The Shutdown

As the government shutdown took its toll, Washington DC assumed the unfamiliar aspect of a city going through hard times. “It’s like a ghost city — totally dead. ... When other parts of the country suffered during the Great Recession, the area around the nation’s capital boomed.” But now the shoe is on the other foot. (Snip) The question everybody is asking is: who will blink first? Trump or Congress. It seems apparent that neither can afford to. It has been evident for some time that the Left will settle for nothing else but the president´s

This is total claptrap about how DC is suffering. That is a big lie, and it should not be written, and published.

My nephew works for a company that does contract work with the federal government. He is not working now due to the shutdown. I doubt he will receive back pay when this is over like the federal workers.

This is going to really hurt people when they miss their second paycheck.

I´ve been in the workplace all my life as an employee as well as self employed ... and have not retired yet.
There´s no guarantee whether a W-2 or 1099 that we will get paid when we expect to be paid. Anything can happen at any time. That´s life.

The Democrats don´t care about peoples paychecks. In fact, they want to steal from everyones paycheck by raising taxes.

Regarding this shutdown, the finger needs to be pointed straight to one person...
Nancy Pelosi.
She´s created this mess by not comprising. She should not talk about immoral.

Yes Nancy, get ready for consequences.

Hopefully the leftist and liberal career lawyer-politicians in DC who are in charge of the Democrats will figure out pretty soon that they are messing with a junkyard dog who has no intention of caving for them and not past pretty wimpy Republican Presidents.

Nobody suffers. It is a paid vacation.

Let it run until the Dems cave. Do not go to the emergency declaration, the Dems will just do the illegal court block route.

Real question is what will be required to reach a compromiss? For ex, Trump gets $3.5 billion rather than $5.7 billion while 2 million or more DACA types receive easy pathway to citizenship? And, since Trump’s wants $5.7 to start the barrier but requires another $20 billion + to complete it, will all 20 million illegals already here be granted amnesty to come out of the shadows that they were never in?

While President Trump is adamant about the Wall, the herd of RINOs who occupy the House and Senate will be pressuring him for a compromise. Since politics is the art of deceiving about your compromise, the next few weeks are going to be interesting.

Maybe the government can cut some costs and save some money, by shutting down Nanny P´s high dollar/ booze flight home. And all members of Congress can fly economy, to show how much they care for the little folks. And a pox on this back-pay stuff. They´re not working, so what are they going to get paid for, sucking at the public teat?

At this point, I wouldn´t be surprised if the true number was 50 million.

We´ve been lied to for at least 3 decades, and during that time, more came in.

The liberal media were quick to pounce on the recent killings in Christchurch, New Zealand—loudly and frequently. This was to be expected as New Zealand is largely a white western culture, and therefore afforded “most favored status” among mostly white, mostly liberal, western media. The murders that occurred during the same period in Nigeria, although greater in number, were largely ignored because (1) the victims were black, and (2) worse, Christian blacks, and (3) worse still, African Christian blacks, so who cares? . Africa is still to many Western minds a vast, unmapped continent…even the most liberal and global

NEW YORK CITY—Goodbye, snowcapped peaks; hello, swampy brown East River. So long, fresh alpine air; greetings, choking diesel fumes. Adios, cows and cuckoo clocks; welcome, filthy island packed to the gills with angry, mean, squat Trump haters who live in decrepit buildings they share with rats. Yes, back to the city that never sleeps, and whose residents are perennially offended. This is the bad news, the good being that the word “Brexit” means nothing over here, nada, as our Hispanic cousins crawling all over the place say. Instead of the B-word we have the S one, as in the

When freshman Congresswoman Ilhan Omar came out with smears whose anti-Semitic nature couldn’t be denied, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer responded rapidly, with unequivocal denunciation. But when Pelosi tried to steer a resolution condemning anti-Semitism through the House, her party’s young radicals, who rightly view themselves as representative of the Democrats’ base, rebelled. Omar and her fellow “progressives” won the day, and Pelosi replaced her anti-Semitism resolution with one so anodyne that Omar happily voted for it. Yesterday, the arch-leftist group MoveOn denounced the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), which has until now enjoyed broad bipartisan support, and urged

