You may have heard the term "The Lost Generation," made famous by a group of writers in the early 20th century. Its members were most notably Ernest Hemingway and Gertrude Stein, who, some say, coined the phrase. This generation comprised the young men and woman who had returned from the carnage of World War I and met the new challenge of domestic life in the ´20s and ´30s. This generation was noted for its restlessness, lack of direction, and great confusion. A theme that filled Lost Generation literature of the time was the frivolous wealth of the upper crust. Millennials are not a lost generation, they are a loser generation. Hardship for them is a barrista spilling their $10 double latte funicello at a Starbucks. Try two tours in Vietnam and get back to me......

Nonsense. This generation´s "problems" stem from thinking it makes any sense at all to go many thousands of $$ into debt to study stupid stuff--like "Womyn´s Studies" and expect to get a good job.

We will always need doctors, engineers, computer scientists, nurses, accountants, etc. Young people who understand this will do well in life.

Their biggest financial problems in the future will be supporting the gimmes who expect "free" healthcare, student loan forgiveness, a universal basic income, and everything else that the leaders of their generation are promising.

Both my boys endured hardships, my divorce, and were taught the value of money and work. They have real jobs because they worked to make themselves marketable. They have real wives and children, because that´s what they wanted. They also have real problems, as everyone does, not imaginary ones.

The reason this has happened is that their parents paid more attention to them, than advancement of careers or possessions in this materialistic world.

The article is depressing.

While 9/11 was a scary wake up call to the dangers of terrorists, there has been little threat here since. Incidents, yes. Grave threat to the Country, no. I am not looking over my shoulder every minute expecting disaster. I know bad things could happen but I don´t live my life waiting for them. 9/11 doesn´t frame my life.

2008 financial problems were certainly troubling. Down times have happened in the past. We got over them. 2008 was exacerbated by a president and congress that did just about everything wrong that they could to undermine an economic recovery. The lesson learned is that politicians can screw things up; ESPECIALLY dem politicians. However, the Country has great potential.

We are now the strongest economic power in the world and barring dems messing it up are likely to stay so for a while. We are energy independent. Everyone that wants a job is working. Pay is rising. Many terrorists threats are crushed.

If you are depressed about all this, you have a personal problem.

Could things be improved? Sure. The strivers among us will accomplish those changes. Those stivers gave us fracking and drilling improvements that made us energy strong. The worriers lectured us about running out of oil and draconian conservation efforts.

The author says they were handed a "bum deal". I think they were handed challenges. Winners overcome challenges. Whiners mumble about bum deals.

Lost generation? Could it be due to the fact that liberals are taking God out of school? I have to say if I had children today, I would make certain that they would have a Life Application Study Bible. Wisdom comes from God - why would you not want to equip your child with a resource like that?

FTA:"Gone was the assurance of a good job after university, and gone was the idea of a stable 9-5 job that one could stay at until retirement.

Really? This is BS.

I see a pity party, "Nobody has had to endure the horrible hardships that we poor millenials have had to endure. Woe is us."

Bullhockey. You have seen nothing significant and if you get off your butt and get a good education, you are set, will easily be employed your whole life.

Spare me the pity party. Not impressed that millenials are anything except self-absorbed whiners - including this guy.

Want some cheese with that whine?

I personally know 2 young couples (31 & 33) one of which bought their 2nd house in sillydotcom valley last year (renting the first) and none of them came from anything other than self motivation and perseverance.

After the 1961 season, Whitey Ford said, "It was a bad year for the Babe" — a reference to two of his records broken in October of that year. Well, no records were broken here, but it was a really bad couple of years for those reporters, and their editors, who decided to break stories based on all those "sources familiar with the investigation."I wonder if any will have the character to step up and say "we messed up badly."I agree with Roger Simon that the media may be suffering the biggest consequences of this investigation: So there you have

Former CBS News journalist Lara Logan says the mainstream media is not allowing President Trump to be “normalized” as the nation´s leader and accused CNN, among others, of passing off opinions as fact in a Fox News interview set to air Sunday.“I´ve never seen the press corps behave the way they do today," Logan told host Mark Levin on “Life, Liberty & Levin. "So, it stands out to me because it´s a departure from what I´ve seen throughout the last three decades. There is something actually much more significant about what you´re seeing happen with the White House press corps.” Logan

