You may have heard the term "The Lost Generation," made famous by a group of writers in the early 20th century. Its members were most notably Ernest Hemingway and Gertrude Stein, who, some say, coined the phrase. This generation comprised the young men and woman who had returned from the carnage of World War I and met the new challenge of domestic life in the ´20s and ´30s. This generation was noted for its restlessness, lack of direction, and great confusion. A theme that filled Lost Generation literature of the time was the frivolous wealth of the upper crust. Millennials are not a lost generation, they are a loser generation. Hardship for them is a barrista spilling their $10 double latte funicello at a Starbucks. Try two tours in Vietnam and get back to me......

Nonsense. This generation´s "problems" stem from thinking it makes any sense at all to go many thousands of $$ into debt to study stupid stuff--like "Womyn´s Studies" and expect to get a good job.

We will always need doctors, engineers, computer scientists, nurses, accountants, etc. Young people who understand this will do well in life.

Their biggest financial problems in the future will be supporting the gimmes who expect "free" healthcare, student loan forgiveness, a universal basic income, and everything else that the leaders of their generation are promising.

Both my boys endured hardships, my divorce, and were taught the value of money and work. They have real jobs because they worked to make themselves marketable. They have real wives and children, because that´s what they wanted. They also have real problems, as everyone does, not imaginary ones.

The reason this has happened is that their parents paid more attention to them, than advancement of careers or possessions in this materialistic world.

The article is depressing.

While 9/11 was a scary wake up call to the dangers of terrorists, there has been little threat here since. Incidents, yes. Grave threat to the Country, no. I am not looking over my shoulder every minute expecting disaster. I know bad things could happen but I don´t live my life waiting for them. 9/11 doesn´t frame my life.

2008 financial problems were certainly troubling. Down times have happened in the past. We got over them. 2008 was exacerbated by a president and congress that did just about everything wrong that they could to undermine an economic recovery. The lesson learned is that politicians can screw things up; ESPECIALLY dem politicians. However, the Country has great potential.

We are now the strongest economic power in the world and barring dems messing it up are likely to stay so for a while. We are energy independent. Everyone that wants a job is working. Pay is rising. Many terrorists threats are crushed.

If you are depressed about all this, you have a personal problem.

Could things be improved? Sure. The strivers among us will accomplish those changes. Those stivers gave us fracking and drilling improvements that made us energy strong. The worriers lectured us about running out of oil and draconian conservation efforts.

The author says they were handed a "bum deal". I think they were handed challenges. Winners overcome challenges. Whiners mumble about bum deals.

Lost generation? Could it be due to the fact that liberals are taking God out of school? I have to say if I had children today, I would make certain that they would have a Life Application Study Bible. Wisdom comes from God - why would you not want to equip your child with a resource like that?

FTA:"Gone was the assurance of a good job after university, and gone was the idea of a stable 9-5 job that one could stay at until retirement.

Really? This is BS.

I see a pity party, "Nobody has had to endure the horrible hardships that we poor millenials have had to endure. Woe is us."

Bullhockey. You have seen nothing significant and if you get off your butt and get a good education, you are set, will easily be employed your whole life.

Spare me the pity party. Not impressed that millenials are anything except self-absorbed whiners - including this guy.

Want some cheese with that whine?

I personally know 2 young couples (31 & 33) one of which bought their 2nd house in sillydotcom valley last year (renting the first) and none of them came from anything other than self motivation and perseverance.

TLAHUELILPAN, Mexico — Forensic experts attempted to separate and count charred heaps of corpses in central Mexico on Saturday after a massive fireball erupted at an illegal pipeline tap, killing at least 66 people. More than 85 other people on Saturday were listed as missing as relatives of the deceased and onlookers gathered around the scene of carnage. Just a few feet from where the pipeline passed through an alfalfa field, the dead seem to have fallen in heaps, perhaps as they stumbled over each other or tried to help one another in the moments after a geyser of gasoline

On Friday night Speaker Nancy Pelosi was spotted at Reagan International Airport in Washington DC flying commercial as the president suggested. This was after President Trump grounded Speaker Pelosi and Democrats taking a “public relations tour” to trash the administration in Europe and Afghanistan. On Friday Sen. Joni Ernst (R_IA) proposed legislation to force lawmakers to stay in Washington and meet twice per day until their work is done on national budgets. (Photo) Sen. Joni Ernst: It is “No budget, No recess” and it would force members of Congress to stay in DC until we have a budget done and

