NBC´s myth of sawing
through the wall

NBC reporters showed they know as much about saws as they do AR-15s.The network reported, "President Donald Trump has repeatedly advocated for a steel slat design for his border wall, which he described as ´absolutely critical to border security´ in his Oval Office address to the nation Tuesday. But Department of Homeland Security testing of a steel slat prototype proved it could be cut through with a saw, according to a report by DHS. The creativity of American forum posters is impressive. From the comments after the article:

Worse than just solid steel, those are hollow and filled with concrete. These would be a b**** to cut through. You´d need to torch this a long time as the concrete would suck up the heat. Sawing it won´t work well as most blades that cut steel well are dulled quickly cutting into concrete. Chuck a few pieces of rebar in there in the center of the concrete and it would be much more difficult. Make it really exciting by embedding smallish explosives occasionally.

A beautiful mind!

I guess they rehired the guy who faked the truck explosions from years back in 1993. I think it was an old Dateline skit where they added incendary devices to ensure a fire would erupt if gasoline leaked from a GMC truck hit by a test car.

NBC had to broadcast a retraction by Stone Phillips and Jane Pauly.

I doubt they´ll do that this time.

Hogwash. I used to have a portable oxyacetylene rig that TOTAL weighed about 45-50 lbs, max, nicely unitized. However, that does have pretty limited cutting time.

It is OBVIOUS to anyone with a brain that ANY fence made of ANYTHING can be cut, breached, blown up, whatever.

No wall can stand without defenses. Walls delay, inconvenience and block. The people with guns are the real block, and will arrive as soon as the wall is attacked, if proper sensors are in place.

The beauty here is that illegal alien-caused damage to the fence could be easily repaired strong as ever. Cut the jagged edges off square, then prep and weld in new material.
If I were some coyote or drug runner boss rolling up in a pickup with pressurized oxygen and acetylene tanks in the back to cut through the Americanos’ fence I’d be nervous about a hunter’s stray bullet causing an explosion.

#5, excellent point. Acetylene is EXCEPTIONALLY energetic, has caused some truly shockingly destructive explosions.

Key Findings Coming on Mueller
Report — But Not Quite Yet
Associated Press, by Staff    Original Article

WASHINGTON — Attorney General William Barr spent Saturday reviewing the special counsel’s confidential report on the Trump-Russia investigation, but Barr’s “principal conclusions” summary for Congress was not coming for at least another day. No summary for Judiciary Committee leaders — or the public — just yet, said a senior Justice Department official, speaking only on condition of anonymity because the person wasn’t authorized to publicly discuss the review process. Barr has said he expected to send his version to the lawmakers as soon as this weekend after determining what should be made public.

According to most media reporting AG William Barr is meeting with Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein today and reviewing the completed Mueller report. At the end of this review, according to statute, AG Barr will commission a “Principle Conclusion” summary report that he will deliver to congress.(Snip) it is likely the White House will be given the Principle Conclusion Summary around the same time as congress. The White House (executive branch) may also be able to review the full underlying documentation behind the summary…. that’s likely where the political fight for the ‘narrative’ will take place.

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s advisers are reportedly asking him to consider pledging to just serve one term in office if he wins his party’s nomination and faces off against President Donald Trump in the general election. (Snip)Biden’s advisers are discussing “a possible pledge to serve only one term” and framing Biden’s 2020 campaign “as a one-time rescue mission for a beleaguered country.” Biden is reportedly “uneasy with the prospect of pledging up front not to seek re-election,” though, “believing that it would make him a lame-duck president before he even takes office and cripple his ability to get anything done.”

Saturday on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) offered his thoughts on the completion of Department of Justice special counsel Robert Mueller’s report, which was submitted to Attorney General William Barr a day earlier. Lewis insisted Congress will demand the report be released to the public. The Georgia Democrat also said he still believed President Donald Trump’s impeachment was still inevitable. “I think that day will come,” Lewis said when asked by Reid about impeachment prospects. “I don’t think he’s legitimate. I said it back at the end of the election. I still believe that today.”

