New Zogby Analytics Poll

It turns out that there are some good reasons why the former Governor and GOP Presidential nominee is allowing his name to be circulated as a potential candidate in 2016. Some of those good reasons can be found in a new poll by Zogby Analytics showing him outpolling his nearest rivals for the nomination by about two to one. The poll of 315 likely Republican primary voters was conducted online on August 13-15 and has a margin of sampling error of +/-5.6 percentage points. Romney places first in the 2016 race for the nomination with 20%, followed by New jersey Governor

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and other top Democrats are increasingly frustrated with how disengaged President Obama is, according an article in the New York Times. The story, by reporters Carl Hulse, Jeremy Peters, and Michael Shear, is the second highly critical Obama story this week from the Times, which earlier noted that Obama was crafting his use of executive power “almost entirely behind closed doors” with “lobbyists and interest groups.” The article reveals that Obama coolly dismissed Reid during a meeting with Sen. Mitch McConnell and two other members of Congress in a meeting in June. “You and Mitch work it out,”

President Obama is doing his job, according to White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, who is now defending his handling of the Ferguson shooting and the civil unrest that has followed. “He’s doing his job and there’s no magic wand,” she said. “And there are no words that he can speak, alone, that will stop the violence.” Obama spoke publicly about Brown´s death on three different occasions after leaving for his August vacation on Martha´s Vineyard, calling for patience in the investigation and peace in the community. Jarrett spoke at length to Politico’s Todd Purdum for an article examining why

WASHINGTON — Eric Holder talks about the nation´s civil rights struggles in a way no previous U.S. attorney general could — by telling his own family story. As he increasingly pushes his Justice Department to protect voting rights and end unfair prison sentences and police brutality, Holder has drawn on personal history to make the case that the nation has much work to do to achieve justice for all. It´s a legacy he´ll likely draw on when he travels Wednesday to Ferguson, Missouri, to supervise the federal investigation of the fatal shooting of a black 18-year-old by a white police

It had seemed to the four clean-cut college freshman that night like a typical McDonald’s: spanking clean, well-lighted, and safe. It was in a good neighborhood too, right next to Texas A&M University in College Station – a campus known for its friendly atmosphere and official down-home greeting: “howdy” Out on a double date, the two couples pulled into the parking lot of so-called “University McDonald’s” shortly after 2 a.m. that Sunday – and beheld a scene unlike anything portrayed in all those wholesome McDonald’s television commercials. Before them, hundreds of young black males were loitering about, some without shirts. Other

Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly questioned on Wednesday why YouTube would allow the video of a journalist’s beheading be published on the website. “What the hell is the matter with YouTube,” O’Reilly said on America’s Newsroom. “Posting that. The beheading. What the hell is the matter with YouTube? Nobody should post that.” O’Reilly described the journalist in the video, James Foley, as “brave,” noting that he had only met him once for an interview. Foley “did work that others wouldn’t do,” O’Reilly said. “I mean, I wouldn’t do it.” O’Reilly said.

Anti-government activists in Syria have paid tribute to American war journalist James Foley, who is believed to have been beheaded by militants Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq. A freelance war journalist from Rochester, New Hampshire, Foley disappeared in northern Syria in November 2012 when a car he was travelling in was stopped by militants in a contested battle zone. On Tuesday, a brutal propaganda video shot by the fighters - formerly known as Isis - appeared to show Foley kneeling on the ground in the desert, being beheaded by a black-clad rebel. A day later, US officials speaking on a condition of anonymity said they

FERGUSON, Mo. — Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon said Tuesday that he would not seek the removal of the prosecutor overseeing the investigation into the fatal police shooting of Michael Brown, which has sparked more than a week of nightly clashes between protesters and police. St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch´s deep family connections to police have been cited by some black leaders who question his ability to be impartial. McCullouch´s father, mother, brother, uncle and cousin all worked for the St. Louis Police Department, and his father was killed while responding to a call involving a black suspect. Nixon said

A blockbuster new poll obtained by Breitbart News reveals that a majority of likely voters want to push the pause button on massive immigration, similar to what occurred between 1915-1964, which allowed legal immigrants a chance to more fully assimilate while the middle class expanded as wages increased. As President Barack Obama considers giving more guest-worker permits to companies that have laid off American workers and granting temporary work permits and executive amnesty to millions of more illegal immigrants, a comprehensive survey from Kellyanne Conway´s The Polling Company found that a majority of likely voters want even fewer legal immigrants. On July 6, 2013, a train carrying crude oil from the Bakken formation in North Dakota exploded in the middle of Lac-Mégantic, a small town in the Canadian province of Quebec. The incident was genuinely catastrophic, killing 47 people, and destroying half the town center. The derailment and explosion was the fourth-deadliest rail accident in Canadian history. Naturally, the Lac-Mégantic disaster set off a firestorm of protest, aimed at railroads, government, and the oil boom that is revolutionizing oil markets in the United States – the tremendous gusher coming from the Bakken formation, a gas-and-oil bearing shale formation that stretches

After several days off, I thought I might come back with a different perspective on our politics than what I had developed earlier in the summer. Perhaps things weren’t as bad for the Democrats as they seemed. Perhaps things were about to turn around for President Obama and his allies. Well, with 11 weeks to go until the 2014 midterm elections, nothing suggests that the Democrats have reached the bottom of the political trough they are in.The calamities, distractions and scandals we’ve seen during the Obama administration all come in such rapid succession that the half-life of any one is

Foley was kidnapped in Syria in November 2012. The militants said his killing is in retaliation for U.S. airstrikes in Iraq. Islamic State is also threatening to kill American journalist Steven Sotloff, who was kidnapped near the Syrian-Turkish border in August 2013. Foley´s family confirmed his death on a webpage created to rally support for him. His mother, Diane Foley, said in a statement on the webpage he "gave his

The events in Ferguson, Missouri, have launched a familiar spectacle: the race to be wrong first. Michael Brown, an 18-year-old African-American man, was shot by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson. The Washington Post had more on the story about what one witness called an “execution-style slaying”: “Lawyer Freeman Bosley Jr. said Dorian Johnson, a friend of Brown’s, has told the FBI that Officer Darren Wilson confronted the two because they were walking in the middle of the street. “Wilson cursed at the pair and ordered them onto the sidewalk, Bosley told The Washington Post. When they refused to comply, he said, the officer

Hackensack residents were warned to be alert as police hunted for a man who randomly approached and punched three others Monday night in what may be the first local incidents of “the knockout game.” The activity has resulted in one North Jersey death and plagued urban areas nationwide. The three separate, sudden assaults took place within 15 minutes and involved the same man, who appeared to be acting alone, police said. The knockout game typically involves a strolling group, with one person suddenly punching a passer-by and another recording video to display on a social media site. “Someone just walks

The Gateway Pundit can now confirm from two local St. Louis sources that police Officer Darren Wilson suffered facial fractures during his confrontation with deceased 18 year-old Michael Brown. Officer Wilson clearly feared for his life during the incident that led to the shooting death of Brown. This was after Michael Brown and his accomplice Dorian Johnson robbed a local Ferguson convenience store. The media´s frenzy that descended upon Ferguson, Mo. once again demonstrates its complete ignorance of life in the inner city. Anyone who has survived the barrios and the ghettos would recognize the usual cast of characters that converge on these incidents and would stay far away from them. But no-these media lapdogs shove mikes in their faces and actually believe their ´eyewitness´ versions that nearly always turn out to be bogus and nothing other than a self-serving photo op. Although many pundits are comparing the Ferguson riots to the 1960´s violent protests, one really has to go back further and examine
