Don´t sleep on "Spartacus"

In every presidential election cycle, there’s a sleeper — a candidate not expected to get far who catches fire. Sometimes that candidate goes all the way. Barack Obama and Donald Trump did. Other times the candidate falls short, but only after exceeding expectations and, to one degree of another, giving more heralded candidates a scare. Examples are Howard Dean, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, and Bernie Sanders. Sen. Cory Booker might be this year’s sleeper. I say this for several reasons. First, he’s the “blackest” member of the Democratic field, at least so far. Kamala Harris is only half black.

Fourth, Booker is the “hopiest” candidate in the field. His message is relentlessly optimistic.

Unless they´re backed up by common sense and an achievable plan, hope and optimism are a foundation of quicksand.

I wouldn´t think of sleeping on ´Spartacus´ Booker.

But if I run into him on the streets, can I pee on him (or at least his shoes), instead?

I´ve been saying all along that any charlatan with a nice-sounding message will win over the majority of Americans (if you need proof, refer to the previous president).

Boy, are we ever ripe for the Anti-Christ!!!

Booker is about as empty-headed as a bronzed baby shoe. He really has no depth- what once was called "Gravitas" in an era gone by. He is nothing but a walking encyclopedia of talking points he has learned over the years. He is a flaming racist, very much like his idol, Maxine Watters. And he literally has no true joy in him. He imagines himself to be a slave-warrior- a tell given by his "Spartacus" moment. He has accomplished absolutely nothing other than getting himself elected in an equally shallow electorate- But, the big show, a national election, will show his innate imbecility, his almost record shalowness and his lack of ability to understand the more complex ideas of true governance. He is the equivalent of a Maduro "Bus Driver" type who thinks success can come from being a hater of all things he wants other people to hate. Unfortunately, that is not how a prosperous nation´s electorate works. When the primary season really gets underway and he has to stand the tests phase, he will implode like a badly overused shopping bag. Radicalism only works in a room full of other radicals. It is not going to play well in the heartland.

With the obvious exception of POTUS 44, there are a few must haves to win the nomination and then the general election - intelligence, courage, leadership and charisma. Booker seems awfully lacking on all counts. He is following in the Kenyan´s footsteps of being a poster child of affirmative action. IMO he is too stupid to be devious - which is a sine qua non of the Democrat nomination.

The left wants another Obama, and Cory Booker is the one that comes closest. Its early yet, but think this he is the front runner.

Agree with #7. Never underestimate your foe. Nobody gave Obama a chance early on. What the last two Presidents have shown is people do not want business as usual in Washington. That is how we got Obama and Trump.

Sure, never underestimate the depths of depravity to which dems and their ilk will sink. That´s a given.

However, we "did" a Black president with BO already. Check.

As to all Booker´s "hopiness", it hasn´t been long enough for the voters to remember all BO´s hopiness and absolute failure to deliver. Plus it is easy to point to Trump actually delivering jobs and tax breaks to Blacks. There is a growing percentage of Blacks that are "woke" to this reality and the certitude of a solid Black vote for dems may no longer exist.

One blinding thing to remember, Booker is the guy who said "I am Spartacus!". This is a president?

Why Trump will win the wall fight

Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, “If my fellow citizens want to go to hell, I will help them. It is my job.” What he was expressing is the limited role of courts in challenges to federal law. It is not their task as judges to sit as a super legislature to question the priorities or policies of the political branches. They will gladly send Congress to hell. It only needs to be clear about the destination. In the matter of the border wall, Congress could not have been more clear where it was heading.

The percentage of government workers who belong to a union dipped again in 2018 and has hit a 40-year low. Just 33.9 percent of government workers now belong to a union, according to government figures, the lowest point since 1978, and down from a peak of 38.7 percent in the 1990s. Behind those numbers has been the failure of government labor groups to bounce back from a steep decline in government employment that began in 2009. That year, unions boasted 7.897 million government workers. Last year, however, just 7.162 million workers

Following months of complaints from the progressive politicos who control local politics in New York City, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos abruptly canceled plans to open the online retailer´s new corporate headquarters branch in Queens. Amazon had spent more than a year hunting for the location of its new headquarters, baiting cities across the country into falling over themselves and making ridiculous promises in a bid to get Amazon´s 50,000 jobs. The tech giant ultimately settled on splitting its new HQ between New York and Crystal City, Va. New York´s corporate welfare package was especially large, appallingly so.

