(Video) WILMINGTON, NC -The #DefendFreedom Summer Tour put on by Concerned Veterans for America has put out a call to action to fellow Americans. They are asking the country to stand up and support those who have served our country, not just while they are deployed, but also when they come back home. Hundreds gathered outside the USS North Carolina Battleship in Wilmington Friday to hear speakers like Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer, New York Times best-selling author and decorated Army Ranger Sean Parnell, Navy SEAL Gold Star mother Karen Vaughn, and CVA CEO and Fox News contributor Pete

In a July 10 piece, Reuters writer Steve Holland thought he saw Obama "dropping" his usual "political decorum" by directly attacking Republicans this month. However, since the day he entered the White House, this President has made a career of sharp jabs, name calling, and political mudslinging. "President Barack Obama may look back on this week," Holland insisted, "as the time when he dropped all pretense of political decorum and let all his frustrations with Washington gridlock spill forth." Saying that Obama´s "tone was significantly sharper" during his visit to Austin, Texas this week, (Snip) One wonders where Reuters has

GOP Keeps House Edge

Raleigh, NC - Democrats have long claimed that Republicans abused their legislative powers to elect a disproportionate number of U.S. House members. Now a Florida court is lending credence to their complaint. The full impact of the Florida ruling — plus a similar lawsuit pending in North Carolina — won’t be known for some while. For now, at least, they shine light on the fiercely partisan practice of gerrymandering, in which state officials draw congressional districts to help their party. Republicans and Democrats have engaged in gerrymandering for decades. Republicans refined the practice in 2011,

Mississippi Tea Party Candidate Claims

Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel, who is in the process of pursuing a legal challenge to his loss in the June 24 U.S. Senate Republican primary runoff, said Friday his campaign has found more "questionable votes" than the runoff´s margin of victory. In a statement released by his campaign, McDaniel said an examination of voting rolls in Mississippi found 8,300 "questionable votes." He didn´t release specific evidence or a county-by-county breakdown, as has the campaign of his challenger, U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran. The statement did not make clear what McDaniel meant by "questionable votes."

The Israeli military said on Saturday that overnight it had struck a mosque in central Gaza that held a concealed weapons cache. The move was likely to fan Palestinian outrage during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. In Gaza, health officials said that the death toll from the Israeli airstrikes had reached 120, with hundreds more wounded. Many of those killed and wounded were said to be civilians, including women and children. Israel’s military said that over five days of fighting it had struck more than 1,160 targets in Gaza, including rocket launchers, weapon manufacturing and storage facilities and private

Central American children are pawns in the Democratic Party’s pursuit of political advantage through an open Southern border. Gilberto Ramos is just one of their most recent victims. The Guardian recently told Gilberto’s story: “Gilberto Ramos wanted to leave his chilly mountain village for the United States to earn money to treat his mother´s epilepsy. His mother begged him not to go. "The better treatment would have been if he stayed," Cipriana Juarez Diaz said in a tearful interview with the Associated Press on Tuesday. When he wouldn´t relent, she draped him with a white rosary for safe passage.

Glenn Beck has set up Mercury One Children and Family Border Relief Fund to help illegals coming into the United States. He’s already raised $600,000. Beck stated that Obama would not have to step in and ask for $3.7 billion if private charities would pick up the slack and give to the swarm of illegals crossing the border. Is he kidding? Do we really need more churches and non-profits enabling this blatant attack on America? Rich people and liberal elite billionaires have no skin in the game when it comes to the consequences of illegal immigration so what do they care? It’s the working class and middle class who will take the hit.

I can remember several times when Obama just started to laugh in public at various disasters triggered by his policies. Happy laughter now seems to be the official White House reaction to domestic and international chaos and human suffering. You could call it leading with Obama’s big strength -- a great smile on TV -- while avoiding the worst of his weaknesses -- his inability to actually solve anything. About a year ago when painfully high black unemployment figures were mentioned, especially among young black men, Obama gave a happy smile in response. Then when “NATO” (i.e., the U.S.) started to bomb and overthrow the stabilizing regime

While President Barack Obama’s job approval rating was highest, by religion, among Muslims, other non-Christians, Jews (by faith), and atheists, his highest job disapproval ratings were among Christians -- Catholics, Protestants, Mormons, and other Christians. In the survey, conducted January-June 2014, Gallup asked about Obama’s job approval and disapproval, by religion. While 72% of Muslims and 54% of atheists expressed approval, only 44% of Catholics did, and only 37% of Protestant/Other Christian and 18% of Mormon/Latter-day Saints.

