Doctor Speaks Out Against Feds
Silencing Medical Staff on Border

HOUSTON, Texas--Early in July it was revealed that doctors and nurses were allegedly threatened with arrest if they disclosed any information about the diseases discovered in federal housing facilities for illegal immigrants. Many on the left have claimed that by speaking out about their work at the facilities, medical personnel would be violating the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which "protects the privacy of individually identifiable health information." But Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet--an experienced physician and nationally recognized speaker--told Breitbart Texas that under the law nurses and doctors are free to speak out. "It is not a violation

Considering the sundry enthusiasms upon which government at all level spends our money — Harry Reid’s bovine literary interests, helping out those poor struggling people who own Boeing — it is remarkable that the job of apprehending a known felon, once deported from the United States and illegally present in Texas, fell to volunteers in Brooks County, near the Mexican border. Brooks County, like many other border areas, is overrun with illegal immigrants, and the cost of burying those illegals who die in transit, which can run into the six figures annually, has forced the county to cut back on

John Kelly, commander of U.S. Southern Command, has asked Congress this year for more money, drones and ships for his mission – a request unlikely to be met. Since October, an influx of nearly 100,000 migrants has made the dangerous journey north from Latin America to the United States border. Most are children, and three-quarters of the unaccompanied minors have

Texas Gov. Rick Perry has some nerve. He had the gall to assert in an appearance on ABC’s This Week that the virtual refugee crisis on America’s southern border is not simply a legal problem but a problem of border security. Moreover, Perry seemed to be getting the tinfoil hat treatment when he stood by his claim that the White House doesn’t seem to mind this crisis all that much. Perry began his contentious interview about border security with ABC’s Martha Raddatz by outlining the multiple petitions he sent Washington seeking redress for the issue of unaccompanied minors crossing the

BAGHDAD: The jihadists who overran Mosul last month have demolished ancient shrines and mosques in and around the historic northern Iraqi city, residents and social media posts said on Saturday. At least four shrines to Sunni Arab or sufi figures have been demolished, while six Shia mosques, or husseiniyahs, have also been destroyed, across militant-held parts of northern Nineveh province, of which Mosul is the capital. Pictures posted on the internet by the Islamic State (IS) jihadist group showed the Sunni and sufi shrines were demolished by bulldozers, while the Shia mosques and shrines were all destroyed by explosives. Department of Homeland Security secretary Jeh Johnson expressed optimism Sunday that the influx of illegal immigration from Central America could be slowed, but repeatedly dodged questions about how the Obama administration would resolve the status of the immigrants who have already arrived. "I believe we´re going to stem this tide," Johnson stated in an appearance on NBC´s "Meet the Press." "We´re doing a number of things to do that right now," he said, citing the reduced time to deportation for adults and families apprehended crossing the border illegally. Johnson also warned that "there are no free passes once you get

June, also known as LGBT Pride Month, was busy for President Barack Obama. First, there was the announcement that he’d be signing an executive order barring federal contractors from discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. Then there were the sanctions against Uganda for the country’s anti-gay laws. Then there was the extension of marriage benefits to same-sex couples who live in states that don’t recognize their unions. And to cap it all off, at a White House Pride Month celebration on the last night of June, Obama announced he’d be taking yet another step for equality

Cuellar and Long discussed the influx of unattended immigrants, the legislation behind human trafficking, and the conditions of the facilities used to house immigrants. On the topic of President Obama’s upcoming trip to Texas this week, Rep. Cuellar commented on POTUS’s decision not to visit the border, “…it would be nice for him to come down to the border. Along with piteous pictures of children flooding across our borders and being distributed across the country courtesy of US taxpayers come disease vectors. Maybe flying them around to various parts of the country isn’t the smartest idea. NBC News reports: A border patrol agent was diagnosed with scabies after processing undocumented immigrants in Otay Mesa, California, the agent´s union representative said. Ronald Zermeno, health and safety director for the National Border Control Council union, said the agent told him that he observed several people with open sores while screening them in preparation to be released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The report that President Obama has promised Senator Elizabeth Warren “complete support” if she runs for president has the ring of truth. We read it in the New York Post under the byline of Edward Klein, author of the number one New York Times bestseller “Blood Feud,” about the relations between the Clintons and the Obamas. He calls the promise the President has made to Senator Warren “a stinging rebuke to his nemesis Hillary Clinton.” Our interest in a Warren campaign has to do with the opening it would present to address what we see as the most important issue