If Washington, D.C. were a better place, former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe would be swiftly run out of town. He was fired last year for lying to the FBI’s inspector general at least four times regarding serious questions about multiple abuses that occurred while McCabe sat in a powerful and unelected office. These abuses included working with former FBI director James Comey to set up former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus for obstruction charges, slow-walking and sabotaging the investigation of yet unseen Hillary Clinton emails found on Anthony Weiner’s computer just before the 2016 election,

Ex-cardinal McCarrick defrocked

ROME — The Vatican on Saturday said it had stripped ex-cardinal Theodore McCarrick of the rights of the priesthood, leveling a historic penalty against a onetime church power broker and former archbishop of Washington who has been credibly accused of sexual abuse. In a short release, the Vatican said a canonical process had found McCarrick guilty of several charges, including “sins” with minors and adults, “with the aggravating factor of the abuse of power.” McCarrick, the Vatican said, was notified on Friday of the decision. The decision was affirmed by Pope Francis, meaning McCarrick has no further recourse.

Federal authorities seized two massive shipments of cocaine at the same California port of entry in late January. The total for the two shipments was 221 pounds -- the largest at that port in 25 years, according to officials. The busts, which were announced on Friday, were both found aboard ships at Port Hueneme in Ventura County, about 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles, coming from Central and South America. The first shipment, which was 204.2 pounds, was seized on Jan. 22 on a cargo ship from Ecuador. Six days later, the same authorities found a seven-bundle, 17.5-pound shipment

The most egregious anti-democratic actions ever taken by the what can now fairly be called the Deep State are confirmed with the publication of fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe’s new book detailing how the FBI and Justice Department plotted to remove President Trump from office for firing FBI Director James Comey. Justice Department and FBI officials spied on U.S. citizens with false warrants, gave a pass to one presidential campaign with a predetermined investigation, investigated another political campaign on the basis of no verified evidence, and illegally leaked information on investigations. They discussed wiretapping and using the 25th Amendment

It has been two and a half weeks since Jussie Smollett reported that he was the victim of a hate crime, and in that time, his story has fallen apart completely. (snip) the home of the two "persons of interests" in the widely circulated community alert was raided by Chicago police. In that raid, they seized a list of items including multiple containers of bleach, a "red hat," an Empire script, a Mossberg rifle, and two computers. The home is occupied by the two men, and at least one is an extra on Jussie Smollett´s show, Empire.

Explaining that building the border wall was Trump’s mandate, Coulter said, “It was one thing, the promise he made every single day at every single speech.” She added, “So forget the fact that he’s digging his own grave. This is just — look the only national emergency is that our president is an idiot.” Coulter did praise the president regarding the courts by saying, “In defense of Trump supporters and those who fell for his

Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.) is running to become the first black female president. But in the early days of the campaign, she’s had to answer questions about the “legitimacy” of her “blackness.” Online, stories have circulated suggesting that Harris is not African American because her parents are immigrants and she spent some of her childhood in Canada. During an appearance on “The Breakfast Club” radio show Monday, hosts DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God asked Harris about that. Harris pushed back. “I’m black, and I’m proud of being black. I was born black. I will die black,”

The GOP Majority Leader in the Senate persuaded President Donald Trump to not veto the GOP’s flawed border security bill by promising to back a national emergency construction of border walls, according to insider leaks to the establishment media. The Washington Post reported that “Trump had been leaning against supporting the congressional spending bill but relented after several conversations with [Majority Leader Sen. Mitch] McConnell, who then announced his agreement to go along with an emergency declaration.” One reason for Trump’s last-minute opposition is that congressional leaders conducted the negotiations without significant White House involvement.

The two hottest commodities in the Democratic Party are Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Earlier this week, Omar exhibited stunning ignorance in her hostile questioning of Elliott Adams Abrams. Similarly, Ocasio-Cortez has often displayed a surprising lack of knowledge for someone who apparently is a college graduate. Don’t get me started on the “Green New Socialism.” But she outdid herself yesterday. The context was Amazon’s announcement that it would not, after all, build a second corporate headquarters in Long Island City, which I understand is close to, but not within, Ocasio-Cortez’s district. The project reportedly would have entailed