As a defender of the nation’s borders, President Obama is a hell of a pool player. The president enjoyed a game at a bar in Denver with Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper the other day, without the noir atmosphere of his furtive visits to pool halls with his grandfather as a kid, when he felt “the enticement of darkness and the click of the cue ball, and the jukebox flashing its red and green lights.” Obama’s game the other day was bright and cheery, as one would expect of a president who didn’t have any depressing visits to frightened ranchers, overwhelmed border agents or desperate migrants on his future itinerary.

Just this week, while teachers, schoolchildren, and families frolic in the summer sun, blessedly free of government supervision at least for these few months, the Obama administration resurfaced an old rule from President Bush’s tenure that may have states redistributing teachers like so many cattle. It attempted the same last September, far more directly, but in the meantime has had its hands busy juggling its many new interpretations of education law to suit the shifting fancies of National Superintendent, er, Education Secretary Arne Duncan. A huge question in Democratic politics - other than “When is Hillary going to announce?” - concerns whether or not Senator Elizabeth Warren (D – Cherokee Nation) will run for president. If Hillary does not run, it is almost certain that Warren will. Well-known for her populist and Occupy-esque perspectives on healthcare, taxes, income redistribution and everything in-between, she is one of the rising stars of the Democratic party. ‘Speaker John A. That Obamacare and not immigration is the proximate target should surprise nobody who is attuned to contemporary politics. Health reform remains a rich source of opportunity for the GOP; immigration an electric fence. But to obsess about the specifics of the assumpsit would

Still, the intimate knowledge of the electromagnetic spectrum learned during a career in military and intelligence agencies offers some advantages. The Obama administration estimates it will catch 90,000 illegal immigrant children by the end of the current budget year in September. Last year, fewer than 2,000 children were returned home to their native countries. Only 1 in 45 illegal alien children will be returned home. Clogged courts mean young immigrants face low odds of being sent back to their home countries. A lasting legend from Russia’s Communist Revolution illustrates the attitude of the Progressive Left toward the middle class: the examination of rounded up citizens by the revolutionaries. If a captive’s hands weren’t calloused, he was executed. That doesn’t fit America; better to enlist the citizens in the deconstruction. Though slower than the Russian approach, that hasn’t proven difficult; the left´s programs are popular with voters. America’s middle class is a historical anomaly, a result of combining British government and jurisprudence; classical liberalism; a disparate stream of immigrants and an entire new,

This much we know: Israel lives under constant threat from terrorists who would like nothing better than to exterminate the Jewish state that they consider an outright abomination. This much we have also come to understand: In polite society, it is increasingly fashionable to roll one’s eyes or outright indict Israel for daring to defend itself against those who aim to indiscriminately kill its people and undermine its right to exist. The cycle continues as Hamas fires hundreds of rockets at Israeli cities, and Israel responds with far more precise and effective salvos at terrorists. All too predictably, international condemnation is starting

One side effect from the chaos in Libya following the armed conflict in 2011 has been constant disruptions of the country’s considerable supplies to the global oil market. But while its output remains just a fraction of what it was under Qaddafi, it does seem to be rebounding recently, as Bloomberg reports: Libya pumped 300,000 barrels a day in June, down 73 percent from a year earlier, according to a Bloomberg survey of oil companies, producers and analysts. Output has risen to 350,000 barrels a day, National Oil Corp. spokesman Mohamed Elharari said by phone yesterday. This recent rebound notwithstanding, risks abound

As of Friday, no Israelis had been killed by Gaza rockets, although one caused the first serious instance of multiple injuries on the Israeli side
