Tuesday’s Supreme Court decision will affect
a key November Senate race; Ginsburg’s

The U.S. Supreme Court will allow a North Dakota law requiring voters to produce government ID with a current residential street address when casting ballots to take effect. The decision, which came Tuesday and drew a brief dissent, will affect one November’s most critical Senate races. A group of American Indians challenged the residential street address requirement, arguing that it imposes “impossible and severe burdens on the franchise for Native American voters,” as many live on reservations or otherwise lack ordinary street addresses. A federal judge agreed and prohibited the law. The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals lifted that

FTA:

Kavanaugh did not participate in Tuesday’s decision, though he heard oral arguments for the first time as a justice earlier in the day.

I am one of those persons who does not have mail delivery to my residential address. All of my mail goes to a PO box.
The Post Office will not drive up our mountain road and the mailbox kept getting destroyed or stolen out on the main road.

Well, I would assume that if you have a photo ID and have someone sign an affidavit for you stating that you live in the district that would be sufficient. You would then vote provisionally and then there would be a follow up as to where you actually lived. We used to accept an electric bill with your name & address on it. That does not work if you have a PO Box. The thing about the Reservations is that some people live one place in the summer and somewhere else in the winter. If you are living in the same district no problem. But what if you are like the New York & Ohio snow birds who have a ´six month + one day residence in Florida to avoid taxes? Can you vote in both states? I´m sure some do!

Kavanaugh sat this one out. Still means the decision was 6/2, with Ginsburger and Kagan dissenting.

This is a nothing-Gingsburger. Another poke at the democrat machine trying to destroy free and fair elections.

Gotta have an ID to buy alcohol, fly in a plane, etc. Why shouldn´t you have to have an ID to prove you´re eligible to vote. Stupid argument to start with. Means only a stupid person would disagree with needing one.

MAGA!!! KAG!!! Bye, bye Ms. Hide-camp.

I live in ND, and virtually every part of the state has a street address. They were established years ago for the purposes of 911 dispatch.

As #6 said, regardless of where your mail is delivered, you have a "street address" for E-911.

And you must have government-issued ID to enter any Federal Building.

I´m not in ND, but I would fail the Gov´t ID with res addr. All of my IDs have the PO box or I would not have received them. Taxes, jury duty, vehicle registration, voter info, any bill, if it has my home address on it, it will not get to me. I don´t even know that it didn´t. I have documents with both addresses on them so I´m assuming there is a provision that I could use if this were to come to Calif. Hahahahaha!

Certainly the local Fire Dept. knows where you live - your house is on a MapQuest or Google digital map. The aerial photograph is accessible to the local governments.

In other words, the American Indians are not smart enough to figure out how to vote legally. Or, how many busloads of ´´American Indians´´ will arrive from New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and other places?

Democrats are so....

#10 gets it.
Although Heidi the frumpy lady is so far behind, the Soros crowd may not bother to rig the vote.
(just wondering - how does the Department of Interior, which keeps track of ´enrolled´ indians handle their records? Wouldn´t Interior (BIA) want good addresses?)

There is a difference between your mailing address, which may be a PO box, and your residential address, where you actually live.

Try to get an ambulance to show up at your PO box in case of an emergency at home.

BTW: #3, I know many tax-evading snowbirds wintering in Palm Beach County who vote in two states, one being FLA. As "non-residents" they also complain loudly when their "home state" goes after them for taxes. There are also a few Canadiens doing the same. Mon Dieu!

#12, finger-print technology would certainly take care of that, and many other issues related to voting.

Imagine, everyone had to give their finger print as part of the registration process.

The data base would be crossed-checked to remove anyone who has been declared dead, been institutionalized(mental or prison), and would be linked to search across state lines too.
Voting twice would be impossible, as would anyone who is not eligible.

Heck, you need to give your finger print to enter Universal Studios in Orlando. When I asked, they said it was to protect the integrity of your ticket.
Think of that, your ticket to Universal is more secure than your voter registration?

Big brother national solution, #14. I know, just a fingerprint...improved voting security through electronics. Facial recognition, anyone?

If the states only did their duty in the first place...Florida doesn´t seem too concerned, nor do Ohio or NY, if they get their tax money.

Supporters are lining up for President Trump´s big rally in Texas, one whole day before the event will take place. With Trump´s 2020 campaign boasting "100,000+" people being interested in attending, lines of people outside the venue Sunday evening, shown spanning multiple blocks in photos tweeted by CNN´s Betsy Klein, further indicate high enthusiasm for the event. The people at the front of the line had reportedly been there since 10 a.m. local time. Washington & Lee University has — officially — wet the bed. Tilting at snowflake machines, the once proud and serious university has decided to cash out its winnings from history in a hopeless effort to pay off the self-appointed history Gestapo now clanging at the gates with torches and pitchforks. Just ahead of the fiery mob, university officials will take down portraits, lock museum doors and rename buildings on campus in order to protect their precious young adolescents from being exposed to some of the harsher realities of American history — as well as the founding of the university itself.

In what some describe as a sensible return to common-sense policies, the Trump administration has reportedly proposed redefining gender/sex as an immutable condition that cannot be altered by whim. In a memo obtained by The New York Times, the Department of Health and Human Services argues that federal agencies should adopt a definition of gender that’s based “on a biological basis that is clear, grounded in science, objective and administrable.” Though biological science makes it clear that only two distinct genders exist, the administration of former President Barack Hussein Obama muddied the definition of gender for political purposes. President Trump´s approval rating before the November elections has jumped to a higher level than former President Obama´s ahead of the 2010 midterms, according to a new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll. The poll found Trump´s approval rating at its highest level for that poll yet, at 47 percent. Obama´s approval rating was 45 percent around the same time in 2010, according to a similar NBC/Wall Street Journal poll taken in late October 2010. Obama´s approval rating was reaching a record low in October 2010, just before his party lost a significant number of seats in the House and Senate. Trump

More than 100,000 requests have been made for tickets to President Trump´s rally in Texas on Monday, his re-election campaign says. To accommodate the sheer magnitude of interest, the Trump campaign announced in a statement Sunday that it will hold a "Big Texas Tailgater" at the site of Trump´s "Make America Great Again" rally at the Toyota Center in Houston. “Texas is big, and so will be the turnout for our MAGA rally in Houston, Texas Monday,” said Michael Glassner, chief operating officer of Donald J, Trump for President, Inc. “That’s why we’ve organized the Donald Trump–Big Texas Tailgater outside

CIUDAD HIDALGO, Mexico — Despite Mexican efforts to stop them at the border, a growing throng of Central American migrants resumed their advance toward the U.S. border early Sunday in southern Mexico. Their numbers swelled to about 5,000 overnight and at first light they set out walking toward the Mexican town of Tapachula, 10 abreast in a line stretching approximately a mile. It was not immediately clear where the additional travelers had materialized from since about 2,000 gathered on the Mexican side Saturday night. They seemed likely to be people who had been waiting on the bridge over the Suchiate

This is beyond odd, but here goes. I rise to defend Hillary Clinton. She is under attack and this time, the long knives are wielded by members of her own clan. Suddenly, after two years of indulging Clinton’s blame games and pity parties, lefty pundits say she’s talking too much, she’s stuck in the past, she had her chance and she blew it. Vanity Fair, declaring that she “still hasn’t learned the lessons of #MeToo,” is furious that Clinton said her husband’s Oval Office dalliance with Monica Lewinsky was not an abuse of power

Every big U.S. election is interesting, but the coming midterms are fascinating for a reason most commentators forget to mention: The Democrats have no issues. The economy is booming and America’s international position is strong. In foreign affairs, the U.S. has remembered in the nick of time what Machiavelli advised princes five centuries ago: Don’t seek to be loved, seek to be feared. The contrast with the Obama years must be painful for any honest leftist.

Hillary Clinton joined Eric Garner’s mother Gwen Carr for a book signing in Manhattan, New York Friday. Gwen Carr penned a book titled, “This Stops Now” in her ongoing effort to pursue justice for her son, Eric Garner who died after a Staten Island police officer held him in a choke hold. San Francisco - Cow´s milk is allegedly a symbol used by white supremacists, according to PETA. In a recent statement, the animal advocate organization explains that dairy milk has been the drink of choice for supremacists because "the dairy industry inflicts extreme violence on other living beings." According to PETA, "some people might be surprised to learn that cows used by the dairy industry are slaughtered after about five years because their bodies are so spent from being kept constantly pregnant."
