Pennsylvania paper drops syndicated
cartoon over Trump insult

At least one newspaper says it has dropped the syndicated cartoon "Non Sequitur" after a vulgar message to President Donald Trump appeared in it. The Butler Eagle in Pennsylvania reported Sunday that the "shot at President Donald Trump" will cost cartoonist Wiley Miller "his place in the Eagle´s Sunday comics." A scribbled message in one panel of that day´s cartoon appears to begin with "We fondly say go ..." followed by the message to Trump. Ron Vodenichar, Eagle publisher and general manager, said in the paper that the paper was alerted about the message by a reader and included a syndicated comic strip.

So in a panel resembling a schematic there are seven or eight small labels with arrows identifying features of the drawing. All are more or less illegible, except the last, bottom right, which appears to say, without these Lucianne courtesy hyphens, "We fondly [say?] Go f--- yourself up Trump."

I´m not surprised at the political angle; the anti-Trump anger in the cartoonist makes itself clear often.

I AM surprised at his slipping the F-bomb into the Sunday comics.

Are the editors now expected to either accept this, and leave explaining it to parents? Or are they expected to spend time inspecting comics to see if they can catch clever subterfuges?

I can confidently say that had a strip a decade ago had the same message directed at President Obama, the cartoonist would be out of a career.

I´ve heard that word all of my life, and am not sure why current lefties seem to think that it is funny or creative. It is getting kind of old.

One of the funnier episodes of The Office had a situation in the company´s paper mill where a worker used a water mark that depicted two Disney animal characters having sex.
The quality control person at Dunder-Mifflin, Creed, who did no quality control at all, ever, managed to get a woman fired, even though he should have caught it.
But the explanation by Dwight Schrute to an irate customer was priceless.
"The sex is consensual, and they seem to be enjoying it."

I used to enjoy reading non-sequitur. But right after the election the writer clearly indicated he suffers from TDS, and I have no interest in that garbage.

Haven´t read it in over two years.

Typical leftist. Thinks he is so clever, but is afraid to do anything other than shout vulgarities when he thinks no one else is listening.

As a kid over 60´s years ago, I remember when the comics were actually comics. Many years ago the Seattle Times removed Doonebury from the cartoon section and placed it on the editorial page, or was it on the obituary page. I think if it still runs, it is back on the comic section. I canceled the Seattle Times, the day, on the front page, below the fold. They blamed Rush Limbuagh for Timothy McVeighs horrifying actions in Ohlahoma. It took me five minutes to find their number and said that paper better never appear on my front porch again.

Why Trump will win the wall fight

Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, “If my fellow citizens want to go to hell, I will help them. It is my job.” What he was expressing is the limited role of courts in challenges to federal law. It is not their task as judges to sit as a super legislature to question the priorities or policies of the political branches. They will gladly send Congress to hell. It only needs to be clear about the destination. In the matter of the border wall, Congress could not have been more clear where it was heading.

The percentage of government workers who belong to a union dipped again in 2018 and has hit a 40-year low. Just 33.9 percent of government workers now belong to a union, according to government figures, the lowest point since 1978, and down from a peak of 38.7 percent in the 1990s. Behind those numbers has been the failure of government labor groups to bounce back from a steep decline in government employment that began in 2009. That year, unions boasted 7.897 million government workers. Last year, however, just 7.162 million workers

Following months of complaints from the progressive politicos who control local politics in New York City, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos abruptly canceled plans to open the online retailer´s new corporate headquarters branch in Queens. Amazon had spent more than a year hunting for the location of its new headquarters, baiting cities across the country into falling over themselves and making ridiculous promises in a bid to get Amazon´s 50,000 jobs. The tech giant ultimately settled on splitting its new HQ between New York and Crystal City, Va. New York´s corporate welfare package was especially large, appallingly so.

