| Let's get this straight. Barack Obama never knew a life of financial hardship. Ditto for Michelle. But the First Couple keeps bringing up their impoverished childhoods and student loan debts in stump speeches. In 2008 Obama reeled in the MTV crowd with an unproven spiel about how he and Michelle's first mortgage was less than their monthly loan payments.(snip)Obama's tale of being raised by a "teenage" mother on food stamps and getting all the way through Harvard Law on student loans is playing again across America.

Food stamps did not exist until 1965, when Barack was 4 years old. Prior to the food stamp program, poor people lined up for the distribution of commodities, including cheese, rice, butter, and the like. JFK called for the creation of a food stamp program for the sake of efficiency, plus it would move surplus farm products into the market. So when Barack talks about being a food stamp baby, he lies, yet again.

Raised in Hawaii by financially well-off grandparents. Went to the best private schools. Attended expensive ivy league colleges due to affirmative action. We have never seen any papers or records that he had a school loan or paid back anything. Had an expensive condo first home in Chicago and no job. Michelle was given a $300,000 per year no-show job as a hospital executive. Obama never had a real job or accomplished anything on his own. A community organizer job inciting people to riot and protest is not a job. He has never had a victory he earned including his elevation to the office of President. All wealth and possessions he/they enjoy were given to him with no sacrifice or effort on his part. I would like to know who really owns their mansion in Chicago and why both Obama's lost their law licenses.

Adding to #2, and at 4 he was moved to Indonesia. Returned to Hawaii at 10 to live with his white grandma and grandpa who by then were doing very well.
And Michelle grew up in solid upper-middle class family of educated parents.

Michelle didn't grow up rich, but she grew up in an intact family, with a father who was the breadwinner and a mother who took the primary role of taking care of the kids. That gave her a huge advantage in life, no matter what her skin color.

Her father was making close to $60,000 in the early sixties. She grew up upper middle class in those days.

And that is precisely why Michelle feels entitled to having taken over 17 expensive, lavish and luxurious vacations all at the taxpayer's expense. We owe it to her, because she grew up poor.

He inherited about 1/2 a million when his grandparents died ... by Obama standards that may be poor.

Well, yeah, but compared to their present status as melanin millionaires [rich due to skin], back then they were "poor."
Oh -- and rich due to a prime spot at the taxpayer-provided trough, too.

Mary Landrieu last Thursday showed what would be, for many of us, appalling ignorance. Debating against the need to build a fence to keep out illegal immigrants -- a proposal which Landrieu had earlier supported -- the Louisiana senator said to Senator Thune from South Dakota: (snip) "the Senator from South Dakota, who only has a border with Canada that is quite different." Consider just how profoundly ignorant that was for any grownup, to say nothing of a senator who chairs the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee.

As the Washington media continues to trip over the stumbling blocks of administration scandals and echoes of Watergate bounce off the buildings across the Potomac River, the question comes to mind: Will there be impeachment hearings this summer as there were in the Summer of ´73? There may indeed be impeachment hearings this summer, but not for President Obama; we may very well see that the House Judiciary Committee convenes hearings on the impeachment of the Attorney General (AG) Eric Holder.

I caught Sarah Palin on Fox & Friends this morning. Wow, talk about a breath of fresh air! While listening to Palin speak on various issues and Obama´s scandals, something occurred to me. Palin on TV fills a desperately needed void. Sarah Palin communicates in plain English, free of the usual guarded TV political speak. Palin fearlessly nailed Obama and company with the truth. Folks, I cannot express how good and hopeful I felt.

Here we are at the midpoint of the Obama years, assailed on every side by looming consequences of liberal hubris and liberal corruption. But the Obama Scandals don´t get me all riled up with partisan outrage. What´s the surprise? If liberals in the media, in the academy, and in politics stigmatize conservatives as monsters, racists, sexists, homophobes, why be surprised that little Lois Lerner wants to please her teacher? Why wouldn´t the Democrats want to do immigration reform and never mind the consequences to low-paid Americans?

There exists a certain real pathos inherent in the NSA´s PRISM program -- and not only because of its attempt to undermine American principles. PRISM, along with its doubtlessly enormous support structure, is based on a worldview that no longer exists among serious intellects (snip) PRISM is much like the other elements of Barack Obama´s great progressive crusade -- ObamaCare, quantitative easing, green economics -- elaborate and expensive systems apt to cause a lot of misery and waste while accomplishing nothing. Liberals like to boast that they are the rational party. But it´s an obsolete rationality

Superman was created in 1938 by Jerome Siegel and Joe Shuster, designed as an adolescent anodyne and savior, in large part, from the hitlerian juggernaut that had sent so many surviving graphic artists and novelists over the oceans for succor. (snip) The Brit Henry Cavill, who plays American Man of Steel without a lapse back into English (joke intended), is certainly handsome enough, but lacks the smooth, seamless facial planes and hauteur of his predecessor. Certainly, Cavill´s physique is peerless, but he seems querulous and even hesitant onscreen as often as he seems commanding.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
