Saturday in Denver at the Western Conservative Summit former Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK) slammed Attorney General Eric Holder for his appearance on ABC´s "This Week" last Sunday when he accused Obama administration detractors of being motivated by race. Palin slammed Holder, saying, "I don´t need lectures from Eric Holder." Taunting him, she continued, "Not many cabinet members in U.S. history have been held in contempt of Congress." The Tea Party firebrand urged, "instead of shamelessly playing that race card," he should look at the protests in black and latino communities about the resources going to the illegal immigrant children flooding across the

Saturday in Denver at the Western Conservative Summit, former Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK) made the argument for impeaching President Barack Obama, saying, "No serious person can deny President Obama has violated the constitution." Listing the president´s high crimes and misdemeanors as his illegal changes to ObamaCare, the IRS targeting of conservatives, the DOJ targeting reporters, and the VA killing veterans, Palin said Obama is "radically changing the balance of power." She ended by declaring, "We had a revolution in 1776 because we don´t do kings."

Rory McIlroy´s father Gerry is in line for a share of a £200,000 jackpot should the Northern Irishman capitalise on his six-shot lead and win the Open Championship on Sunday. McIlroy’s father placed a £100 bet 10 years ago that his son would win golf’s oldest major before the age of 26 and the 25-year-old is the overwhelming favourite to secure his third major title after a stunning finish to his third round, including two eagles in the last three holes. He has already won the US Open in 2011 and the PGA Championship in 2012, but McIlroy must claim

WASHINGTON — THE thing about him is, he just keeps going. At 67, he continues to be, as Anna Quindlen once wrote, like one of those inflatable toys with sand weighting the bottom — you knock him over and he pops back up. As Hillary stumbles and President Obama slumps, Bill Clinton keeps getting more popular. The women, the cheesy behavior, the fund-raising excesses, the self-pity, the adolescent narcissism, the impeachment, the charges of racially tinged insults against Obama in 2008, the foundation dishabille — all that percussive drama has faded to a mellow saxophone riff for many Americans. There are times when the endless crises and conflicts of our times reach such paroxysms of senseless tragedy that the world cries out for a halt. The strife in eastern Ukraine made little sense even before it brought down a civilian jetliner, taking the lives of 298 passengers and crew members with no connection whatsoever to the fight. The outcry was immediate, and the bulk of it was focused on Russia for its support — denied but obvious — for pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine. According to American officials, the Malaysia Airlines jetliner, Flight 17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur,

On Saturday, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said the impeachment threat is making a lawless President Barack Obama a bit "nervous." A week after Palin called for Obama to be impeached over his lawlessness on immigration on the pages of Breitbart News, two-thirds of Republicans believed that impeachment is justified while a majority of independents felt that Obama has overstepped his Constitutional authority. Speaking at the Western Conservative Summit in Colorado, Palin said "considering articles of impeachment is the check" against a lawless executive branch. Citing Obama´s "dereliction of duty" in enforcing the country´s immigration laws and securing the border,

A female general who has never piloted a military aircraft has been nominated by US President Barack Obama to head the Air Force in the Pacific. Air Force Lt. Gen. Lori J. Robinson was nominated by the president for a fourth star and to be commanding general of the military branch’s Pacific operations. If confirmed, she will be the first four-star female commander of combat forces, the Pentagon announced. But many wonder if her lack of experience in the air puts US forces on a highway to the danger zone. ‘You make operational decisions that require the understanding of what you

The findings come just as doctors are being told to offer the cholesterol-lowering drugs to millions more people in a massive expansion of prescribing. [Snip] Last night experts called for an urgent review of the recommendations before statins are prescribed on a “mass basis”. The breast cancer study is funded by the US government National Cancer Institute and involves nearly 3,000 women. It found those who took statins over a period of 10 years or more had double the risk of breast cancer. Some experts also claim other, widely reported side effects, including diabetes, impotence, cataracts, muscle pains, mental impairment,

PARIS — Police have clashed with thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters who defied a ban in Paris on marching to protest the Israeli offensive in Gaza. Some of the protesters threw stones and other objects at riot police, who responded with rounds of tear gas.Several climbed onto a building under construction, burning an Israeli flag. Others waved a Palestinian flag from atop a street sign. French authorities banned a pro-Palestinian march after a protest last Sunday turned violent, with two synagogues attacked. Hundreds of riot police were out Sunday to enforce the ban. The protesters still managed to hang banners reading “Palestine

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip -Israeli bulldozers on Saturday demolished more than a dozen tunnels the military said were being used by Hamas gunmen to sneak beneath the southern border of the Jewish state and carry out attacks on its soldiers and civilians. Palestinians reported intensified airstrikes and shelling as the death toll from Israel´s ground offensive rose to at least 342 Palestinians, including many civilians. Five Israelis — three soldiers and two civilians — have also been killed since the fighting began more than 10 days ago, and dozens of Israelis have been injured as Gaza rockets continue to rain

Terrorists in Gaza attempted to attack IDF soldiers with an explosives-laden donkey on Friday, the military said. IDF forces operating in the Rafah area near the Gaza-Egypt border located the donkey suspiciously approaching their position and were forced to open fire at it, causing the explosives to detonate. No injuries were sustained to the soldiers. The military expressed its regret over the "shocking" incident, and condemned terrorists in Gaza for strapping bombastic devices to innocent animals as a means of attacking Israeli forces. "This cruel incident is the most recent attempt by Gaza terror organizations to make such an abominable

JERUSALEM — Hamas militants intensified their attacks on Israeli forces Saturday, killing two soldiers on Israeli soil and attacking others with antitank missiles, machine guns, even an explosives-laden donkey, apparently undaunted by Israel’s incursion into the Gaza Strip. As the conflict stretched into its 12th day, the militants’ resilience seemed to upend the narrative provided by Israel of a Hamas severely weakened by the Israeli ground offensive, airstrikes, artillery barrages and the ongoing destruction of its tunnel network. In their most audacious attack Saturday, Hamas fighters dressed in Israeli army uniforms slipped from central Gaza into Israel through a tunnel and attacked

It’s tricky to uphold Royal traditions when you’re not quite one – but Prince George has proved himself more than equal to the nation’s favourite: the walkabout. Invented by the Queen on an overseas tour in 1970 to ensure she was seen by her fans, it’s been an essential part of the Royal repertoire ever since. And now, in a portrait released to mark his first birthday on Tuesday, the third in line to the throne has shown he’s learned an early lesson from his great grandmother. Like her, he’s delighting his audience with a trademark outfit, sensible shoes and

A new US geological survey indicates that some parts of the US are at an increased risk of earthquakes, especially along the east coast. New seismic hazard maps updated for the first time since 2008 show highest risk west but also increased risk east. "The eastern US has the potential for larger and more damaging earthquakes than considered in previous maps and assessments," the report states. The East Coast experienced one of its largest quakes for 100 years in 2011. The 5.8 magnitude quake was centred on rural Virginia but was felt by hundreds of thousands of people, including in Washington DC.
