DENVER - Marijuana joined roses and dahlias Friday in blue ribbon events at the nation´s first county fair to allow pot competitions. This weekend´s Denver County Fair includes a 21-and-over "Pot Pavilion" where winning entries for plants, bongs, edible treats and clothes made from hemp are on display. There is no actual weed at the fairgrounds. Instead, fairgoers will see photos of the competing pot plants and marijuana-infused foods. A sign near the entry warns patrons not to consume pot at the fair. A speed joint-rolling contest uses oregano, not pot. The only real stuff allowed at the event? Doritos,

According to Saturday´s White House pool report, America shouldn´t be worrying about a fierce Ebola outbreak, our porous borders being overrun by tens of thousands of foreign unknowns, Russian adventurism, Iran´s nuke fetish, or Israel´s current struggle against an existential threat to its very existence -- because President Obama´s not worrying. He´s golfing. Again. From the pool report (received via email): WH says there are 12 golfers taking part in POTUS pre-birthday golf outing. Before departing, pool spotted Reggie Love and Marvin Nicholson and many sets of golf clubs. POTUS foursome includes

The Mouse that Roared was a 1955 literary satire which revolved around a tiny fictional duchy that ends up holding the world to ransom in midst of the Cold War. A sinister variation on yesteryear’s wacky theme appears to be enacted right now with diminutive Qatar – international terrorism’s single greatest bankroller – avidly wooed by the West and getting its own way. It needs be stressed that Qatar, which sways democracies, is not remotely democratic and its leadership is unelected. (Snip) Qatar has become a particular favorite of the Obama administration, which bolsters Qatari pretensions to parade as an

AKRON, Ohio -- Asked after his round Saturday at Firestone Country Club which holes he was the most pleased about through three rounds of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, Tiger Woods went the humorous route. "The 19th," he quipped. He smiled, but for Woods it was another day of frustration at a place where he has so often dominated. (Snip)"If I could just hit the ball a little better," Woods lamented. "I hit it pretty decent today, which was nice, I just didn´t (putt) well at all again. I couldn´t get comfortable with my setup and it just kind of worked out that way."

Former Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank questioned President Obama’s honesty regarding the rollout of Obamacare in a recent interview. He told The Huffington Post on Friday that he was shocked at the mishandling of the new health care law. “The rollout was so bad, and I was appalled—I don’t understand how the president could have sat there and not been checking on that on a weekly basis,” the former Democratic congressman told the website. “But frankly, he should never have said as much as he did, that if you like your current health care plan, you can keep it. That wasn’t true. And you shouldn’t lie to people. And they just lied to people,”

Tiger Woods struggled to a two-over-par 72 during the third round of the Bridgestone Invitational on Saturday and lost his cool along the way when he cursed at a cameraman who was closely following the former No. 1 golfer in the world. Woods hit a shot from the rough after a wayward drive at No. 6 when he began walking up the fairway as a cameraman came dashing his way. Woods appeared to begin to swing his club in anger toward the ground when he realized the cameraman was too close for comfort. He then not-so-politely asked the cameraman to give

The IDF has destroyed Hamas's flagship terrorism project; its network of cross-border tunnels that snuck under the border into Israel. The military also began to pull its forces out of the Gaza Strip on Saturday evening. Hamas has spent five years preparing this strategic threat; the IDF wrecked 31 tunnels in two weeks. By Sunday, all of the tunnels the IDF knew about, or discovered during the offensive, will be destroyed. A few tunnels that Israel doesn't know about may remain intact. Many of the underground passages were designed to send heavily armed murder squads into Israeli villages for killing sprees, and attack army positions from

They came during a speech in Kentucky before a crowd of several hundred GOP activists. Paul opened his speech by joking that he was losing sleep over Clinton´s money problems, according to National Journal.

It drops down a dozen metres or so before reaching a horizontal passage, lined with concrete and electric cables. Most are around a metre wide and perhaps 2.5m high, barely enough to accommodate a man carrying a heavy load of weaponry. The tunnels descend deeper, reaching up to 30m below the surface. Most are between one and three kilometres long and have many entrances and branches. They interconnect with other passages and with bunkers used as command centres and weapons stores and to keep Hamas´s

Republicans this week released e-mails showing that former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner expressed scorn for conservatives in an e-mail to an unidentified recipient — the name was redacted. Lerner’s remarks would be troubling if she sent them to another IRS official, but it ends up that she was communicating with her husband, Michael Miles, according to unredacted copies of the exchange that Democrats leaked on Friday. To review, Lerner used the term “__hole” to describe extreme conservatives after Miles complained about “the whacko wing of the GOP,” adding that “right wing radio shows are scary to listen to.”

House Republicans have passed legislation to shut down a program by President Barack Obama granting deportation relief to immigrants brought here illegally as kids, with many calling the bill a dead-end as the Senate leaves for summer break. [Snip] It also would block Obama from awarding work permits to other immigrants here illegally. The bill was supported by conservatives who demanded it as their price for backing a separate measure dealing with the crisis of unaccompanied minors flooding the border. The Senate has already adjourned for Congress´ summer recess so neither bill stands a chance of becoming law.
