Tuesday’s Supreme Court decision will affect

The U.S. Supreme Court will allow a North Dakota law requiring voters to produce government ID with a current residential street address when casting ballots to take effect. The decision, which came Tuesday and drew a brief dissent, will affect one November’s most critical Senate races. A group of American Indians challenged the residential street address requirement, arguing that it imposes “impossible and severe burdens on the franchise for Native American voters,” as many live on reservations or otherwise lack ordinary street addresses. A federal judge agreed and prohibited the law. The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals lifted that

FTA:

Kavanaugh did not participate in Tuesday’s decision, though he heard oral arguments for the first time as a justice earlier in the day.

I am one of those persons who does not have mail delivery to my residential address. All of my mail goes to a PO box.
The Post Office will not drive up our mountain road and the mailbox kept getting destroyed or stolen out on the main road.

Well, I would assume that if you have a photo ID and have someone sign an affidavit for you stating that you live in the district that would be sufficient. You would then vote provisionally and then there would be a follow up as to where you actually lived. We used to accept an electric bill with your name & address on it. That does not work if you have a PO Box. The thing about the Reservations is that some people live one place in the summer and somewhere else in the winter. If you are living in the same district no problem. But what if you are like the New York & Ohio snow birds who have a ´six month + one day residence in Florida to avoid taxes? Can you vote in both states? I´m sure some do!

Kavanaugh sat this one out. Still means the decision was 6/2, with Ginsburger and Kagan dissenting.

This is a nothing-Gingsburger. Another poke at the democrat machine trying to destroy free and fair elections.

Gotta have an ID to buy alcohol, fly in a plane, etc. Why shouldn´t you have to have an ID to prove you´re eligible to vote. Stupid argument to start with. Means only a stupid person would disagree with needing one.

MAGA!!! KAG!!! Bye, bye Ms. Hide-camp.

I live in ND, and virtually every part of the state has a street address. They were established years ago for the purposes of 911 dispatch.

As #6 said, regardless of where your mail is delivered, you have a "street address" for E-911.

And you must have government-issued ID to enter any Federal Building.

I´m not in ND, but I would fail the Gov´t ID with res addr. All of my IDs have the PO box or I would not have received them. Taxes, jury duty, vehicle registration, voter info, any bill, if it has my home address on it, it will not get to me. I don´t even know that it didn´t. I have documents with both addresses on them so I´m assuming there is a provision that I could use if this were to come to Calif. Hahahahaha!

Certainly the local Fire Dept. knows where you live - your house is on a MapQuest or Google digital map. The aerial photograph is accessible to the local governments.

In other words, the American Indians are not smart enough to figure out how to vote legally. Or, how many busloads of ´´American Indians´´ will arrive from New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and other places?

Democrats are so....

#10 gets it.
Although Heidi the frumpy lady is so far behind, the Soros crowd may not bother to rig the vote.
(just wondering - how does the Department of Interior, which keeps track of ´enrolled´ indians handle their records? Wouldn´t Interior (BIA) want good addresses?)

There is a difference between your mailing address, which may be a PO box, and your residential address, where you actually live.

Try to get an ambulance to show up at your PO box in case of an emergency at home.

BTW: #3, I know many tax-evading snowbirds wintering in Palm Beach County who vote in two states, one being FLA. As "non-residents" they also complain loudly when their "home state" goes after them for taxes. There are also a few Canadiens doing the same. Mon Dieu!

#12, finger-print technology would certainly take care of that, and many other issues related to voting.

Imagine, everyone had to give their finger print as part of the registration process.

The data base would be crossed-checked to remove anyone who has been declared dead, been institutionalized(mental or prison), and would be linked to search across state lines too.
Voting twice would be impossible, as would anyone who is not eligible.

Heck, you need to give your finger print to enter Universal Studios in Orlando. When I asked, they said it was to protect the integrity of your ticket.
Think of that, your ticket to Universal is more secure than your voter registration?

Big brother national solution, #14. I know, just a fingerprint...improved voting security through electronics. Facial recognition, anyone?

If the states only did their duty in the first place...Florida doesn´t seem too concerned, nor do Ohio or NY, if they get their tax money.

Democratic presidential candidates jockeying for position in 2020 had a lot to say when actor Jussie Smollett said he was attacked in Chicago by two white men who shouted racist and homophobic slurs as they beat him. But they were silent on Saturday, when law enforcement sources said that Chicago Police believed "Empire" star Smollett, 36, who is gay, paid two black men to set up the assault. Police arrested the men, who are brothers from Nigeria, on Wednesday but released them Friday after discovering "new evidence." A Chicago police spokesman said: "We can confirm that the information received from

President Donald Trump has been spotted returning from the links in Florida, flashing a thumbs-up for his supporters after presumably spending a relaxing day playing golf. Trump´s motorcade rolled from Mar-a-Lago to the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach at 8.30am on Saturday, a sunny day where temperatures reached 82 degrees. As reporters were held at a nearby library, Trump spent more than six hours at the club before departing at 2.56pm. Trump seemed in high spirits as he departed the club, flashing a double thumbs-up for his supporters gathered by the roadside. (Video/Photos) Wearing a red hat

"The most important political event of the twentieth century," wrote Irving Kristol in 1976, "is not the crisis of capitalism but the death of socialism." Plenty of self-described Marxist and socialist regimes existed throughout the world, Kristol recognized. It was rather the ideas behind such regimes that had reached a moral and intellectual endpoint. Nor was this passing away entirely to be cheered. "For with the passing of the socialist ideal," Kristol went on, "there is removed from the political horizon the one alternative to capitalism that was rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition and in the Western civilization which emerged

While Mr. Caddell was considered instrumental in Mr. Carter’s victory, he also shared the blame for limiting him to a single term. The Lone Cypress clinging to a granite promontory above the surf on California’s Monterey Peninsula has survived arsonists’ fires, vandal’s paint, drought and relentless winds along the famously scenic 17-Mile Drive edging the Pebble Beach Resorts. But on Thursday, the most photographed tree in North America was lashed by a brutal Pacific storm that knocked off one of its largest branches, significantly altering the appearance of the tree that has been a marketing tool and a registered trademark of the Pebble Beach Co. since 1919. Until now, the tree, believed to be more than 250 years old, had posed for

The GOP Majority Leader in the Senate persuaded President Donald Trump to not veto the GOP’s flawed border security bill by promising to back a national emergency construction of border walls, according to insider leaks to the establishment media. The Washington Post reported that “Trump had been leaning against supporting the congressional spending bill but relented after several conversations with [Majority Leader Sen. Mitch] McConnell, who then announced his agreement to go along with an emergency declaration.” One reason for Trump’s last-minute opposition is that congressional leaders conducted the negotiations without significant White House involvement.

Earlier this week, Omar exhibited stunning ignorance in her hostile questioning of Elliott Adams Abrams. Similarly, Ocasio-Cortez has often displayed a surprising lack of knowledge for someone who apparently is a college graduate. Don’t get me started on the “Green New Socialism.” But she outdid herself yesterday. The context was Amazon’s announcement that it would not, after all, build a second corporate headquarters in Long Island City, which I understand is close to, but not within, Ocasio-Cortez’s district. "The America I see values basic human decency, not snatching children from their parents or turning our back on refugees at our border. Americans know that’s not right,” the former vice president and potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidate told the Munich Security Conference. "The American people understand plainly that this makes us an embarrassment. The American people know, overwhelmingly, that it is not right.
