Obamacare Architect´s ´Mistake´
About Subsidies Used by HHS as

Last Saturday, Breitbart News uncovered three reports and analysis written by Jonathan Gruber, an MIT economist and chief architect of Obamacare, stating that subsidies or tax credits will be provided to individuals “to purchase health insurance from private companies through state-organized exchanges.” These reports were discovered after a video clip surfaced of Gruber making similar comments on the clip. Gruber said his remarks were a "mistake" made while "speaking off-the-cuff." One of the three reports, titled “The Facts Straight on Health Care Reform,” was written by Gruber for The New England Journal of Medicine in December 2009. Breitbart has since

Global terrorist enterprises inspired by al-Qaida’s ideology pose a continuing threat to the United States. That threat has been enhanced by the presence of thousands of foreign fighters who have joined al-Qaida offshoots Jabhat al-Nusra and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, now known as the Islamic State. Armed with Western passports and “clean skins,” these Western volunteers can more easily get past security measures to threaten commercial aircraft or carry out other terrorist operations in the West. When these battle-hardened veterans come marching home, will they seek to bring the violent jihad with them? The United

The dead bodies of illegal immigrants are turning up in south Texas as Central Americans pour across the U.S.-Mexico border, and a veterinarian who ranches cattle 70 miles from ground zero has the photos to prove it. Dr. Mike ´Doc´ Vickers of Brooks County, Texas showed some of the grisly images to MailOnline, all of them far too grotesque to publish unedited. One picture shows a corpse propped up against a tree near his ranch in Brooks County, his eyes missing and dried blood cascading down his shirtless body. ´This guy, obviously, had to lay down up against that tree, and that´s where

ABC News reports that after Turkey’s Vice Prime Minster Bülent Arinç asserted Monday that one reason his country is suffering a moral decline is women laughing in public, he was mocked by Turkish women posting laughing selfies on social media. According to Hurriyet Daily News, Arinç said, “A man should be moral but women should be moral as well, they should know what is decent and what is not decent. She should not laugh loudly in front of all the world and should preserve her decency at all times.” Arinc added that a woman refraining from publicly laughing "will protect

Secret Service agents were told to break protocol and let actor Bradley Cooper´s unscreened vehicle into an off-limits area at a dinner honoring the president last year in Washington, D.C., a new book claims. An agent allegedly told author Ronald Kessler that Cooper was allowed to ride his vehicle up to the front door of the Washington Hilton on the night of the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2013 and bypass a regular sweep for explosives. All other vehicles - with the exception of Secret Service and their protectees - were required to approach the dinner site from drop-off point a block

Our government is so desperate to help illegal aliens settle in America that it’s footing the bill for a few to fly to beautiful Hawaii! No citizens allowed. From Watchdog.org: Kenneth Wolfe, a spokesman the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, told Watchdog.org that “between January 1 and July 7, a total of eight minors were discharged from the unaccompanied alien children program to sponsors in Hawaii.” * Wolfe couldn’t offer any details on the ages and countries of origin of the children, where the children are now living, or who is sponsoring them in Hawaii. However, he added the sponsors are “mostly

The Obama administration on Friday appealed the ruling that some subsidies under ObamaCare are illegal. The Justice Department filed a petition with the full D.C. Circuit Court asking the judges to review the ruling in Halbig v. Burwell that overturned some of the subsidies distributed to help people pay for health insurance. The 2-1 ruling dealt a major blow to the healthcare law, and if allowed to stand could demolish one of the pillars of the Affordable Care Act. “The disruption threatened by the panel majority’s erroneous interpretation and the direct conflict with King present a question of ‘exceptional importance’

Half a dozen children are listed as plaintiffs in the federal lawsuit naming Attorney General Eric Holder, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, and Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell as defendants. The lawsuit seeks to block deportation of just those children, unless the government can ensure adequate legal representation. However, the American Civil Liberties Union, American Immigration Council and other groups involved have also filed a lawsuit on behalf of thousands of children alleging the government has neglected to provide them with lawyers for their deportation hearings.

President Barack Obama blasted congressional Republicans Friday for failing to craft a workable response to the border crisis before leaving Washington for their summer recess, setting the stage for executive actions to address the surge in child migrants from central America. “House Republicans as we speak are trying to pass the most extreme and unworkable version of a bill that they already know is going nowhere, that can’t pass the Senate,” Obama said in a hastily-announced afternoon appearance in the White House press briefing room. “They´re not even trying to to solve the problem,” the president complained.

President Obama´s birthday is on August 4th, and the Republican National Committee is sending him a copy of the Constitution. You know, for review purposes. President Obama was, in a previous life, a professor of constitutional law. That´s what makes his blatant disregard for the Constitution so much more unfortunate. Not that ivory tower academics would be the best judges for the interpretation of the Constitution, but one would hope he´d have some base-level awareness of how it limits government powers. Unfortunately, he´s shown that not to be the case. As the RNC will write to its members: Unfortunately, President

In a speech to the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers today, Attorney General Eric Holder reiterated his criticism of mandatory minimum sentences, calling them "outdated and overly stringent." He also questioned the argument that mandatory minimums are necessary to encourage "cooperation": “Like anyone who served as a prosecutor in the days before sentencing guidelines existed and mandatory minimums took effect, I know from experience that defendant cooperation depends on the certainty of swift and fair punishment, not on the disproportionate length of a mandatory minimum sentence.”

The United Nations slammed Israel for possibly committing war crimes in its fight against Hamas — and then backed that accusation by suggesting the Jewish nation ought to be sharing its Iron Dome defensive technology with the very terror group it’s fighting. U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay said to members of the media at an “emergency” meeting of the U.N. WASHINGTON — Last summer, Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., embarked on what his office trumpeted as a four-day, 1,000-mile trip across his state, with press releases noting he "woke up early to hit the road," making stops at a minor league ballpark, a craft brewery and a Roanoke rail yard, among others. But for several hundred of those miles, Warner was not hitting the road — he was flying a chartered plane at a cost to taxpayers of $8,500. Warner was one of two dozen U.S. senators who flew taxpayer-funded charter airplanes to, from or around their home state last year

President Obama’s federal health care law may be headed to the Supreme Court – again.
The high court has been asked to review a July 22 ruling by the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals that declared constitutional all federal subsidies granted to enrollees of the health care system. The losing plaintiff in the case officially appealed the ruling in a petition Thursday to the Supreme Court. The Fourth Circuit ruling contradicted another announced hours earlier by a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia that ruled the IRS went too far in extending subsidies to those who buy insurance through the federally-run exchange, known as HealthCare.gov. It is likely to take weeks, if not months, to learn if the Justices will even take up the petition. It also is not yet clear how -- or if -- the Obama administration will appeal the first ruling.

The new measure´s price tag is said to be $694 million, up from $659 million -- but
