MURRIETA -- As the border crisis continues, the Department of Defense is requesting that additional military bases make housing facilities and land available to accommodate a continued influx of illegal alien children. According to information provided exclusively to Breitbart through a source requesting anonymity, Major General John T. Winters has specifically requested installation support for the Department of Homeland Security to provide temporary housing to unaccompanied alien children. The request requires bases to report any facilities across the U.S. that meet the following minimum specifications: a 24,000 square foot building, 15 acres of land "level and clear," and access to

HOUSTON, Texas--Breitbart Texas has learned that hospitals based in Southern Texas are being utilized to evaluate and treat illegal immigrants before they are sent to housing facilities around the country. The revelation could help justify claims that the tidal wave of Central Americans entering the U.S. illegally each day will clog up U.S. hospitals. Margaret Althoff-Olivas, Director of Public Affairs for University Medical Center (UMC) of El Paso, told Breitbart Texas, "The U.S. Border Patrol (BP) has established a rotating schedule for area hospitals to medically evaluate detainees associated with the recent influx of Central American immigrants. According to the BP,

Tom Bevan, the co-founder of RealClearPolitics.com, is calling Mayor Rahm Emanuel´s Chicago a "war zone." Bevan, a Chicago resident and host of a local weekend radio show, noted in a July 8 post that even as Chicagoans have become used to daily killings and shootings in the city, the toll of violence that occurred over the long Independence Day holiday was "jaw-dropping." Between Thursday, July 3 and the early hours of Monday, July 7, Chicago was beset with a whopping 82 shootings during which 14 were killed. Bevan goes on to report the stuttering shock coming from the Chicago Police Department´s brass and

Obama touts ´pretty smart policies´

President Obama bragged the nation was "better off now than we were five years ago" while touting the economic recovery in a campaign-style speech on Wednesday in Denver, arguing administration officials have made some "pretty smart policies." "The decisions we made early on not only stopped the slide, but they built a new foundation for our economy, and they´re paying off," Obama proudly declared during an economic speech intended to rally a reticent Democratic base. The president has seen his popularity fade in his second term, besieged by crises abroad and controversies over mismanagement at federal agencies like the VA and

In an interview the other day, I was asked what the president might’ve been thinking when he instigated the chaos on our borders with his talk of pen-and-phone amnesty. Half a dozen things went through my mind. Maybe he’s trying some sort of Cloward-Piven maneuver: an attempt to overwhelm our welfare state to the point where we replace it with “a guaranteed annual income and thus an end to poverty.” Or maybe he’s just trying to flood the population with Democrat voters. Or maybe he feels America stole its southland from Hispanic people anyway and it’s up to him to

After delivering a statement about his administration’s plans to deal with the current crisis at America’s border with Mexico Wednesday afternoon, President Barack Obama addressed for the first time the mounting criticism over his decision not to visit to border on his trip to Texas this week. In answering a reporter’s question on the controversy, Obama defended his decision by saying he was more interested in a substantive solution to the problem than a simple “photo-op.” The president explained that his Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson will be making his sixth trip to the border this week and briefs him

MSNBC host Michael Eric Dyson on Wednesday lashed out at Sarah Palin, accusing the conservative of committing "treason" against Barack Obama by calling for the President´s impeachment. The guest host of the Ed Show first praised the President for "his tireless effort to help [illegal children who have crossed the border]." Dyson then fumed, "The President´s push towards positive and crucial change was met with treasonous accusations." [See video below. Whole Foods isn’t dropping contraception coverage for employees but nevertheless, it’s facing a Hobby Lobby backlash. The letter asks Whole Foods, which carries more than 2,000 Eden Foods products, to stand up against companies like Eden who are fighting to deny their employees basic health care. “While individual-level boycotting of Eden Foods may not have

Skitter, scamper, scuttle. That seems to be the mode of the Obama administration of late. Skitter away from your red line in Syria. Scamper off to a meeting you´d previously nixed with Texas Gov. Rick Perry. Scuttle as much as the Constitution as you can, at least until you get called on it by 9-0 majorities in the Supreme Court, as the justices did on recess appointments, warrantless cellphone searches and $75,000 a day fines for disturbing supposed wetlands. It’s not a very effective way to make public policy and it tends to put you in an embarrassing public posture.

Lately there has been a lot of buzz about having Mitt Romney as the GOP nominee in 2016. And there can be little doubt that many things Mitt talked about from 2007 to 2012 have come true (crumbling of Iraq, Putin being our number one geo-political foe, Obamacare not being workable). And while there was no bigger supporter of Mitt Romney than I was (for the record I was a member of a group called Evangelical Christians for Mitt Romney and I also managed several precincts in Shenandoah County Virginia for the Romney campaign during the 2012 primary) the fact

This is odd. In an appearance on CNN addressing the crisis at the southern border, CNN contributor and The Daily Beast columnist was asked about the “optics” of the president failing to go to the border to see the situation with his own eyes. While Kohn said that she would go to the border in between Democratic fundraisers if she were the president, but simultaneously suggested that to demand he do so – an increasingly frequent phenomenon on the left – represents a double standard. That was not, however, the oddest of odd moments which occurred in this short segment. Seconds later,

Taylor also claimed that Lerner “did not think it was required,” despite clear instructions for employees on the IRS website. But now the story is changing.