Politicians are used to seeing cowardice and being cowards. So used to it are they that they cannot even imagine there being another way. Our president has proven to be quite different. He is fearless. He is bold. He acts. He accomplishes. (What he would be accomplishing if those in his party had the courage to support him is hard to conceive.) If one takes a moment to look at his brilliance, it is a truly rare and beautiful thing.First off, the attacks were made to wear him down and wear him out. To make him sue (and compromise) for

Hundreds of supporters of President Donald Trump gathered outside Trump Tower in New York City, Saturday, to celebrate the end of Special Counsel Robert Mueller´s two year long investigation into Russian collusion in the 2016 election. The gathering was referred to on social media as a ´Happy No Collusion Day´ rally. Many attendees wore MAGA caps and pro-Trump clothing while holding up banners and waving flags. Local grassroots pro-Trump organizations throughout the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania areas had called supporters to gather, rally and network. Journalist Lara Logan said Saturday that the response to the Mueller report was striking because of what was not happening: there were no blaring headlines boldly proclaiming the vindication of President Donald Trump. WATCH: (Video)Logan, during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” Saturday, argued that if the Mueller report had resulted in indictments or charges of any kind, that would most certainly be the top story in every paper. My question is this: If charges had been brought against the president, then the headlines would all be screaming about, you know, victory, right, for the left. Vindication. This proves that

President Donald Trump spent Saturday golfing with rock superstar Kid Rock, a day after the Russia collusion investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller was completed. The president left his club at Mar-a-Lago and traveled to his Trump International Golf Club on Saturday, but he did not tell reporters who his golfing partners were. The answer was revealed on Twitter hours later, as Kid Rock posted a picture with the president. “Another great day on the links!” he wrote. “Thank you to POTUS for having me and to EVERYONE at Trump International for being so wonderful. Florida, with its plentiful beaches, warm weather, and lack of a state income tax, is the most popular destination for older adults in the U.S. But some who have lived in the Sunshine State for years are moving in the opposite direction. As damaging storms and other effects of climate change have hit Florida particularly hard in the past few years, some older adults living there have become concerned about their safety and their ability to enjoy retirement. So they’re fleeing this otherwise balmy state. About 52,630 people ages 65 and over left Florida in 2017, versus 48,174 in

Barbra Streisand is under fire for comments she made about two men accusing Michael Jackson of sexually assaulting them as children. The legendary singer and actress said that Wade Robson and James Safechuck — whose allegations against the late King of Pop resurfaced in the recent documentary “Leaving Neverland" — “were thrilled to be there” and that what allegedly happened to them “didn’t kill them." Streisand, 76, made the strange comments to British newspaper The Times in a piece out Friday, in which she also said that Jackson’s “sexual needs were his sexual needs.”

The San Antonio City Council banned Chick-fil-A from San Antonio International Airport over “anti-LGBTQ behavior” as part of a new concession plan for the airport. District 1 City Councilman Roberto Treviño motioned to approve the Food, Beverage and Retail Prime Concession Agreement with Paradies Lagardère for the airport Thursday on condition Chick-fil-A be excluded from the agreement. Treviño asserted Chick-fil-A has a “legacy of anti-LGBTQ behavior” and that such a business had no place in the city’s airport. Even though we do not yet know exactly what the Mueller Report says, we do now know that no other indictments are in the works. No collusion with Russia by the Trump campaign was found. So, the self-assured and confident predictions by so many on the left that they had seen "cold, hard evidence," and that Mueller would find copious evidence of "collusion" with Russia, was just wishful thinking alone. They all had to know the infamous "dossier" was faked.

This spelling and grammar test from the 1980s is so difficult that it is claimed no one can get more than 50 per cent of the answers right. The 20-question quiz promises to leave even the brightest brains scratching their heads. Indeed it is so tricky that its creator, Playbuzz user Terry Stein, claims players will ´never´ be able to score more than 10 out of 20. So if you think you have what it takes then scroll down to take the test in full. But the answers are at the bottom - so no cheating...

The Washington National Cathedral disputed President Trump´s claim that he had to "approve" the funeral of the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). "Washington National Cathedral was honored to host the funeral service for Senator John McCain. All funerals and memorial services at the Cathedral are organized by the family of the deceased; only a state funeral for a former president involves consultation with government officials," a cathedral spokesperson said in a statement to The Hill on Thursday. "No funeral at the Cathedral requires the approval of the president or any other government official," he added.
