| President Barack Obama’s free ride with enough of the disengaged portion of the electorate to matter may finally be coming to an end. A look at the top two presidential election polls listed at Real Clear Politics on Sunday morning showed the race between Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney in a dead heat. The first, the daily tracking poll at Rasmussen – the most accurate presidential pollster in the 2008 presidential contest — had the 2012 race knotted at 46%. (Pew Research, often cited along with Rasmussen as being the most accurate four years ago,

I believe that almost every conservative sees this as an existential fight for the soul of USA...we will go in droves to the polls to defeat Obama...it won't be close...Fear is GREAT motivator

Aptly put, #1. I slept very badly last night and I know exactly why: fear.

I hope that N. Carolina number is right because Romney isn't spending much on ads here. I can't watch TV without hearing from the preezy how Romney is going to raise middle class tax by 2 grand and give a quarter of a million tax break to the rich, but no rebuttals at all.

#3 - I think the Tarheels are suffering from severe buyer's remorse. No amount of obama ads will change that. Why else would obama be unable to bus in 50,000 nearby slobbering fools, to supplement the 20,000 braying jackasses already in Charlotte for the convention, to fill the Bank of America stadium?

#3, I read somewhere that McCrory is double-digits ahead of Dalton, too! Nov. 6 is gonna be a good night to be a NC conservative!

The buyer's remorse (I don't have any because I didn't buy in the first place!) is indeed severe. And due to a constant drumbeat of Racist! Racist!! it has gone underground. IMO we Conservatives will look back on Nov 7 and wonder what all the hand wringing was about. Meanwhile, as #1 puts it fear is a great motivator.

I just wish for once that the Romney campaign could have the many hour-long free advertisements every week that the Dems have. I'm talking about Saturday Night Live, The View*, Letterman, etc.
*I saw a clip of Obama's interview today (a "news" story on our local news cast) where Baba Walters asks Obama, in a deadly serious voice, if it would be an absolute disaster for America if Mitt Romney were elected president. Obama replies in the same deadly serious manner, that the US can survive a lot, but.... At that point I had to stop watching. This clip is playing over and over during every news cycle on our tv. It makes me physically ill to think of the "undecideds" who watch it and are swayed by such deceit.

I ask myself if Romney is leading with the middle class by 14, married women and independents are trending significantly to Romney. New registrations heavily favor repubs and Hussein can't fill a stadium. Either one of the two sides is lying their asses off or Michelle will be picking drapes for the new Hawaii taxpayer paid mansion.

Well, duh. They know it. They're awake. It is their job to suppress Romney's voter turnout enough so that the cheating can pull Obama over the finish line. Broken glass, people. Offer to drive people to their polling places if they're not sure they can get there. We need the numbers.
If it's not close, they can't steal it.

Dittos 9, but maybe it's time to kick it up a notch: last times "broken glass" should become 2012's "molten glass" !

The president hasn’t attempted to distance himself from the Associated Press snooping campaign. To the contrary, he offered “no apologies.” To be blunt, he approves the most invasive breach of the First Amendment against any news organization in the history of the republic. No president has tried this and for good reason. We now have yet another media abuse story, in a way much more severe. The Post breaks the story that the Obama administration indulged in excruciatingly invasive spying on James Rosen of Fox News and, in an unprecedented move, asserted that his newsgathering is criminal.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

In the days since the Internal Revenue Service first disclosed that it had targeted conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, new information has emerged from both the Treasury Inspector General’s report and congressional testimony Friday that calls into question key statements made by Lois G. Lerner, the IRS’s director of the exempt organizations division. The clumsy way the IRS disclosed the issue as well as Lerner’s press briefing by phone were seen at the time as a public relations disaster.

The Obama administration’s sudden plunge into scandal territory has two aspects — the actual and the political. The first, and most important, has to do with what actually happened. Why did the administration promulgate a false account of the terror attack on Benghazi? Why did the Internal Revenue Service target conservative groups for special scrutiny? Why did the Justice Department act in an unprecedented fashion toward The Associated Press for publishing details of a foiled terror plot the White House was planning to discuss openly the next day?

The birthday party will be modest and understated, in keeping with the man. Sir Nicholas Winton is 104 tomorrow and naturally some of his children will be there to wish him well. Not only his blood offspring but those known as Winton’s Children – the ones he saved from near-certain death three-quarters of a century ago. Nicholas – Nicky – Winton hates to be thought of as a hero, hates being compared with Oskar Schindler or Raoul Wallenberg, but he nevertheless deserves to be mentioned in the same breath.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

PRESIDENT OBAMA: You are the mantle of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington and Ralph Bunche and Langston Hughes and George Washington Carver and Ralph Abernathy and Thurgood Marshall and, yes, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. These men were many things to many people and they knew full well the role that racism played in their life. But when it came to their own accomplishments and sense of purpose, they had no time for excuses. Every one of you has a grandma or an uncle or a parent whose told you at some point in life

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

"Can you see in your mind´s eye a way that this might not have been political, that this was a misguided stupid way to sort, but that they didn´t intend it to be some kind of political attempt to harass the Tea Party?" So actually asked CNN´s Candy Crowley of her guest Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) concerning the Internal Revenue Service scandal Sunday (video follows with transcript and commentary):CANDY CROWLEY, HOST: Moving on to the IRS problem at this moment, which is really sort of in its infancy. There will be lots more hearings coming up this week
