. It may not overturn Obamacare, but it will fix the economy. Romney's not a sell-out by any means and he remains principled in dealing with our allies. All in all, he'd do a good job. ...but he's no Newt.
...and meow to those cats who bag on Calista even now. Ellis the Elephant is a best seller and for that I'm grateful to Mrs. Gingrich. I tire of searching Amazon for children's books that keep scaring my kids into "saving the planet" from evil corporations.

He was not /is not capable of a strong steady course needed to lead this country. Get over it and support the only accepted candidate for president. We at Townhall have been covering this hotly contested Senate race for months and the results are finally in: With 36 percent of precincts reporting, Elizabeth Warren has been declared the next junior Senator from Massachusetts. Warren has never held public office before and the eye-popping $40 million she raised this election cycle evidently proved more than enough to unseat incumbent Senator Scott Brown. This was the most expensive Senate race of 2012 -- by a long shot.

CNN’s Peter Hamby reported that Mitt Romney‘s internal polling showed President Obama leading in Ohio by five percentage points.Per Hamby’s post: The number represented a sharp final bump for Obama in Ohio, a race that had essentially been a tied race through much of the previous week, according to the campaign’s daily tracking. The polling, which also showed a tight race in Pennsylvania, explains why Romney officials decided to send their candidate on last-minute Election Day visits to Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

The Obama and Romney campaigns may be gearing up for a very late night, with one Obama campaign adviser predicting that in Florida alone, "they'll be counting until 2 a.m." The Obama adviser said signs suggest the race is quite tight, though the campaign claimed to be "holding strong" in key battlegrounds like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The adviser also said turnout among black voters in Virginia was better than expected, suggesting that could be a problem for Mitt Romney. Republican operatives in Virginia, though, predicted a razor-thin victory for their candidate in the state.

Washington - Early returns on Tuesday in what is anticipated to be a dead even presidential election contained no surprises, as CNN projected President Barack Obama will win his home state of Illinois and eight other races while Republican challenger Mitt Romney will win nine states. All races called so far went as expected after the roller-coaster ride of an election campaign that was buffeted by a superstorm and missteps on both sides. Obama and Romney ran dead even in final polls that hinted at a result rivaling some of the closest presidential elections in history, reflecting the deep political

A week after Hurricane Sandy slammed into the East Coast, a majority of voters said President Barack Obama’s response to the crisis wasn’t a factor in their vote, according to early exit polls. Fifty-five percent of those surveyed, per CBS News’ early exit polling released by radio station WKZO in Kalamazoo, Mich., said Obama’s handling of the storm was a minor factor in their vote or wasn’t a factor at all. Twenty-six percent named Sandy as an “important” factor, and 15 percent said it was the “most important” factor in their decision.

Mitt Romney is leading among independents in both Ohio and Virginia, early exit polls show. In Ohio, the former Massachusetts governor takes 56 percent of self-identified independents, compared with 40 percent for President Barack Obama. That’s a huge decrease for Obama from 2008, when the exit polls found him winning independents in Ohio by 12 points, 52 percent to 44 percent for John McCain. The numbers are similar but slightly tighter in Virginia: Romney takes 53 percent of independents there, according to ABC News exit polls, a 12-point lead over Obama. In 2008, Obama won independents in the state by

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
