Michael Brown Funeral:
Cop-Lynching Pep Rally
FrontPage Magazine, by Matthew Vadum    Original Article

An Al Sharpton-led memorial service yesterday for Michael Brown, the black 18-year-old thug who gave a white Ferguson, Mo. police officer a severe head injury while trying to seize his handgun, became the grotesque political rally some observers feared it would be. The distinctly anti-police tone of the service was proof that the lie that Brown tried to surrender to white police officer Darren Wilson, rather than trying to beat the life out of him, won’t die. The racial-grievance industry, egged on by President Obama, won’t let it go.

A group of Fresno farm workers is accusing the state of California of forcing them into the United Farm Workers union. Workers at Fresno-based Gerawan Farms held an election in November to determine whether or not they would remain in the UFW. However, those ballots were never counted. The Agricultural Labor Relations Board (ALRB) seized the ballots until it could investigate UFW allegations of voter impropriety. “We direct the regional director to forward to the Board and serve on all parties to the election all challenged ballot declarations and all other evidence in his possession relevant to the eligibility of

Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough lit into his Republican Party Tuesday morning for criticizing President Barack Obama even when Obama does what the GOP has been demanding he do, namely more forcefully respond to the ISIS threat in Iraq and Syria. Reiterating a recurring point of his, that politics should stop at the waters edge, Scarborough called for the GOP to rally around the president in the fight against ISIS. “The President of the United States is doing what we hear John McCain and Lindsey Graham and other Republicans say he should do, and what is the response?” Scarborough asked.

A third American hostage held by ISIS has been identified as a 26-year-old American woman who was kidnapped a year ago while doing humanitarian relief work in Syria. The terror group is demanding $6.6 million and the release of U.S. prisoners for the life of the young woman, who the family requested not be identified. She is the third of at least four Americans who were known to be held by ISIS, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. American journalist James Foley was executed by the group in a video that appeared online last week. Another writer, Steven Sotloff, was

Democratic U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan plans to tell the American Legion that the Obama administration “has a long road ahead” to restore the trust of veterans. Hagan is scheduled to speak shortly after President Barack Obama addresses veterans at the Charlotte Convention Center. She’ll also expected to meet the president when he arrives at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. “I have told the President that promises alone aren’t going to get it done,” she plans to tell veterans, according to prepared remarks. “The Obama Administration must understand that we need a complete change in culture at the VA.” The administration, she adds,

Are you dying to hear what Hillary Clinton has to say about the events in Ferguson, MO? A lot of people seem to be. Here’s an article in Politico about the fact that she ignored a reporter’s question about it at a book signing. Here’s a CNN panel discussing her silence. Here’s a Huffington Post article on the same topic. There’s an assumption here that deserves examination, one articulated by Al Sharpton last week. “This is now a national, central issue, and anyone running for president needs to come up with a formula, or, in my opinion, they forfeit their

U.S. intelligence agencies believe North Korea is building a submarine capable of launching ballistic missiles, potentially increasing the threat posed by the nuclear-armed rogue state. A missile launch tube on a North Korean submarine was observed recently by U.S. intelligence agencies and is raising new concerns about the missile and nuclear threat from the communist regime in Pyongyang, according to two defense officials familiar with reports of the development. Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. President Obama has done his share to fix the nation´s broken immigration system. He backed comprehensive changes along the lines of those championed by former president George W. Bush. He proposed solutions to the crisis of children from Central America showing up at the U.S. border. And, while waiting for Congress to act, his administration has vigorously enforced current law, deporting more than 2 million people who came here unlawfully. None of this has gotten him anywhere. House Republicans ignored a balanced and bipartisan immigration overhaul passed by the Senate. And Congress left town for its summer recess without acting on the

Anderson, South Carolina -- Marco Rubio came to South Carolina this week hoping to win over the kind of conservative hardliners who turned on him last year as the Senate immigration reform bill he sponsored hit a roadblock in the Republican-controlled House. By the time Rubio addressed a massive GOP fundraiser here on Monday evening, it wasn´t his right flank he had to worry about. The Florida senator and likely presidential candidate was the headline speaker at a "Faith and Freedom" barbecue fundraiser for Rep. The Free Syrian Army is not impressed with President Obama’s new threat to attack ISIS inside Syria. That’s like ‘tickling’ the terror group, the FSA says—and is too little, too late. U.S. airstrikes against ISIS, even if they extend into Syria as several Obama administration officials are signaling, don’t have a chance of destroying the terror group, moderate political and rebel leaders inside the country are cautioning. They have told The Daily Beast that air strikes will only make things worse unless there’s a coordinated plan to defeat ISIS. President Obama has put the My Brother’s Keeper initiative at the center of his response to racial unrest in Ferguson, Mo. But the president is also signaling that the program meant to provide opportunities to young men of color will be an important part of his post-presidency plans. As the 2014 midterm elections approached, the media were quick to criticize conservative donors like the Koch brothers for backing issues important to them. But journalists largely ignored the incredible financial power being used to promote the liberal agenda. Five top donors – Michael Bloomberg, Warren Buffett, Pierre Omidyar, Tom Steyer and George Soros’s own son, Jonathan – are major funders of the left. Together, they have contributed at least $2.7 billion since 2000 to groups pushing abortion, gun control, climate change alarmism and liberal candidates. That’s not how major media depicted them. The two are organizing a national day for students to walk out of school in remembrance of Michael Brown. The host asked Agnew about the just-completed funeral of Brown. These professors — like many in the media, academia and in Hollywood — will continue to scream the sky is falling until they force more polluters out of business and cause the loss of more American jobs. Should you be one of those scientists who dares to question global warming, you stand the chance — like Galileo and Copernicus when they went against the settled science of

There is a pervasive belief that poverty is a key driver of terrorism. American foreign aid increased under George W. Bush, justified partly by security concerns. Bush said at the time, “We work for prosperity and opportunity because they’re right. It’s the right thing to do. We also work for prosperity and opportunity because they help defeat terror.” Similarly Bill Clinton has stated “we have to create more opportunity for those left behind by progress, thus reducing the pool of potential terrorists.” This framing of poverty and development as national security issues continued with the Obama administration. A United Airlines flight from Newark to Denver was diverted because of two passengers who were fighting over a little bit of legroom. A woman and a man — both seated in the “Economy Plus” section of the aircraft, which already comes with extra legroom — were at each other’s throats because the man attached a “knee defender” device to his seat, preventing the woman in front from reclining, according the Associated Press. The $22 device locks onto the tray table on the back of the seat, making it impossible for the person in front to recline during the flight.
