The other road to World War III

Readers who followed my many reports exposing the truth about the September 11, 2012 attack of the CIA compound in Benghazi that killed four Americans have witnessed the painfully slow process of that truth gradually evolving into the mainstream, validating my information and source. From beginning to end, the West, and particularly Americans, were lied to about nearly every aspect of our involvement in Libya, Syria and the entirety of the “Arab Spring” in the Middle East. These lies were deliberately advanced by a captured corporate media adherent to the same ideological bias as the Renegade-in-Chief and his staff of co-conspirators,

I received a call from my sons’ school in March telling me that my oldest needed to be picked up early. He had been given a one-day suspension because he had thrown a chair. He did not hit anyone, but he could have, the school officials told me. JJ was 4 at the time. I agreed his behavior was inappropriate, but I was shocked that it resulted in a suspension. For weeks, it seemed as if JJ was on the chopping block. He was suspended two more times, once for throwing another chair and then for spitting on a student

Some Republicans push compassionate,

The last time Republicans began running for president, there was a race to be the most confrontational, the most unbending. Mitt Romney said he was “severely conservative” and mocked the “47 percent.” Rick Perry called the Federal Reserve “treasonous.” Rick Santorum said he was “for income inequality.” What a difference a disastrous election, two years and terrible polling make. If 2012 was a contest to be the toughest, the 2016 presidential Republican primary is likely to include a competition to appear the most compassionate. The rebranding effort is taking center stage this week with pleas for more compassion from four

President Obama will attend the United Nations climate summit in New York in September, a move that would put a stamp on his administration´s agenda ahead of pivotal international negotiations next year in Paris. A White House aide confirmed Obama´s planned attendance in an email to the Washington Examiner. The news was first reported by Responding to Climate Change, which also noted Chinese President Xi Jinping is slated to appear. Obama has fewer miles to travel than his Chinese counterpart, but his presence is just as symbolic. He´ll be backing proposed Environmental Protection Agency rules on emissions from both new

The House Rules Committee approved a resolution Thursday that would authorize Congress to sue President Obama over how he implemented parts of Obamacare. Its 7-4 vote along party lines forwards the resolution to the GOP-run chamber, where it is expected to pass. Committee Chairman Pete Sessions, Texas Republican, said the lawsuit is necessary because Mr. Obama failed “to faithfully execute the law” and is therefore encroaching on Congress‘ power to write laws. Without redress, he added, future presidents will have “free rein” to ignore the wishes of the legislative branch. “Laws are not a mere list of suggestions from which

A federal jury today found the state’s former Probation Department commissioner and his top lieutenants guilty of racketeering conspiracy for running a years-long rigged hiring system. Former Probation Commissioner John J. O’Brien and his deputies — William H. Burke III and Elizabeth V. Tavares — were accused of a patronage-based scheme in which they would hand out jobs to the politically connected in a quid pro quo with state legislators. (Snip) An all-star defense squad argued that their clients did nothing wrong — they were part of a business-as-usual approach to hiring in the Bay State.

Three American citizens, including The Washington Post’s correspondent in Iran, appear to have been detained this week in Tehran, U.S. officials and the newspaper said Thursday. Washington Post foreign editor Douglas Jehl said the newspaper has received “credible reports” that correspondent Jason Rezaian and his wife, Yeganeh Salehi, were detained Tuesday evening in Tehran. It is unclear who detained them or why. “We are deeply troubled by this news and are concerned for the welfare of Jason, Yeganeh and two others said to have been detained with them,” Jehl said in a statement.

