A World Health Organization official on Thursday urged millions of Muslims making the pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, to exercise basic hygiene as mass gatherings pose risks of spreading the Middle East respiratory syndrome. The U.N. agency has recorded 827 cases of MERS and 287 deaths, mostly in Saudi Arabia. The virus is believed primarily acquired through contact with camels and spread among humans through body fluids and droplets. Hand washing and keeping away from coughing people are simple ways to prevent the virus´ spread, said Mark Jacobs, WHO Western Pacific region director for communicable diseases. During the Illegal Alien Rally in front of the White House, Dan Joseph begins asking organizers and activists about whether they “actually” support breaking the law. With simple and direct questions Dan gets the rally participants to admit on camera they support and indeed advocate for all south American countries to violate the U.S. border. Then the rally organizers realize what’s going on – they do not want the truth of their motivation exposed to sunlight. Consequently they begin to follow Dan Joseph around pulling people away from his interviews. Must watch video:

National conservative election integrity organization True The Vote has asked a federal judge to issue a restraining order against the Mississippi Republican Party, alleging that the state GOP may be engaged in the destruction of evidence of alleged voter fraud from the June 24 GOP primary runoff. “Defendant county commissioners have continued to violate federal law by preventing access to election records. Now, we think we know why,” True The Vote founder Catherine Engelbrecht said in a statement. “If the affidavits we now have regarding the destruction of election documents and other similarly stunning findings are true, then no Mississippian, no

Up to 20 people have been killed in air raids on Gaza, Palestinian officials say, as Israel continued its current offensive. The Palestinian health ministry said most died in attacks on a house and a cafe in Khan Younis in the south, bringing the overall death toll to 80. Militants in Gaza continued firing rockets into Israel on Thursday, with sirens sounding over southern towns. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon warned the situation was "on a knife-edge". WASHINGTON -- Well-trained attackers executed the deadly dawn assault on a CIA complex in Benghazi, Libya, suggesting different perpetrators from those who penetrated the U.S. diplomatic mission the previous night, according to newly revealed testimony from top military commanders. The initial attack, on Sept. 11, 2012, killed U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and communications specialist Sean Smith and set the mission ablaze. Nearly eight hours later at the CIA complex nearby, two more Americans, contract security officers Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, died in a mortar attack that showed clear military training, retired Gen. Carter Ham told Congress in closed-door testimony earlier

Alix Catherine Tichelman fancied herself a woman of many talents: model, makeup artist, writer, poet, hustler and exotic dancer. Police say she deserves another moniker: murderess. Prosecutors charged Tichelman, 26, of Atlanta, with manslaughter Wednesday for allegedly injecting high profile Google executive Forrest Tim Hayes with heroin and then standing by as he overdosed and died Nov. 23 on his 50-foot yacht, Escape, in the Santa Cruz, Calif., harbor. Tichelman, who allegedly worked as a call girl, had an "ongoing prostitution relationship" with Hayes, who was married and a father of five, police said.

The 26-year-old veteran of two tours in Afghanistan was finally able to tell his story to a judge, after his case had been delayed by both Mexico´s unpredictable legal system and his own trouble settling on a lawyer. It was not immediately clear what Tahmooressi said at the evidentiary hearing, which was closed to the public. The next hearing in the case is

President Obama was 500 miles from the Mexican border when he spoke about the child migrant crisis Wednesday evening, but he seemed to be even farther away than that. Standing before an oddly non-descript background in Dallas (really, the president could have been anywhere), Obama kept his distance—from the border, from the thousands of refugee children in bureaucratic limbo there, and from a Congress, he told the public, that bears the brunt of the responsibility for solving the problem. It was a president who, while bitterly complaining about the partisan divide in Washington, seemed more boxed in by it than ever, taking

AMID THE sound and fury that greeted the Supreme Court’s ruling in the Hobby Lobby case, many liberals had sharp words for the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the federal law in which the court’s decision was grounded. The left-wing Center for American Progress urged Congress to weaken the law’s protections, and the New York Times editorial blog pointedly reminded voters that “acts of Congress can be overturned or changed if the right lawmakers are in place.” The Freedom From Religion Foundation placed full-page ads insisting that “Congress must repeal RFRA.” Hillary Clinton fed the bonfire, telling an audience in Aspen, Colo.,

Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee in 2008, is advocating the impeachment of President Barack Obama. “It’s time to impeach,” she wrote, “and on behalf of American workers and legal immigrants of all backgrounds, we should vehemently oppose any politician on the left or right who would hesitate in voting for articles of impeachment.” I am a pretty fierce critic of the president myself, but let me be among the first to say that Republicans would be insane to follow Ms. Palin’s counsel. In assessing the future of politics, former Obama campaign manager David Plouffe offered an eye-catching prediction in The Wall Street Journal´s op-ed page Monday: The Republican strongholds of Arizona, Georgia, and, yes, Texas, are poised to become swing states over the next couple of decades. His projection shouldn´t be too surprising: When looking at the booming minority growth across the country, it´s easy to see how the political composition of certain states can change dramatically, even in once-partisan strongholds. But it´s also worth taking a closer look at what´s currently happening in those three states, through the prism of the

How a campaign move on immigration

The border crisis is forcing President Obama to pay the price for a re-election move he made two years ago. At the time, Obama was hoping to energize Latino voters who were disappointed that he had raised deportations to record levels in an attempt to build credibility with Republican lawmakers for an eventual deal on immigration reform. So in June 2012, Obama announced a half-measure he would take on his own. Through an executive order, Obama allowed hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants who came before the age of 16 to remain in the U.S. As a campaign tactic, it was a

Subjects include the everyday people who crossed paths with the hijackers on Sept. 10 – a waitress, a motel desk clerk, and the airline worker who checked them onto the plane. The thesis of the show is that America changed forever,

President Obama’s ultimate weakness may be that he believes his own blarney. A year ago, Mr. Obama boasted in a “fireside” Web chat that his “is the most transparent administration in history.” There was not the slightest hint of irony. He may actually believe it. But three-dozen organizations representing newspapermen and other journalists, mostly liberals, beg to differ. In a testy letter to the president on Tuesday, the group decried the “slick non-answers” and cold shoulders they’re getting from Mr. Obama’s representatives, who have restricted access to any information they consider embarrassing to the administration. “The stifling of free expression,” the signers

How much better this city would be if we didn’t indulge our vandals by calling them artists. As in “graffiti artist.” The last few days have given us a fresh reminder. Just before the holiday weekend, the body of 42-year-old Jason Wulf — known by the tag DG — was found along the tracks at a Brooklyn subway station. Apparently he’d touched the third rail. Upon news of his death, friends began paying homage by heading to the same station to spray-paint his tag all over the walls. When cops chased them away, they headed to other subway stations. For many, it is difficult to decide whether Barack Obama is intentionally trying to destroy the United States or that he is doing so as a consequence of some type of ideology-induced stupidity. The damage wrought through the implementation of his absurd and impractical liberal “solutions” to national problems is readily evident. When Barack Obama was inaugurated on January 20, 2009 the national debt of the United States was $10,626,877,048,913. As of Jun 26, 2014, the debt was $17,512,592,730,102. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), in 2007 on the eve of the recession, there were 146.6 million Americans working. Today, after

Imagine that it is 1937 and time for the first Social Security payroll taxes to be assessed on workers and their employers. Two years earlier, President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s new program was successfully sold to the American public as an ambitious yet fiscally responsible, self-financing expansion of social insurance protections. The new Federal Insurance Contributions Act tax—a payroll tax of 2 percent on earnings—will pay for it. Imagine further, however, that upon 1937’s arrival, FDR and Congress decide they don’t want to risk the problematic politics associated with imposing the payroll tax. And so, despite previous assurances of fiscal rectitude,
