IRS backup tapes discovered!

You can tell that this is a huge story because the Mainstream Media are completely ignoring it, leaving Fox News the privilege of continuing to break the story that could well be bigger than Watergate. It requires a bit of reading between the lines (though not a lot) to grasp what is going on. Yesterday, IRS head John Koskinen revealed in testimony before Darrell Issa’s House Oversight Committee (via Fox): ...that investigators looking into missing emails from ex-agency official Lois Lerner have found and are reviewing "backup tapes" -- despite earlier IRS claims that the tapes had been recycled.

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world —W.B. Yeats, “The Second Coming” Wherever we look today—from the Fertile Crescent in the Middle East to the post-Cold War frontier in Ukraine to the South China Sea to our border with Mexico— our world appears to be falling apart. This naturally raises a serious question in the minds of many people: If America, the indispensable nation, had been doing its job of holding the global system together, couldn’t this chaos and anarchy have been avoided? The simple answer is, yes. But if you listen to Hillary Clinton, the unraveling of the

Many of you were no doubt busy at work these past 24 hours or seeking work or giving up seeking work. So we´ve thoughtfully assembled a quick update of the more important news during this period: Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his reply to President Obama´s demand to rein in Russian insurgents scorching eastern Ukraine. Using Putin's Buk missiles, the rebels downed two more Ukrainian fighter jets; one pilot was killed, the other ejected over insurgents and his fate can only be guessed. Crash investigators arrived in the same area to poke through what's left of the Malaysian passenger jet wreckage downed by a previous Russian Buk.

Diseases which were rife in the Victorian era are making a comeback, according to official figures. NHS statistics disclose that the number of cases of gout and scarlet fever have almost doubled within five years, with a rise in other illnesses such as scurvy, cholera, whooping cough and malnutrition. In 2013/14, more than 86,000 hospital admissions involved patients who were diagnosed with gout – an increase of 78 per cent in five years, and of 16 per cent on the year before. The painful condition, linked to over-indulgence in rich foods and alcohol, and associated with wealthy historical figures, was most common among

In the Georgia Republican runoff this week, David Perdue won the right to represent Republicans in the general election this fall. His win has placed the final piece of the puzzle for the political landscape this season in Georgia. With less than four months until the fall election, not a minute can be wasted by either side. The Senate race has become an oddity, with two CEOs (one business, one non-profit and both with politically recognizable family names) vying to become the next United States Senator from Georgia. Hamas rejected Secretary of State John F. Kerry’s call for a cease-fire amid concerns that an agreement won’t be reached before other parties are drawn into its conflict with Israel. John Kerry has spent much of this week shuttling between Middle Eastern capitals, trying to get Hamas and Israel to put down their guns in Gaza. For his efforts, Kerry probably did not expect to be suspected of being an armed threat himself. Yet that was what briefly happened on Tuesday, when Kerry was stopped by security guards as he entered Cairo´s presidential palace to meet Egypt´s president Abdel Fatah al-Sisi. Footage shows America´s top diplomat being "wanded" with a hand-held electronic scanner. It was a move that raised eyebrows among members of Kerry´s travelling press corps, who said the US

President Barack Obama is tapping into growing misgivings about tax-driven overseas mergers by U.S. corporations, issuing a new call to end the practice quickly and questioning the patriotism and citizenship of those companies. The push comes amid a developing trend by companies to reorganize with foreign entities partly to reduce their tax payments in the U.S. But Obama's election-year drive also coincides with increased attention to the issue by congressional Democrats, who are seeking to draw contrasts with Republicans and to portray them as too corporate-friendly. Obama was scheduled to address the issue in remarks

Paracetamol has little impact on lower back pain and does not help sufferers recover more quickly, or improve pain levels, sleep or quality of life, research suggests. The painkiller is commonly prescribed for the most common form of back pain which usually feels like an ache, tension or stiffness. The Australian study, published in The Lancet, was the first large randomised trial to compare the effectiveness of paracetamol with a placebo for lower back pain. The study randomly assigned 1,652 individuals with an average age of 45 and with acute lower back pain from 235 primary care centres in Sydney

The US government, which has refused to act decisively to control the horde of children entering the US via Mexico from Central America (estimated to be nearly 60,000 from October 2013 to June 2014) certainly had no compunctions about expelling a helpless child back to terrible conditions in the case of Elian Gonzalez back in 1999 during the Clinton regime. In that case, the Feds were wrong to send a child back to a communist dictatorship, where he lives today, a member of the Union of Young Communists, propagandist for the regime, and personal “friend” of Fidel Castro.

IT TOOK just a few words for state Sen. Chris McDaniel to stoke tea party fervor after his runoff loss in the Mississippi Republican primary to incumbent Sen. Mr. McDaniel, who lost by about 7,600 votes, claimed that there were voting “irregularities,” insisting that those who voted in the June 3 Democratic primary illegally cast ballots three weeks later in the Republican runoff.
