Rosie O’Donnell, the past and future co-host of The View, on Friday reaffirmed her support of the 9/11 truther conspiracy theory. When asked by this writer if she continues to reject the idea that Muslim terrorists flew planes into buildings, O’Donnell tweeted in response, “i still do not believe the official story.” [See below for a screen shot of the tweet.] O’Donnell left The View in 2007 after battling with conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck. On March 29, 2007, she promoted trutherism, saying of September 11th: “I do believe it is the first time in history that fire has ever melted steel. I

On July 21-22, Christians United for Israel (CUFI–the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States, with nearly 1.8 million members and 10 times more Facebook “likes” (1,229,000) than AIPAC (79,000) and J Street (24,000) combined–held its ninth Washington Summit since its formation in 2006 by Pastor John Hagee. Nearly 5,000 delegates, from all 50 states, heard an array of top-tier speakers (including a stirring address from Israel’s U.S. ambassador, Ron Dermer, and panels with Elliott Abrams, William Kristol, and James Woolsey, among others). Then they lobbied Congress, with their principal talking point being

One of the largest ranches in the U.S. and an icon for Texas horse and cattlemen has been listed for $725 million, marking the end of a decades-long courtroom battle among the heirs of cattle baron W.T. Waggoner, who established the estate in 1923. The estate includes the 510,000-acre ranch spread over six North Texas counties, with two main compounds, hundreds of homes, about 20 cowboy camps, hundreds of quarter-horses, thousands of heads of cattle, 1,200 oil wells and 30,000 acres of cultivated land, according to Dallas-based broker Bernie Uechtritz, who is handling the sale along with broker Sam Middleton

On Saturday, 18-year-old Michael Brown was killed by police in Ferguson, Mo., a suburb of St. Louis. Belmar said the incident started when Brown physically assaulted the police officer, pushing him into the officer´s vehicle. He said there was a struggle inside the car, and at some point Brown reached for the officer´s weapon. One shot was fired inside the vehicle. Brown suffered fatal gunshot wounds outside of the vehicle, approximately 35 feet from

When he was running for re-election in 2012, President Barack Obama repeatedly took credit for ending the war in Iraq and bringing all U.S. troops home from that country. At the White House on Saturday, however, when talking about his decision to use military force against the al-Qaida-related ISIS terrorist group in Iraq, Obama said removing all U.S. troops from Iraq was not “my decision.” “You know I say what I mean and I mean what I say,” Obama said in Hollywood, Florida on Nov. 4, 2012. “I said I´d end the war in Iraq. I ended it.” That statement

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton drew a foreign policy line between herself and President Obama in an interview this week, saying the President should have assisted Syrian rebels early in the bloody three-year conflict there, and issuing a dig at his administration’s minimalist doctrine. The Obama administration’s wariness about assisting rebels out of fear aid would fall into the hands of extremists was misguided and ineffectual, Clinton said in an interview with The Atlantic, and allowed for the rise of Islamic extremists who are now threatening to take over wide swathes of Iraq. “The failure to help build up

Eventually the TRUTH comes out. It always does. The only question becomes “is anyone paying attention to it” ? Readers will note that since the word of the border crisis hit the media our research has indicated the entire construct of a humanitarian crisis for children is a ruse. There simply are not mass influxes of Unaccompanied Alien Children. For almost two months we have been repeating that it’s all a fraud – the influx is families, or more specifically women with children. There is no border crisis about unaccompanied alien children – period. Sure there are “some” unaccompanied minors, but no-where

The absurd attacks on Israel for exercising its right of self-defense in the past few weeks have only been surpassed in foolhardy dangerousness by the world’s virtual silence about the genocide being practiced against Christians and other minority religions in the Islamic State formerly known as northwestern Iraq. No matter how you try to wrap your head around the hypocrisy of people calling out Israel for supposed war crimes while at the same time closing their eyes to the uncomfortable truth of the barbaric genocide being waged by Islamic fundamentalists, you cannot do so. Hypocrisy of this dimension is almost demonic.

French forces have bombed Islamist militant positions in northern Mali. Four or five bombs were dropped in the Esssakane region, west of the city of Timbuktu on Sunday morning, the BBC´s Alex Duval Smith in Mali reports. The UN has said al-Qaeda militants were active in the area. Last month Timbuktu airport came under rocket attack. France intervened in Mali in January last year to try to drive out al-Qaeda-linked groups, which had taken over the north of the country. Last month the French government said it was setting up a new military operation to stop the emergence of jihadist groups in the Sahel region of Africa.

The Guardian, one of Britain´s most influential daily newspapers, used its editorial on Friday to warn of the dangers of European anti-Semitism that has been fueled in recent weeks by the tumult in Israel and Gaza. Citing the numerous violent attacks against Jews, synagogues, and other institutions on the Continent in recent years, the newspaper condemned "the conflation of Jews and Israel" while denouncing those who would exploit their anger over Israeli policies toward the Palestinians by attacking Jews in the diaspora. "The controversy has gained extra heat because of the alarming increase in anti-Jewish racism," the Guardian wrote."

Beirut — A cleric read the verdict before the truck came and dumped a large pile of stones near the municipal garden. Jihadi fighters then brought in the woman, clad head to toe in black, and put her in a small hole in the ground. When residents gathered, the fighters told them to carry out the sentence: Stoning to death for the alleged adulteress. None in the crowd stepped forward, said a witness to the event in a northern Syrian city. So the jihadi fighters, mostly foreign extremists, did it themselves, pelting Faddah Ahmad with stones until her body was dragged

I recently spelled out my support for Israel on Facebook. This is new for me. I´m an American baby boomer, and I always took it for granted that my country supported Israel, and that forces infinitely more powerful than I had the job covered. There´s another reason I previously hadn´t said much about Israel: I´m Polish-Slovak-American, and I am Catholic. Polish Catholics are stereotyped as the world´s worst anti-Semites. Poles suck anti-Semitism with their mother´s milk, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir famously declared.

Elections matter. President Obama proves it every day as he willfully seeks to wreck our nation. But this is very evident elsewhere, too. The 2010 elections reversed decades of Democrat majority control in state houses. Since then, GOP governors and legislatures all over the country have been restoring sanity to state government. Most Americans don’t know this of course, because the media won’t tell you. One good example is North Carolina. Republicans took over the North Carolina legislature in 2010, and Charlotte’s popular Republican mayor, Pat McCrory, won the governor’s mansion in 2012. This gave the GOP full

Unlike in previous midterm election years, no dominant national theme has emerged for the 2014 campaign, according to public opinion surveys as well as interviews last week with scores of voters in five key states and with dozens of politicians and party strategists. Even without a single salient issue, a heavy cloud of economic anxiety and general
