Residents of Lucas County, Perrysburg and all communities that receive water from the city of Toledo were warned early today not to drink or boil the city’s water after the Collins Park water-treatment plant in East Toledo produced two microcystin sample readings. Chemists testing water at Collins Park plant found two sample readings for microcystin that exceeded the recommended “do not drink” standard of one microgram per liter standard. The city‘s plant provides treatment services to an area of approximately 400,000 people across 100 square miles.(Snip) The notice — posted on the city’s Facebook page shortly before 2 a.m. —

Obama´s Inexplicable Love

Even the American left is finally realizing that this is the strangest administration in living memory. Obama simply has no real precedents, which is why he seems so utterly foreign. American presidents tend to be pragmatists, but Obama is locked into a simpleminded ideology of Good vs. Evil. Obama is Good, and anybody who disagrees with him is Evil. Much of this oddity stems from the president’s personality, which many people have described as a mix of major narcissism, borderline personality disorder, and oppositional defiant disorder. Personality disordered people can be very functional in their jobs.

HOUSTON, Texas--As unaccompanied minors continue to illegally cross the Texas-Mexico border, President Obama´s Health and Human Services (HHS) has been quietly releasing them onto U.S. soil. A total of 30,340 unaccompanied minors have already been released from federal custody and placed into foster homes, according to HHS´ Office of Refugee and Resettlement (ORR). While many migrants have been released in border states like Texas and California, others have been set free in Alaska. A spokesman from HHS confirmed to Breitbart Texas that as of July 7, five unaccompanied minors were released in Alaska.

Federal safety regulators say that not only are General Motors ignition switches defective, so is GM´s website for determining if you are driving one of the defective cars. People who use the GM "VIN look-up" site are told their cars aren´t part of an active recall if the repair parts aren´t yet available, even when the cars are, in fact, being recalled. VIN is the vehicle identification number. GM and other automakers maintain websites that allow owners to check for recalls by plugging in their vehicle´s VIN. Montevideo - Latin America´s leaders are among the most vehement in condemning Israel´s Gaza offensive -- labelling the Jewish state "terrorist", recalling ambassadors, and offering near-unanimous, unwavering support to Palestinians. "I can´t remember another similar situation where (all the countries in the region) have reacted practically as a bloc," said political scientist Reginaldo Nasser, a professor at the Pontifical University in Sao Paulo, Brazil. One of the most symbolic recent developments came from Bolivian President Evo Morales -- one of the leaders of Latin America´s far left -- who put Israel on its list of "Terrorist States" and

A Hamas terror cell attacked a Givati unit on Friday in Rafah and kidnapped an officer after the Israeli soldiers discovered a large cross-border terrorism tunnel, stretching from Rafah deep into Israel, a senior army source said Saturday. The tunnel surfaced some two kilometers into Israeli territory, the source added. A tunnel shaft on the Gazan side surfaced in an open area surrounded by homes. Terrorists emerged from the shaft, and a suicide bomber detonated himself near the soldiers, before the officer was kidnapped, the source said. In the hours following the kidnapping, the IDF launched an intensive search in Rafah, accompanied by

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the closing of the century-old Drakes Bay Oyster Company, once called Johnson’s Oyster Farm, prompted quite an emotional reaction from its fans, with hundreds of them mourning its demise Thursday afternoon. The plaintive melody of “Auld Lang Syne” wafted from a bagpiper´s pipes as fans brought coolers, lemons, hot sauce, and cold beer to join the wake. Drakes Bay’s lease expired Thursday after the National Park Service previously decided it would transform the area into a marine sanctuary. The wholesale operation will stay in business through August, but the retail shop is permanently closed.

Administration officials have told allies in private meetings that both the current surge of Central American children crossing the border and Congress’s failure this year to pass a broader immigration overhaul have propelled the president toward taking action on his own by summer’s end. WASHINGTON, D.C. — Nobody — even those among their ranks — thought it could happen, but House conservatives cracked GOP leadership to get almost everything they wanted out of a supplemental appropriations immigration bill before the Congress broke officially for recess. Conservatives capitalized on a perfect storm of the new House GOP leadership team´s inability to whip enough votes Thursday and the hardline stance of key conservatives. Their effort was aided by aggressive movement activists, the conservative media, and a national mood against President Barack Obama — which led many Americans to call their representatives demanding they come up with

America can´t do it all. That was the overarching message from a somber and occasionally weary-sounding President Barack Obama as he briefed reporters Friday on a cascade of global crises. "Apparently, people have forgotten that America, as the most powerful country on earth, still does not control everything around the world," the president said in response to a question from veteran CBS reporter Bill Plante about whether the U.S. – and Obama himself – had lost influence in the world. Topping the list of affronts to world peace on Friday was the deteriorating situation in the Middle East after a