The burning question of our day: If America is truly the hated place Barack Hussein Obama has worked to make it for five and a half interminably long years, then why are tens of thousands of Central Americans flooding its southern borders? The rush on the border that’s shoving Kim Kardashian ‘entertainment news’ to the back seat will eventually fail. It will fail because it’s being staged, and its architects are running out of ways to keep stirring the pot. ‘Someone’ who let loose a non-existent genie from a non-existent bottle that children traveling alone to the U.S.A. will never be

The American CNN TV channel has revealed a shocking lack of geographical knowledge. A CNN report about self-defense fighters´ pullout from the towns of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk in southeastern Ukraine carried a map locating Slavyansk in the western part of Crimea. Covering Ukrainian troops´ seizure of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, both situating in Ukraine´s southeast Donetsk region, the CNN mislocated Slavyansk, "moving" it to Crimea which has recently become part of Russia. Similar blunders echo the latest remark by Stephen Colbert, the host of the popular Colbert Report satirical show, who said, citing a Washington Post poll,

President Barack Obama is said to have begun quietly backing Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren as a potential successor in what would be a snub to his one-time rival and later Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The president has remained publicly mum about who he would back in the 2016 race for the White House, but reportedly he has expressed concern that Ms Clinton - who has long been the unofficial frontrunner for the Democratic nomination - would undo many of his policies. Senator Warren, a former Harvard law professor and administration aide, could energize the left wing of the Democrat

SEARCHLIGHT, Nev. — Harry Reid grew up in a shack in this dusty old gold-mining outpost in the middle of the desert. As he rose to political power, he amassed personal wealth and began living part time in a condo in Washington. But he never stopped holding tightly to a gritty public persona grounded in his Searchlight roots — building a house here and keeping the town his official residence. Along the way, a tiny town that thrived only briefly during a gold rush more than a century ago gained bragging rights as home to the most powerful man in

Many people are wondering why Republicans are not doing more to stop the Illegal Alien influx, and more specifically not stop President Obama’s approach. Tom Donohue is the President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the CoC. The CoC wants amnesty legislation, the CoC is also the primary source of campaign funding for the following Republicans: Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Rob Portman (R-OH), Bob Corker (R-TN),

The Supreme Court led by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. showed again this year that it is playing a long game, writing opinions that move the law in small but steady steps in a conservative direction. At first glance, many of its decisions appear modest, and the justices themselves downplayed them as narrow and tightly targeted. But they also set the stage for broader rulings, and liberals voiced concern about their long-term impact. Many rely on well-established rights, such as freedom of speech and free exercise of religion, but extend those rights for the first time to corporations, wealthy donors and

Bias: You´d think that a government audit showing how ObamaCare couldn´t tell whether millions of enrollees were eligible for the subsidies they´re getting would be front-page news. Instead, the press hid it from view. If you wanted to read in the New York Times about these findings — which detailed rampant problems verifying eligibility and income information from millions of ObamaCare applicants — you had to dig 17 pages into the news section. In the Washington Post, the story was on page 11, after stop-the-press-stories like a change in House travel reporting rules and a puff piece on the new VA administrator.

Texas Governor Rick Perry and a key U.S. lawmaker renewed Republican calls on Thursday for National Guard troops to be sent to the U.S.-Mexico border to help stem a surge of Central American nationals entering the United States illegally. He said Texas expects to spend an extra $1.3 million a week through the end of the year
