MINNEAPOLIS- He was the second known American killed while fighting for ISIS in Syria, and the second from Minnesota -- and a Fox 9 exclusive uncovering his employment history is raising a few eyebrows. An airport is probably the last place anyone would want a suspected terrorist to work, but before he died overseas, that´s exactly what Abdirahmaan Muhumed did in the Twin Cities. In fact, he may have cleaned your plane at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Before he died, Muhumed left behind a trail of selfies and questions. Who recruited him to join the terror group, and how

Louisiana Marriage Ban Is

Buzzfeed, by Chris Giedner    Original Article

WASHINGTON — A federal judge broke ranks on Wednesday, ruling that Louisiana’s ban on same-sex couples’ marriages is constitutional. The ruling, from U.S. District Court Judge Martin Feldman, is the first federal court ruling upholding a state’s ban since the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the federal law defining marriage as only including opposite-sex couples in June 2013. Feldman, appointed to the bench in 1983 by President Reagan, noted his departure from other judges, writing, “It would no doubt be celebrated to be in the company of the near-unanimity of the many other federal courts that have spoken to this pressing issue,

In spite of the Islamic State’s ritualistic beheadings of American citizens, President Barack Obama remains committed to addressing the threat posed by ISIS by internationalizing the response. “If we are joined by the international community,” Obama said on Wednesday, “we can continue to shrink ISIL’s sphere of influence, its effectiveness, its financing, its military capabilities to the point where it is a manageable problem.” “The question is going to be making sure we’ve got the right strategy but also making sure we’ve got the international will to do it,” he added. “And what we’ve got to do is make sure

Yesterday came word, through a former Pentagon official, that President Obama received detailed and specific intelligence about the rise of ISIS via the President’s Daily Brief for at least a year before the group took large swaths of territory beginning in June 2014. The former official told Fox News that the data was strong, and “granular” in detail. He added that a policy maker “could not come away with any other impression [than] this is getting bad.” Yet in January, at least six months after these warnings began, Obama famously proclaimed ISIS “the jayvee.” And in recent weeks, the administration has

Why do so many women

Years ago, many scientists assumed that a woman’s heart worked pretty much the same as a man’s. But as more women entered the male-dominated field of cardiology, many of those assumptions vanished, opening the way for new approaches to research and treatment. A similar shift is underway in Alzheimer’s disease. It has long been known that more women than men get the deadly neurodegenerative disease, and now an emerging body of research is challenging the common wisdom as to why. Although the question is by no means settled, recent findings suggest that biological, genetic and even cultural influences may play

Among those who felt the U.S. is on the wrong track, the leading answer — 7.1 percent — was Mr. Obama’s lack of leadership, followed by a poor foreign policy and problems with Congress. Those who took a rosier view cited progress on health care — 21.3 percent — and then improvement in the

As the world burns, President Obama is taking criticism from all sides. Even Salon editor (and Free Beacon aficionado) Joan Walsh has conceded: “I’d probably have suggested not golfing after [Obama’s] moving statement on journalist James Foley’s execution.” Of course, most of this criticism is due to the prevalence of social media, but even so, Obama defenders have returned to one of their favorite arguments: Criticism of our current president is unprecedented; literally no one criticized the sitting president until 2009. (Cartoons) Did Franklin Roosevelt play a lot golf during his presidency? Franklin. Roosevelt. Whatever, don’t want to step on

There’s a new GoPro accessory called Fetch, a specialized harness that lets you attach a camera to your pets. And when one dog owner hooked up his pooch with the device, the result was nothing short of insane. It’s a bit disorienting to watch the video, because the dog (named Walter) runs so quickly. And literally, the exact second the camera is attached to Walter, it runs off, makes its way to the beach, and jumps in the water. You can watch the video below:
