| Good Times: When Trump rattled off a series of economic successes in his State of the Union, he could have added one more. The public´s quality of life has improved sharply in the past two years. "We have created 5.3 million new jobs and, importantly, added 600,000 new manufacturing jobs," Trump said at one point in this address. "Wages are rising at the fastest pace in decades ... . Unemployment has reached the lowest rate in half a century. African-American, Hispanic-American and Asian-American unemployment have all reached their lowest levels ever recorded.

It´s not that the Dims don´t know this. It´s that the Dims don´t want it. They have a word for actual improvement in quality of life: "unfairness".

A large part of the economic success under President Trump is that he has encouraged investment and restored faith in an American future. Investments, business startups, capitalism itself all require that we believe the future can be better and we can make a profit in investing.
Americans invest in the stock market. They hire new workers, believing that their businesses will grow. Manufacturing builds new plants.
All this in opposition to the vision of America presented by the leftist demoncrats, who wish to shut down whole sectors of the economy. Energy, mining, logging, trucking, airlines. No energy, no travel, no food, no hope.

Amid all the hoopla about Democrats wanting to raise taxes on the rich, they are quietly working on a bill that would increase taxes on every working family in America. Why? To fund expanded benefits for baby boomers hitting retirement. The Social Security 2100 Act would hike the combined payroll taxes paid by workers and their employers from 12.4% today to 14.8% by 2043. The bill would also apply the payroll tax on incomes over $400,000. According to the Social Security Administration, in the first 12 years alone, this would amount to a $1.5 trillion tax hike.

Infrastructure: California Gov. Gavin Newsom just pulled the plug on the state´s bullet train boondoggle. President Trump should demand the $3.5 billion the federal government dumped into this black hole back, so he can put it to better use building the border wall. In his State of the State speech, Newsom said he was shelving plans for a high-speed rail line from San Francisco to Los Angeles. A plan plagued with endless delays and massive cost overruns.

Middle-Class Economics: USA Today ran a surprising story on Tuesday headlined "Can the middle-class revival under Trump last?" It´s surprising — shocking really — because it might just be the first time a major news outlet has admitted that there has been a middle-class revival under Trump. We did a search for news stories that used the phrase "middle-class revival" since Trump took office. Other than the USAT story and a syndicated column written a year-and-a-half ago, we found none.

It has been two and a half weeks since Jussie Smollett reported that he was the victim of a hate crime, and in that time, his story has fallen apart completely. (snip) the home of the two "persons of interests" in the widely circulated community alert was raided by Chicago police. In that raid, they seized a list of items including multiple containers of bleach, a "red hat," an Empire script, a Mossberg rifle, and two computers. The GOP Majority Leader in the Senate persuaded President Donald Trump to not veto the GOP’s flawed border security bill by promising to back a national emergency construction of border walls, according to insider leaks to the establishment media. The Washington Post reported that “Trump had been leaning against supporting the congressional spending bill but relented after several conversations with [Majority Leader Sen.
