The Obama administration is reportedly attempting to bypass congressional ratification for an international move called a "sweeping international climate change agreement." According to The New York Times, Obama is preparing to hammer out this climate change agreement to "compel nations to cut their planet-warming fossil fuel emissions" ahead of a 2015 UN summit meeting in Paris. Calling it a "politically binding" agreement, Obama is reportedly working with foreign operatives to create a "name and shame" program that would pressure nations into conforming to the new global warming limits. But such an agreement would not normally have any force of law

NBC News senior political editor Mark Murray believes President Barack Obama is thrilled to back at the White House from his Martha´s Vineyard vacation and not on the golf course. Murray told MSNBC´s Tamron Hall on Monday that when "you are on vacation, you hope it lasts forever, and you kinda don´t want to get back to work the next day." He said that was not the case for Obama. "I think the opposite is true for President Obama, where he´s probably glad to be back right at work and didn´t want that vacation to linger anymore, just because there was just

Capitol Hill insiders widely consider President Obama´s rumored plan to unilaterally extend amnesty to as many as five million of illegal aliens to be political suicide, essentially ceding control of the Senate in a single act. But a key question has been whether elite Republicans are willing to deploy the issue in weaponized form. A statement from Brad Dayspring, spokesman for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, suggests the answer is yes. “Executive amnesty would not only subvert the law, but depress wages, and hurt the poorest Americans most of all – including legal immigrants looking to rise into the middle

Export-Import Bank faces rocky

Congress will barely be in session in the 10 weeks before Election Day, and it will do very little legislating. One of the issues it does have to resolve, though, is what to do with the Export-Import Bank. Ex-Im is a federal agency that subsidizes U.S. exporters, giving taxpayer-backed financing to foreign companies and governments. Conservatives are giving this agency a hard time, and House leaders show no desire to take up a bill reauthorizing Ex-Im. But government-shutdown politics complicates things. Here´s the lay of the land: Democrats, for all their populist rhetoric and barbs at Big Business, are nearly

Chuck Todd’s surprise guest on the Daily Rundown Wednesday morning was none other than Senator John McCain (R-AZ), who’s appeared on Meet the Press sixty-nine times, more than any other guest. McCain, in affable mode rather than his normal Sunday cranky war hawk setting, advised Todd on reviving the iconic show, which fell in the ratings from first to third under David Gregory’s tenure. “I think it has been not just the oldest, but the premier Sunday encounter that the American people can have with leading figures in the political world,” McCain said. “I would suggest that rather than try to

He lost more than half his body weight — and now the Rev. Al Sharpton is a fat shamer! The civil-rights leader and host of MSNBC’s “Politics Nation” regularly pokes fun at his fat followers and friends, The Smoking Gun reports after examining comments he’s made before his organization, the National Action Network. “Every fine girl is two big Whoppers away from being obese,” he said after meeting an old high-school crush who had ballooned to almost 300 pounds. At a May rally against Boko Haram outside the United Nations, Sharpton told his fellow protesters, “A lot of y’all ain’t doing nothing but

Paris - IMF chief Christine Lagarde, one of the world´s most powerful women, announced Wednesday she had been charged with "negligence" over a multi-million-euro graft case relating to her time as French finance minister. The shock announcement came a day after she was grilled for more than 15 hours by a special court in Paris that probes ministerial misconduct, the fourth time she has been questioned in a case that has long weighed upon her position as managing director of the International Monetary Fund. The audio led almost every hour and was the biggest story of the day. What a difference a day makes. The language coming from "New Day" anchor Michaela Pereira Wednesday morning is much more cautious. ROTHERHAM, England — Members of Britain´s Pakistani community reacted with outrage Wednesday amid reports that officials failed to act on sex abuse cases because of concerns about racism in the northern English town of Rotherham. Muhbeen Hussain, founder of Rotherham Muslim Youth Group, told the Daily Mirror on Wednesday that Muslims are disgusted that justice was not done — leading to some 1,400 children being sexually exploited over a 16-year period, mostly by Pakistani men. "Race, religion or political correctness should never provide a cloak of invisibility to such grotesque crimes." Report author Alexis Jay cited appalling acts of violence

President Obama is enduring an awful summer of domestic troubles, foreign tragedies and a lost national narrative that´s put him on the defensive. He´ll try to recapture control of the country´s political dialogue next month by igniting an emotional controversy over legalizing illegal aliens. But Tuesday the Democrat was in Charlotte to describe to American Legion members an exotic foreign land where November voters should be delighted to keep his party members in office. [Snip] We’ve gathered some excerpts with our comments in italics to provide a flavor of the alien land this president sees through his bullet-proof windows.

I recently read an article entitled “What Black Parents Tell Their Sons About the Police” and I began to ponder the downward spiral in race relations over the past five years. According to the author Jazmine Hughes: “Such is the burden of black parenting. Being a black parent, especially of a black boy, comes with the added onus of having to protect your child from a country that is out to get him -- a country that kills someone that looks like him every 28 hours, a country that will likely imprison him by his mid-thirties if he doesn´t get his

The bill, AB-1912 (reprinted below), also makes a number of factual findings, such as that Obama´s election in 2008 was "a historic step in the effort towards equality in the United States" and that he won the Nobel Peace Prize less than a year later because of "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen

In light of the tragic shooting of Michael Brown, I’ve been troubled by the notion that a monolithic entity called “Black America” or “the black community” still exists in the 21st century—if it ever existed at all. Moreover, I think that it is simply dangerous for the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to be allowed to act as if they speak for all black Americans. They don’t, but the media and our first black president perpetuate this insidious myth. America has obviously made tremendous progress since the days of Jim Crow, Bull Connor, and voter intimidation at the polls.

Egypt and the United Arab Emirates carried out airstrikes in Tripoli this weekend against the Islamist militants who were in the process of taking control of that city and its airport. The airstrikes appear to have failed to prevent that takeover. The government of Libya is, in the words of its ambassador to Egypt, “unable to protect its institutions, its airports, and natural resources, especially the oil fields.” Moreover, the U.S., which was unable to protect its personnel in Benghazi and has abandoned its embassy in Tripoli, isn’t about to help. Indeed, as Simon Henderson of Washington Institute for Near East Policy

A lawyer in the IRS ethics office is facing the possibility of being disbarred, according to records that accuse her of lying to a court-appointed board and hiding what she’d done with money from a settlement that was supposed to go to two medical providers who had treated her client. The disciplinary arm of the D.C. Court of Appeals has recommended that Takisha McGee, a section manager in the IRS Office of Professional Responsibility, lose her law license over the charge, which stems from a personal injury case she worked about a year before she joined the tax agency.

Mr. Jindal is also accusing the White House of manipulating the regulatory process to compel states to take the much-disputed educational program, The Associated Press reported. The U.S. Department of Education used its $4.3 billion grant program and waiver policy to press states into accepting the same educational testing and standards program. Mr. Jindal said that action “effectively forces states down a path toward a national curriculum,” which violates

If you ever doubted the direction France is headed, you need doubt no more. The headline reads: “One in six French people say they support ISIS” (snip) So, to recap: Muslims comprise 6.5% of the population in France. (This minority wreaks a lot of havoc, no?) They are “disgruntled.” (What’s new?) The terror state of Qatar is investing massive amounts of money in France. (What could go wrong?) One if six people in France support ISIS. (Gee, I wonder what the demographics of that group are?) French Muslims voted in droves for a socialist president.

It isn’t hard to understand the truth about Israel and Hamas. (Snip) The greatest threat to faux reporters like the New York Times Israel bureau chief Jodi Rudoren and her colleagues are people who refuse to accept their distortions and insist that the truth be told. The most dangerous of the truth tellers are the non- Jews who stand up for Israel. This week, former British Labour MP Denis MacShane published an op-ed in Haaretz where he spoke to this point. MacShane argued that for Israel to win the information war being waged against it must cultivate non-Jewish defenders.

The gradual disintegration of Iraq has prompted any number of backward glances: At President Obama and his policies; at the stewardship of Iraq´s now ex-Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki ; at the forces of religion and tribalism. My own backward glance is to January 2008, and the early stages of the campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. At a town meeting in New Hampshire, candidate Sen. John McCain was asked to comment on President George W. Bush´s assertion that American troops might have to remain in Iraq for 50 years.

For all the talk about Hillary Clinton hugging it out and Hillary Clinton’s dead-broke comment and Hillary Clinton bringing Bill back to the White House, I’ve long felt that there is a sleeper issue in play for 2016: Will voters want to give Democrats control of the White House for 12 straight years? The country has shown a natural tendency to rotate the presidency between the parties, at least for the last 60 years. And no matter how much Hillary distances herself from President Obama, that will cast a bit of a shadow over her campaign, in my view. I think much of

The Reporter outlines how several (5 or 6) shots were fired after the arrival of the media. Hence the initial problem for the Police securing, and processing, the crime scene. This was part of the delay in morgue body recovery. 2. Clearly you can see Officer Darren Wilson’s POLICE SUV being removed by flatbed tow truck as it was evidence in the shooting. 3. An IDF officer was lightly-to-moderately wounded Wednesday by apparent errant gun fire emanating from the Syrian side of the Golan Heights, where rebels and forces loyal to the Damascus regime are embroiled in a civil war. The wounded officer was airlifted to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa for medical treatment. Earlier Wednesday, the IDF instructed farmers and civilians to stay away from the border with Syria on the Golan Heights after intense fighting flared between the Syrian army and rebels in the Quneitra crossing region. Explosions from the fighting in Syria were audible in the Israeli Golan Heights. The IDF said
