Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz admitted fault Thursday for saying that Republican Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has “given women the back of his hand” and is “grabbing us by the hair.” “I shouldn’t have used the words I used,” Wasserman Schultz said in a statement to CBS News. Wasserman Schultz did not apologize to Walker or other Republicans, but rather doubled down in her line of attack on Walker. “That shouldn’t detract from the broader point that I was making that Scott Walker’s policies have been bad for Wisconsin women,” Wasserman Schultz said. “Whether it’s mandating ultrasounds, repealing an equal

Prime Minister Abbott landed in the financial capital, his first port of call, on a day-long visit during which he will interact with business leaders and select Indian CEOs. Vice President Joe Biden sported a super fancy Hamptons golf club shirt while talking to workers in Detroit, Michigan about fair wage on Labor Day. Biden´s blue polo shirt had what appears to be The Sebonack Golf Club logo (You can check out some examples on eBay). The vice president´s office did not respond to a request for comment about the shirt from Business Insider. The private golf club has one of the priciest annual memberships and is quite popular with Wall Street-ers. It costs upwards of $500,000, according to a Bloomberg News report. The 300-acre Southampton golf course, which opened in 2006,

Secretary of State John Kerry´s speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for the U.S. Diplomacy Center in Washington, D.C. Wednesday included an intriguing aside that appeared to reference the upcoming 2016 presidential election. Kerry spoke after remarks by each of the five former secretaries of state in attendance: Henry Kissinger, James Baker, III, Madeleine Albright, Colin Powell, and Hillary Clinton (Condoleezza Rice and George Shultz were not present.) After extolling the accomplishments of each of the five former top diplomats, Kerry said, "Join me, all of you, in thanking five of our six living former

A sickening photograph has emerged of a tiny baby lying on an ISIS flag surrounded by guns and hand grenades. The chilling image is the latest photo believed to have been posted by militants fighting in Syria and Iraq as part of their online propaganda campaign. It shows the child - who appears to be less than six months old - lying on its back on the black flag now associated with the group terrorising the Middle East. Where other babies its age might have soft toys scattered around them, the child has been cynically positioned next a Kalashnikov rifle, a pistol and hand grenades.

The man does not have a strategy. [Snip] For over a year, practically on a daily basis, the man who occupies the Oval Office was briefed about the growing threat of a terrorist group which is so brutal that even Al Qaeda has disavowed any connection to it. The man who laid claim to the highest office in the world was told, warned, informed, cautioned, alerted and briefed with precise details about the rise of IS (formerly ISIS or ISIL). The man who has a definite strategy for employing thousands of agents to spy on innocent American citizens doesn’t have a strategy vis-à-vis the butchers of ISIS.

A U.S. security team in Benghazi was held back from immediately responding to the attack on the American diplomatic mission on orders of the top CIA officer there, three of those involved told Fox News’ Bret Baier. Their account gives a dramatic new turn to what the Obama administration and its allies would like to dismiss as an “old story” – the September 11, 2012 Benghazi attacks that killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. Speaking out publicly for the first time, the three were security operators at the secret CIA annex in Benghazi – in effect, the

Unfortunately such is the state of current affairs. A prominent Egyptian official is telling his constituency, and the world, the reason Egypt and U.S. relations are so poor is because President Obama and John Kerry demand the Severe Islamists be included in policy decisions. Egypt categorically rejects the considerations of radical Islamic extremism, and will not bow to pressure from the United States to be more accommodating toward the radicals within the Muslim Brotherhood. Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz came under fire yesterday for comments she made about Republican Governor Scott Walker that evoked images of domestic violence. Well, today, Wasserman Schultz sent out a statement walking back her comments. Yesterday she said, “Scott Walker has given women the back of his hand. I know that is stark. I know that is direct. But that is reality… What Republican tea party extremists like Scott Walker are doing is they are grabbing us by the hair and pulling us back. It is not going to happen on our watch.” After condemnation by Republicans,

DENVER— When he vowed to spend as much as $50 million of his own money, and raise the same from like-minded donors, billionaire Tom Steyer electrified the political world with his promise to make climate change an issue in this year´s midterm elections. Those elections are now two months away, and the former hedge fund manager is running out of time. On pace to raise far less than the widely touted $100 million, his group has a relatively minor presence on the airwaves. Not everyone in the NYPD got the “drunkyard” memo. Members of the Brooklyn South Vice Squad raided two illegal nightclubs set up in junkyards this past weekend — then got told by the local precinct to let them stay open, The Post has learned. Cops burst into the open-air watering holes in East Flatbush around 3 a.m. Saturday, law enforcement sources said. When no one could produce a liquor license, the cops prepared to bust the bartenders and close the clubs, known as Tiki Village and Soca Village. But managers pleaded with the cops to call the 63rd Precinct

A federal complaint says North Carolina’s regulation of hog farms discriminates against minorities who, disproportionately, endure strong odors and contaminated water. Three groups filed a complaint Wednesday that asks the Environmental Protection Agency to investigate what they say are violations of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The filing comes nearly 20 years after 25 million gallons of waste burst from an Onslow County hog farm into the New River, focusing public attention on a fast-growing industry. Then and now, manure is washed out of the metal barns where hogs spend their brief lives into open pits called lagoons. Water from the lagoons

It could have been that photograph of Hillary Rodham Clinton in the White House Situation Room watching, hand over mouth, as cameras showed the SEAL Team Six raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound. A hacker broke into part of the HealthCare.gov insurance enrollment website in July and uploaded malicious software, according to federal officials. Investigators found no evidence that consumers’ personal data was taken in the breach, federal officials said. The hacker appears only to have accessed a server used to test code for HealthCare.gov. The Department of Health and Human Services discovered the attack last week. An HHS official said the attack appears to mark the first successful intrusion into the website, where millions of Americans bought insurance starting last year under the Affordable Care Act.

Chicago - A U.S. appeals court in Chicago ruled Thursday that gay marriage bans in Wisconsin and Indiana violate the U.S. Constitution — thereby bumping the number of states where gay marriage will be legal from 19 to 21. The unanimous decision by the three-judge panel of the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals is yet another in a series of courtroom wins for gay-marriage advocates. Since last year, the vast majority of federal rulings have declared same-sex marriages bans unconstitutional. The Wisconsin and Indiana cases shifted to Chicago after attorneys general in the states appealed separate lower court rulings
