Best and worst moments
from Grammy Awards 2019

New York Post, by Chuck Arnold

After a one-year stint in New York, the Recording Academy returned to Los Angeles’ Staples Center for Grammys 2019, the 61st annual edition of music’s biggest night. Still, the Big Apple was represented by New York’s own Alicia Keys helming the festivities as the first female host in 14 years. And the big winner was country-pop star Kacey Musgraves, who brought home four gramophones, including Album of the Year for “Golden Hour.” But as always, it was mostly about the performances. (Yes, Janelle! No, Jennifer!) From moving acceptance speeches to rousing live sets,

My personal best moment: all night. Didn’t watch. Didn’t even know they were on. And reading the article, I know about 3 of the performers. Besides, they don’t make “artists”’ like they used to.

I spent the evening watching some paint dry. Well, actually, it was already dry - but I watched the dry paint while sort of replaying what it looked like when it WAS drying during last year´s Grammy´s.

"Awards" shows are just fashion shows and narcissistic envy fests. No desire to watch--no talent to see.

I miss the days of the Eagles, Chicago, Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, and Pat Benatar.

What disguises itself as music is no worth the time. I couldn´t get back those hours of my life. Same goes for the Oscars.

These award shows are just a gathering of people who think they are special. They start and finish their shows congratulating themselves. They couldn´t hold a candle to the stars of yesteryear. Also they would have worn clothes that covered the essential parts of their bodies.
I think those times were referred to as glamorous. There is nothing glamorous about Hollyweird today. All skin, all tight, all see-through, tons of cleavage and an assumption that only sex sells. No talent required.

State Department email records show that environmental activists who have denied operating as foreign agents in response to congressional inquiries partnered with Obama administration officials to advance climate change policies that were beneficial to China and detrimental to the United States, according to energy policy analysts and attorneys who have reviewed the electronic correspondence. The World Resources Institute, a Washington D.C.-based nonprofit devoted to curtailing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable development, was one of several environmental advocacy groups that received letters from the House Natural Resources Committee in 2018 inquiring about their relationship with China´s government and the impact

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the movie theatre, for entertainment and not progressive indoctrination, think again. Netflix just paid a record $10 million for a hagiographic documentary on Democratic starlet Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. After the demonization of Dick Cheney in Vice and canonization of Ruth Bader Ginsburg in On the Basis of Sex both deservedly flopped last year, Hollywood is going full speed ahead on political fare, as always only in the left lane. Studio bosses never let such trifles as box-office poison change their social justice warrior ways. Netflix outbid Hulu,

A federal fund created to assist victims of the 9/11 terror attacks will slash payments by at least 50 percent as it struggles to deal with a surge of new claims, officials said Friday. Victims with existing claims will have payments slashed in half while claims filed after Feb. 1 of this year would see deeper cuts of up to 70 percent, they said. September 11th Victim Compensation Fund special master Rupa Bhattacharyya said the fund received a “record number of claims” last year and that she’s “painfully aware of the inequity of the situation.”

Right now, the Democratic presidential field includes nine declared candidates: New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg, former HUD secretary Julian Castro, Maryland Representative John Delaney, Hawaii Representative Tulsi Gabbard, New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, California Senator Kamala Harris, Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren. In the coming weeks and months, the field may grow to include former vice president Joe Biden, former New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg, Ohio senator Sherrod Brown, former Colorado governor John Hickenlooper, Washington governor Jay Inslee, former Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe, former attorney general Eric Holder,

And now it’s time for the rest of the story about crooked G-man Andrew McCabe. This is important as we prepare for a weekend of unctuous oohing and ahhing in the alt-left media over the fired FBI director. Sunday night he’ll be treated as a conquering hero on “60 Minutes,” that perennial destination for dodgy Democrats down through the decades. He’ll be portrayed as the greatest lawman since Wyatt Earp, because after becoming the head fed in May 2017 he immediately opened the phony-baloney Russia “investigation” of President Trump. “I was very concerned that I was able

The other day all the major new outlets were covering a story about Elizabeth Warren saying on the campaign trail in Iowa that Donald Trump “might not even be a free person” but rather in jail at the time of the 2020 Presidential election. Call this phenomenon the “hypothetical news.” Donald Trump might launch a preemptive nuclear attack on North Korea. Donald Trump might withdraw from NATO. Donald Trump might fire his Chief of Staff. Donald Trump might be crazy. More subtle examples of hypothetical news are: there is “widespread concern on Wall Street” that Donald Trump might fire

It has been two and a half weeks since Jussie Smollett reported that he was the victim of a hate crime, and in that time, his story has fallen apart completely. (snip) the home of the two "persons of interests" in the widely circulated community alert was raided by Chicago police. In that raid, they seized a list of items including multiple containers of bleach, a "red hat," an Empire script, a Mossberg rifle, and two computers. The home is occupied by the two men, and at least one is an extra on Jussie Smollett´s show, Empire.

Friday on KABC radio in Los Angeles, conservative commentator Ann Coulter reacted to President Donald Trump saying she was “off the reservation,” during his press conference this morning. Explaining that building the border wall was Trump’s mandate, Coulter said, “It was one thing, the promise he made every single day at every single speech.” She added, “So forget the fact that he’s digging his own grave. This is just — look the only national emergency is that our president is an idiot.” Coulter did praise the president regarding the courts by saying, “In defense of Trump supporters and those who fell for his

Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.) is running to become the first black female president. But in the early days of the campaign, she’s had to answer questions about the “legitimacy” of her “blackness.” Online, stories have circulated suggesting that Harris is not African American because her parents are immigrants and she spent some of her childhood in Canada. During an appearance on “The Breakfast Club” radio show Monday, hosts DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God asked Harris about that. Harris pushed back. “I’m black, and I’m proud of being black. I was born black. I will die black,”

President Donald Trump demanded Wednesday evening that the State of California return $3.5 billion in federal funds after Gov. Gavin Newsom canceled most of the state’s high-speed rail project, saying it was too expensive. “California has been forced to cancel the massive bullet train project after having spent and wasted many billions of dollars,” the president tweeted. “They owe the Federal Government three and a half billion dollars. We want that money back now. Whole project is a “green” disaster!”

The GOP Majority Leader in the Senate persuaded President Donald Trump to not veto the GOP’s flawed border security bill by promising to back a national emergency construction of border walls, according to insider leaks to the establishment media. The Washington Post reported that “Trump had been leaning against supporting the congressional spending bill but relented after several conversations with [Majority Leader Sen. Mitch] McConnell, who then announced his agreement to go along with an emergency declaration.” One reason for Trump’s last-minute opposition is that congressional leaders conducted the negotiations without significant White House involvement.

The two hottest commodities in the Democratic Party are Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Earlier this week, Omar exhibited stunning ignorance in her hostile questioning of Elliott Adams Abrams. Similarly, Ocasio-Cortez has often displayed a surprising lack of knowledge for someone who apparently is a college graduate. Don’t get me started on the “Green New Socialism.” But she outdid herself yesterday. The context was Amazon’s announcement that it would not, after all, build a second corporate headquarters in Long Island City, which I understand is close to, but not within, Ocasio-Cortez’s district. The project reportedly would have entailed

Weld, who served as governor in the Bay State from 1991 to 1997, was the Libertarian Party