Thursday, BuzzFeed reported that President Trump had ordered Michael Cohen to lie to Congress. Friday, at a late hour (after a day of misinformation), Robert Mueller had his office refute the details of the report and its implications. This is a rare event by the special counsel office. Those on the right see this as further evidence of "fake news," and the left argues that this proves how fair Mueller will be. We must wonder how this story originated. BuzzFeed editor Ben Smith is still claiming that the story is accurate and wants Mueller to clarify his denial. Watching the

On its 46th anniversary, all three major networks (ABC, NBC, and CBS) ignored the March for Life in Washington, D.C., the largest pro-life event in the nation, opting instead to cover the feminist Women´s March rally. According to LifeNews, despite an estimated 100,000 people being in attendance at the pro-life march along with President Trump´s address to the crowd via video, the left-wing machines could not so much as "give a passing mention to the March for Life" during the Friday morning shows."It seems an anti-Trump march happening tomorrow is more interesting to the networks," (Snip)The networks never learn it

There was a day when patriotic Americans laughed off left wing lunacy and the incessant politically correct doctrine it produces — and look where that got us. Outspoken Hollywood actor James Woods warned in a tweet Thursday that newly elected socialist congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez poses a greater threat to America than most realize. “This is the most dangerous person in America right now. Ignore her at your peril,” he tweeted alongside a picture of the congressman Thursday afternoon, hours after she delivered a record-breaking speech (more on that below) on the House floor Wednesday night criticizing President Donald Trump over the

RALEIGH -Hyo Suk George lived legally in the United States for nearly 20 years before she voted in her first election, coaxed to cast her ballot by an enthusiastic town council member at church. To register, she presented a green card, Social Security number and driver’s license — proof enough for the elections officials in Columbus County — then voted in 2008, 2010 and 2016. But on Thursday, George, 70, faced charges of illegal voting from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, for which she might have spent six months in prison. Instead, U.S. District Court Judge Terrence Boyle chastised the elections board in Whiteville,

The federal government shutdown has presented a unique opportunity for President Donald Trump to clear out the deadwood in the federal bureaucracy, saving U.S. taxpayers billions of dollars in salaries, perks, and rented office space for people who aren´t doing anything productive. At the same time, Trump can get rid of dozens, possibly even hundreds of Deep State operatives in the government, handpicked by Barack Obama and Bill Clinton for their loyalty to the Democratic Party, not their country or the law. These people leak like a screen door in a submarine, mainly to CNN and MSNBC, the twin headquarters

President Trump on Thursday abruptly denied military aircraft to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for a foreign trip just minutes before the congressional delegation was set to depart, in a stunning response to her call to delay the State of the Union address amid the government shutdown. In a curt letter, Trump said her trip has been “postponed.” “Due to the Shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt, and Afghanistan has been postponed. We will reschedule this seven-day excursion when the Shutdown is over. In light of the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay,

The Santa Monica Observer was the only paper to report of lung cancer at the time. Now The Santa Monica Observer says Ruth Bader Ginsburg has pneumonia and is fighting for her life. And… That Ginsburg will retire in January. The Santa Monica Observer reported: As any reader of the Santa Monica Observer knew last September, Ruth Bader Ginsburg has developed lung cancer. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) looked defeated Friday afternoon when reporters confronted her over her outrageous claims Trump endangered her life by cancelling her military flight then allegedly leaked her commercial travel plans. Earlier Friday morning, Pelosi’s spokesman, Drew Hammill accused President Trump of endangering Pelosi’s life by leaking her commercial travel plans. Nancy Pelosi doubled down on those claims when confronted by reporters. “We had the prerogative to travel commercially, and we made plans to do that, until the administration then leaked that we were traveling commercially,” Pelosi told a gaggle of reporters. Gillette is doubling down on a controversial new campaign that appears aimed at taking on so-called toxic masculinity — but has created a social media firestorm. The two-minute video from Boston-based razor brand Gillette urges men to act against sexual harassment, misogyny and bullying, asking: “Is this the best a man can get?” While fans are applauding the move, critics say it assumes men need to be steered away from negative tendencies. The ad starts off with audio of news about the #MeToo movement, saying, “We can’t hide from it. It has been going on far too long. We
