Glenn Greenwald´s ´Innocent´ Muslims
List Includes People With Alleged
Ties To Islamic Extremism

On Wednesday, Glenn Greenwald released the names of five Muslim-Americans on whom, he alleged, the FBI and the NSA have unfairly spied. However, what is clear after further investigation is that the five named individuals in the Greenwald expose’ have alleged ties to extremism, and also have allegedly engaged in radical activities. The first person on Greenwald’s list is Faisal Gill. Gill was a spokesman for the American Muslim Council (AMC) while under the leadership of now-jailed Islamist radical Abdurahman Alamoudi, who was indicted and pleaded guilty in 2003 for financing terrorism and assassination plots.

Calling it guilty of a "profound betrayal of the ideals of the civil rights movement," the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees announced this week that was severing its partnership with the United Negro College Fund. Why? Because UNCF has accepted donations from conservative philanthropists the Koch brothers, and Dr. Michael Lomax, the fund´s president, spoke at a Koch-sponsored event. Lomax told AFSCME to get over it. "UNCF has over 100,000 donors with a wide range of views, but they all have one thing in common: They believe in helping young students of color realize their dreams of

STARKE – Florida prison officials today executed a man convicted of the 1994 rape and slaying of an 11-year-old girl. It was the state’s sixth execution this year. Eddie Wayne Davis was executed by injection at Florida State Prison at 6:43 p.m. Davis declined to say any final words before his sentence was carried out. Executioners put the IV needle into Davis’ left arm around 6:30 p.m. Davis began muttering to himself after the process began, but witnesses in the viewing area couldn’t hear what he was saying because the speakers had been turned off. Davis’ chest heaved up and

We have been told that Rick Perry was invited to attend Obama’s round table immigration meeting with a group of government officials and “faith leaders.” It was another of his behind-closed-doors meetings, so it is still unclear exactly who was in attendance. Photos cut off the table of participants so they are not all shown. One published list of participants is from Christian Post: Those who attend the border crisis meeting at Love Field Airport in Dallas include: Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings; Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (R-Texas); Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen; Chris Liebrum of the Baptist General Convention; Arne

President Obama called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today for the first time since the murder of three Israeli teens touched off the latest rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip. “The president reiterated the United States’ strong condemnation of continuing rocket fire into Israel by Hamas and other terrorist organizations in Gaza and reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself against these attacks. The president expressed concern about the risk of further escalation and emphasized the need for all sides to do everything they can to protect the lives of civilians and restore calm,” the White House said in a readout

Laughing off the IRS, NSA, Benghazi, Iraq, Afghanistan, Obamacare and border scandals. Ha-ha-ha. Ho-ho-ho. Preston has a remarkable series of photographs showing the president just cracking up before a grim faced governor Rick Perry. Out in the dark the howling starts. Awoooo. But the real news isn’t the proposal of Palin, but Boehner. Boehner would never go in the water unless he was reasonably sure

A militia has set up a command center south of San Antonio to prepare for what they say is a mission to protect the United States from the influx of illegal immigrants. The militia, operating via the website PatriotsInformationHotline.com, founded by Barbie Rogers, said members at the command center in Von Ormy will deploy to Laredo first and spread to other parts of the border, a local ABC affiliate reported. Chris Davis, the 37-year-old commander of the group, would not disclose how many members make up the militia, but said the troops would deploy “in a few weeks.” “We have patriots all across this country who are willing to sacrifice their

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has hired an environmental nutrition consultant to oversee its Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, which has already faced criticism for introducing climate change into nutrition policy. Angela Tagtow was named executive director of the USDA’s Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, which oversees the committee in charge of creating new federal nutrition standards. A “good food” activist, Tagtow founded Environmental Nutrition Solutions, whose mission is to change the food system by making it more “sustainable, ecologically sound, [and] socially acceptable.” She formerly was the endowed chair for the Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture. Statement coming in minutes. #IRSscandal Lerner has come under renewed scrutiny this week on two fronts. Emails show that she was aware of a key email that later went “missing.” More importantly, other released emails show that she sought to hide information from Congress as it was investigating the IRS targeting of Tea Party groups. There is no better manifestation of the rancorous partisan gridlock that has gripped Congress in recent years than the parties´ proxy war between Reps. Elijah Cummings and Darrell Issa. Issa, 60, is the firebrand Republican chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. He has hammered the Obama administration over its handling of the Benghazi attacks, the IRS and Veterans Affairs scandals, as well the troubled rollout of its heathcare.gov website and a host of other hot-button issues. It has been up to Cummings, 63, the panel’s top Democrat, to be the first line of defense for the administration

President Obama was absolutely swamped the other night, staving off the munchies at a pizza party in the Mile High city, hobnobbing as headliner at numerous Democrat shindigs, collecting big bucks from big donors all day. Whew. Exhausting. Especially exhausting must be trying to change pace and pivot through the fundraising parties, knowing they’re thrown by those much maligned “fat cats” (Obama’s words, not mine). The president conveniently disparages these fat cats in public, but in private their group hugs are a whole lot of cuddlin,’ purrin’ and rolling over for more tummy tickling from the one who feeds them.

Dyson challenged him on slavery, arguing it was worse (to a degree) when America did it because there was actually religious justification being trotted out. Elliott Abrams, writing for the Council on Foreign Relations: Israel is under attack by the terrorist group Hamas. Hundreds of rockets have fallen on its cities and towns. Millions of Israelis run, and must pull their children, into shelters each day. Prime Minister Netanyahu has discussed this with French president Hollande and with German chancellor Merkel. But not with President Obama, who has not seen fit to call Netanyahu or take a call from him. This is quite amazing behavior for an ally. I am aware as all readers are that the two men have a difficult relationship, but that is no justification.

The headline in the New York Times over the weekend was straightforward: “Unease in G.O.P. Well, there’s an understatement. Just last night Texas Senator Ted Cruz was on Mark Levin´s show talking about “the D.C. machine” running “false attacks” that were “racially charged” and demanding that allegations of criminal conduct — one man reportedly told

Environmental Protection Agency regulations banning the use of the chemical methyl bromide since 2005 are threatening peach orchards in Louisiana, Watchdog reports. Joe Mitchin’s family-owned business of peach orchards in northern Louisiana is slowly dying off. Orchard owners traditionally use methyl bromide to treat diseased peach trees, but owing to the advent of EPA regulations in 2005, Mitchin has been unable to treat his orchard, leading to a steady decline in production. The destruction of peach trees has forced Mitchin to downsize his company, laying off 40 employees, according to Watchdog. Business expenses are difficult to cover, and so the orchard, which

The effect on the congressional immigration debate after House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s surprising primary loss should not be about whether to have reform, but whether that reform should be about increasing foreign labor or reducing it. Cantor represented the unanimous views of the leadership of both parties, which have only differed in how and how much to increase lifetime immigrants, guest workers and legalizations of unlawful foreign visitors. By stressing the opposite option — reductions in legal immigration — during his campaign against Cantor, victorious economics professor Dave Brat has suddenly given hope to the

Back in 2012, I shared a sadly amusing image about how the modern political process has degenerated into two wolves and a sheep voting what to have for lunch. I was making an argument in that column against majoritarianism (and that is a critical issue, as explained in this video), but there’s also a very mportant moral component to this debate. Walter Williams addresses this issue in his latest column. He starts by asking a hypothetical question. Suppose I saw a homeless, hungry elderly woman huddled on a heating grate in the dead of winter. To help the woman, I ask somebody for