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) on Friday told CNN´s Wolf Blitzer his committee is prepared to subpoena Special Counsel Robert Mueller and Attorney General William Barr over the contents of Mueller´s report. If Barr withholds information Schiff and his buddies deem "significant." Schiff "If necessary, we will call Bob Mueller or others before our committee," Schiff explained. He also said he believes the House Judiciary Committee "called the Attorney General [William Barr]" before them. Speaking at a naturalization ceremony in Texas on March 18, former President George W. Bush said immigration to America “is a blessing and a strength.” He also said that “borders need to be respected,” and praised the work of border patrol agents, but that’s not what the media seized upon.(SnipGet it? George W. Bush has won his grim battle with history. Various photos showed him inviting dozens of new citizens up to the podium, including Muslims in headscarves, Hispanics, and Africans. Apparently including anyone of European descent would have been bad optics.

Robert Mueller’s investigation is done. There will be no more indictments and the existing indictments have nothing to do with his warrant—namely, claims that Donald Trump’s presidential campaign “colluded” with Russia to sway the 2016 presidential election. You’re hearing and reading a lot of spin (and wishful thinking) right now.(Snip) But if you would like a bit of prescient clarity about all of this, I suggest reading—or re-reading, as the case may be—Victor Davis Hanson’s essay, “Autopsy of a Dead Coup,” which made a bit of a splash in mid-February. Florida, with its plentiful beaches, warm weather, and lack of a state income tax, is the most popular destination for older adults in the U.S. But some who have lived in the Sunshine State for years are moving in the opposite direction. As damaging storms and other effects of climate change have hit Florida particularly hard in the past few years, some older adults living there have become concerned about their safety and their ability to enjoy retirement. So they’re fleeing this otherwise balmy state. About 52,630 people ages 65 and over left Florida in 2017, versus 48,174 in

Barbra Streisand is under fire for comments she made about two men accusing Michael Jackson of sexually assaulting them as children. The legendary singer and actress said that Wade Robson and James Safechuck — whose allegations against the late King of Pop resurfaced in the recent documentary “Leaving Neverland" — “were thrilled to be there” and that what allegedly happened to them “didn’t kill them." Streisand, 76, made the strange comments to British newspaper The Times in a piece out Friday, in which she also said that Jackson’s “sexual needs were his sexual needs.”

The San Antonio City Council banned Chick-fil-A from San Antonio International Airport over “anti-LGBTQ behavior” as part of a new concession plan for the airport. District 1 City Councilman Roberto Treviño motioned to approve the Food, Beverage and Retail Prime Concession Agreement with Paradies Lagardère for the airport Thursday on condition Chick-fil-A be excluded from the agreement. Treviño asserted Chick-fil-A has a “legacy of anti-LGBTQ behavior” and that such a business had no place in the city’s airport. Even though we do not yet know exactly what the Mueller Report says, we do now know that no other indictments are in the works. No collusion with Russia by the Trump campaign was found. So, the self-assured and confident predictions by so many on the left that they had seen "cold, hard evidence," and that Mueller would find copious evidence of "collusion" with Russia, was just wishful thinking alone. They all had to know the infamous "dossier" was faked.

This spelling and grammar test from the 1980s is so difficult that it is claimed no one can get more than 50 per cent of the answers right. The 20-question quiz promises to leave even the brightest brains scratching their heads. Indeed it is so tricky that its creator, Playbuzz user Terry Stein, claims players will ´never´ be able to score more than 10 out of 20. So if you think you have what it takes then scroll down to take the test in full. But the answers are at the bottom - so no cheating...

The Washington National Cathedral disputed President Trump´s claim that he had to "approve" the funeral of the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). "Washington National Cathedral was honored to host the funeral service for Senator John McCain. All funerals and memorial services at the Cathedral are organized by the family of the deceased; only a state funeral for a former president involves consultation with government officials," a cathedral spokesperson said in a statement to The Hill on Thursday. "No funeral at the Cathedral requires the approval of the president or any other government official," he added.