Waiting for a passport or visa? Sorry, the State Department is having some computer troubles. A global database that houses all the information related to issuing travel documents crashed over the weekend, and by all accounts the glitch is not fixed and no one knows when it will be. We hear it’s causing quite a headache for consulates around the world. The State Department did not respond to the Loop’s query about who exactly is affected and how many. Department spokeswoman Marie Harf acknowledged the problem, according to an Associated Press report, saying, “We apologize to applicants and recognize this

Notoriously angry actor Alec Baldwin is not apologizing over an incident that led to a disorderly conduct arrest in May. Baldwin told a Manhattan judge Thursday he´d rather pay a fine than say sorry over the encounter that started when police stopped him for riding a bicycle the wrong way down a one-way street. To a packed courtroom, a clearly amused Judge John Delury asked the actor, ´Can you stay out of trouble, Alexander?´ A rather sheepish Baldwin replied, ´Sure, sure.´ The judge then gave him an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal. ´Be a good boy from now on,´ Delury bantered. ´Have a

JIHADISTS in Iraq have ordered that all women between the ages of 11 and 46 must undergo female genital mutilation, which could affect up to four million women and girls in the war-ravaged country, a UN official said last night. The UN’s second most senior official in Iraq, Jacqueline Badcock, said, “It is a fatwa (or religious edict) from ISIS, we learnt about it this morning. We have no precise numbers.” The Islamic State, formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS), took over large swathes of the country last month and has begun imposing its extreme Salafist

The 76-year-old Fouad Massoum, one of the founders of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan party led by Iraq´s previous President Jalal Talabani, accepted the mostly ceremonial position after winning two-thirds of the votes in parliament, noting the "huge security, political and economic tasks" facing the next government. A year after news of the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke, former First Lady Hillary Clinton allegedly told a Pulitzer-prize winning journalist that it was former President Bill Clinton’s abusive mother that caused his unfaithfulness and sex addiction, a new book claims. That journalist was Lucinda Franks and while her latest book, “Timeless: Love, Morgenthau, and Me,” doesn’t have much to do about the Clintons, the part that does offers never before reported information from a 1999 interview with the former First Lady. The New York Daily News obtained parts of the book a month before its scheduled August 2014 release.

Perry on Wednesday described the influx of illegal aliens into the Rio Grande Valley as a "full-blown" crisis that puts Texas citizens "in jeopardy." Since the fall of 2008, more than 203,000 illegal aliens have

President Barack Obama will call Thursday for an end to a corporate loophole that allows companies to avoid federal taxes by shifting their tax domiciles overseas in deals known as "inversions," White House officials said. So-called inversion deals occur when a U.S. company acquires or sets up a foreign company, then moves its U.S. tax domicile to the foreign company and its lower-tax home country. Nine inversion deals have been agreed to this year by companies ranging from banana distributor Chiquita Brands International Inc to drugmaker AbbVie Inc and more are under consideration. The tragic downing of Malaysian Airlines Flight 17 on July 17 by Russian-armed troops provides another occasion for the West to use its superior power to bring Russia’s war in Ukraine to an end. This assertion may sound surprising but nobody denies that the West, if it acts in unison, possesses more than enough power to force Russia to stop its war in Ukraine, withdraw its soldiers who shot down this plane, and move out all of its weapons. Yet the West has only employed a fraction of its power to date, driven as it is by commercial considerations and

Barack Obama has skated from crisis to crisis this summer, from insurgents invading Iraq, an avalanche of unaccompanied minors crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, the re-ignition of Israel-Palestinian violence and another contentious standoff with Russia. But new polling finds that, despite a wave of bad news, Obama´s job approval ratings have not budged. At all. Here´s what the data show: A CNN/Opinion Research poll concluding Sunday found 42 percent approving of Obama, one point below June, May and March; 55 percent have disapproved in each of the last three polls. Gallup´s daily tracking poll released Wednesday found 42 percent approved and

Man´s best friend takes that BFF thing seriously. Pay too much attention to a dog other than your own and you´d better be prepared to explain yourself when you get home. If the science of animal behavior had an official curse word, it would be “anthropomorphism.” That’s just a fancy term for the sin of assigning human qualities to animals. Your dog might look happy and your cat might seem disdainful, but since you most likely think of your pet as a little person already, your judgements are automatically suspect.