The news cycle is so unnaturally shrill as if it was the status quo itself was screaming. From unenacted policies to the automatic assignment of blame to Western civilization the news cycle has become one continuous rant. Referring to the root causes of the Christchurch mosque massacre a Slate article argued: "we are a nation born of shame. A white-majority Australia exists only as the result of a genocidal invasion." Speech has never been more dangerous nor points of view more opposed. When the demand isn´t "why didn´t you denounce this" or "why didn´t you apologize for that"

This week George Conway, a Republican lawyer and prominent critic of Donald Trump who happens to be married to presidential adviser Kellyanne Conway, diagnosed the president with "narcissistic personality disorder." Trump responded by calling Conway "a total loser," then, upon reflection, a "stone cold LOSER & husband from hell!" It is tempting to conclude that Conway was the winner of this exchange. His insult was certainly more detailed, and it seemed more sophisticated as well, relying on the supposedly scientific authority of the American Psychiatric Association´s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). But the spat illustrates psychiatry´s pernicious

Failure to prosecute Hillary Clinton

The failure of former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and the Department of Justice to prosecute former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for alleged breaches of 18 U.S. Code §?793. Gathering, transmitting or losing defense information (the Code) is an issue that will come to the fore in the 2020 elections. Clinton’s escape from prosecution during the height of the 2016 election campaign has gained a new head of steam following release of the transcript of evidence given to the Committee on the Judiciary, US House of Representatives, in July 2018, by former senior FBI Lawyer Lisa Page. . Florida, with its plentiful beaches, warm weather, and lack of a state income tax, is the most popular destination for older adults in the U.S. But some who have lived in the Sunshine State for years are moving in the opposite direction. As damaging storms and other effects of climate change have hit Florida particularly hard in the past few years, some older adults living there have become concerned about their safety and their ability to enjoy retirement. So they’re fleeing this otherwise balmy state. About 52,630 people ages 65 and over left Florida in 2017, versus 48,174 in

Democrat 2020 candidate Robert “Beto” O’Rourke warned from the campaign trail in South Carolina Friday night there may not be another year of America if the Mueller report is not made public. “Republicans and Democrats should do whatever they can to make sure their constituents, the American people, can read that report, form their own judgement, make their own decisions, and that the truth comes out,” O’Rourke said at a campaign stop in South Carolina Friday. O’Rourke warned that America may not see another year if details of Russian interference in the 2016 election included in the Mueller report are

Barbra Streisand is under fire for comments she made about two men accusing Michael Jackson of sexually assaulting them as children. The legendary singer and actress said that Wade Robson and James Safechuck — whose allegations against the late King of Pop resurfaced in the recent documentary “Leaving Neverland" — “were thrilled to be there” and that what allegedly happened to them “didn’t kill them." Streisand, 76, made the strange comments to British newspaper The Times in a piece out Friday, in which she also said that Jackson’s “sexual needs were his sexual needs.”

The San Antonio City Council banned Chick-fil-A from San Antonio International Airport over “anti-LGBTQ behavior” as part of a new concession plan for the airport. District 1 City Councilman Roberto Treviño motioned to approve the Food, Beverage and Retail Prime Concession Agreement with Paradies Lagardère for the airport Thursday on condition Chick-fil-A be excluded from the agreement. Treviño asserted Chick-fil-A has a “legacy of anti-LGBTQ behavior” and that such a business had no place in the city’s airport. Even though we do not yet know exactly what the Mueller Report says, we do now know that no other indictments are in the works. No collusion with Russia by the Trump campaign was found. So, the self-assured and confident predictions by so many on the left that they had seen "cold, hard evidence," and that Mueller would find copious evidence of "collusion" with Russia, was just wishful thinking alone. They all had to know the infamous "dossier" was faked.

This spelling and grammar test from the 1980s is so difficult that it is claimed no one can get more than 50 per cent of the answers right. The 20-question quiz promises to leave even the brightest brains scratching their heads. Indeed it is so tricky that its creator, Playbuzz user Terry Stein, claims players will ´never´ be able to score more than 10 out of 20. So if you think you have what it takes then scroll down to take the test in full. But the answers are at the bottom - so no cheating...

The Washington National Cathedral disputed President Trump´s claim that he had to "approve" the funeral of the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). "Washington National Cathedral was honored to host the funeral service for Senator John McCain. All funerals and memorial services at the Cathedral are organized by the family of the deceased; only a state funeral for a former president involves consultation with government officials," a cathedral spokesperson said in a statement to The Hill on Thursday. "No funeral at the Cathedral requires the approval of the president or any other government official," he added.