If Washington, D.C. were a better place, former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe would be swiftly run out of town. He was fired last year for lying to the FBI’s inspector general at least four times regarding serious questions about multiple abuses that occurred while McCabe sat in a powerful and unelected office. These abuses included working with former FBI director James Comey to set up former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus for obstruction charges, slow-walking and sabotaging the investigation of yet unseen Hillary Clinton emails found on Anthony Weiner’s computer just before the 2016 election,

Ex-cardinal McCarrick defrocked

ROME — The Vatican on Saturday said it had stripped ex-cardinal Theodore McCarrick of the rights of the priesthood, leveling a historic penalty against a onetime church power broker and former archbishop of Washington who has been credibly accused of sexual abuse. In a short release, the Vatican said a canonical process had found McCarrick guilty of several charges, including “sins” with minors and adults, “with the aggravating factor of the abuse of power.” McCarrick, the Vatican said, was notified on Friday of the decision. The decision was affirmed by Pope Francis, meaning McCarrick has no further recourse.

Federal authorities seized two massive shipments of cocaine at the same California port of entry in late January. The total for the two shipments was 221 pounds -- the largest at that port in 25 years, according to officials. The busts, which were announced on Friday, were both found aboard ships at Port Hueneme in Ventura County, about 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles, coming from Central and South America. The first shipment, which was 204.2 pounds, was seized on Jan. 22 on a cargo ship from Ecuador. Six days later, the same authorities found a seven-bundle, 17.5-pound shipment

The most egregious anti-democratic actions ever taken by the what can now fairly be called the Deep State are confirmed with the publication of fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe’s new book detailing how the FBI and Justice Department plotted to remove President Trump from office for firing FBI Director James Comey. Justice Department and FBI officials spied on U.S. citizens with false warrants, gave a pass to one presidential campaign with a predetermined investigation, investigated another political campaign on the basis of no verified evidence, and illegally leaked information on investigations. They discussed wiretapping and using the 25th Amendment

It has been two and a half weeks since Jussie Smollett reported that he was the victim of a hate crime, and in that time, his story has fallen apart completely. (snip) the home of the two "persons of interests" in the widely circulated community alert was raided by Chicago police. In that raid, they seized a list of items including multiple containers of bleach, a "red hat," an Empire script, a Mossberg rifle, and two computers. The home is occupied by the two men, and at least one is an extra on Jussie Smollett´s show, Empire.

Friday on KABC radio in Los Angeles, conservative commentator Ann Coulter reacted to President Donald Trump saying she was “off the reservation,” during his press conference this morning. Explaining that building the border wall was Trump’s mandate, Coulter said, “It was one thing, the promise he made every single day at every single speech.” She added, “So forget the fact that he’s digging his own grave. This is just — look the only national emergency is that our president is an idiot.” Coulter did praise the president regarding the courts by saying, “In defense of Trump supporters and those who fell for his

Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.) is running to become the first black female president. But in the early days of the campaign, she’s had to answer questions about the “legitimacy” of her “blackness.” Online, stories have circulated suggesting that Harris is not African American because her parents are immigrants and she spent some of her childhood in Canada. During an appearance on “The Breakfast Club” radio show Monday, hosts DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God asked Harris about that. Harris pushed back. “I’m black, and I’m proud of being black. I was born black. I will die black,”

The GOP Majority Leader in the Senate persuaded President Donald Trump to not veto the GOP’s flawed border security bill by promising to back a national emergency construction of border walls, according to insider leaks to the establishment media. The Washington Post reported that “Trump had been leaning against supporting the congressional spending bill but relented after several conversations with [Majority Leader Sen. Mitch] McConnell, who then announced his agreement to go along with an emergency declaration.” One reason for Trump’s last-minute opposition is that congressional leaders conducted the negotiations without significant White House involvement.

The two hottest commodities in the Democratic Party are Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Earlier this week, Omar exhibited stunning ignorance in her hostile questioning of Elliott Adams Abrams. Similarly, Ocasio-Cortez has often displayed a surprising lack of knowledge for someone who apparently is a college graduate. Don’t get me started on the “Green New Socialism.” But she outdid herself yesterday. The context was Amazon’s announcement that it would not, after all, build a second corporate headquarters in Long Island City, which I understand is close to, but not within, Ocasio-Cortez’s district. The project reportedly would have entailed
