Just when you thought Obamacare couldn’t get any worse, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reported on Tuesday that the equivalent of 2.5 million jobs will be lost due to Obamacare. We can’t afford to lose any more jobs. These numbers are calculated according to how many work hours the CBO estimates will be lost in the coming decade. Reuters reports, “In its latest U.S. fiscal outlook, the nonpartisan CBO said the health law would lead some workers, particularly those with lower incomes, to limit their hours to avoid losing federal subsidies that Obamacare provides to help pay for health insurance

Immigration: John Boehner´s reform "standards" are backfiring, perhaps putting his speakership in peril. Democrats will compare his "path to noncitizenship" to Jim Crow. The immigration reform hard sell is on. Boehner may appear to have dropped the issue for now, but a Silicon Valley-backed group launched a slick $750,000 TV ad campaign claiming that "House Republicans have a conservative solution to fix our broken immigration system" with "No Amnesty." In calling for "people who are living and working here illegally to come forward and get right with the law," the "standards for immigration reform" put forth by House Republican leaders offer a

Foreign Policy: President Obama´s "smart" diplomacy was supposed to bring the world back to our side after eight years of George W. Bush´s cowboy diplomacy. Instead, it has brought ineptitude and cronyism. ´America is back," the president crowed in his 2012 State of the Union speech. Based on what he had gleaned from world leaders, "opinions of America are higher than they´ve been in years." Two years later, such braggadocio sounds ridiculous. Indeed, the State Department under Obama is turning into a global laughingstock as he puts forward a series of incompetent political cronies for key diplomatic posts, showing disrespect for allies

(Israel) The Australian Woodside Petroleum company signed a $2.5 billion deal to enter the Leviathan gas field in offshore Israel. The owners of Leviathan were in Australia this week to try to finalize a year-old non-binding deal, worth up to $2.3 billion, The Australian daily reported. Woodside will pay more than it had originally offered to enter the gas field because its owners want to pipe much of the gas to Turkey and other regional countries. Pipeline exports to Turkey require less development spending, which would increase the value of the gasfield.

“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg said that the show likely brought on conservative women as guests this week to bolster ratings — an indirect admission she made while decrying the move. First up was Glenn Beck’s cable network producer Dana Loesch, who appeared on the ABC morning show on Monday. On Tuesday, it was Mary Katharine Ham, from HotAir, Breitbart reported. After actress Elizabeth Perkins expressed her dismay on Twitter by Miss Loesch’s appearance, Miss Goldberg agreed and pointed to ratings. Miss Perkins tweeted, “I’m very surprised by The View booking Dana Loesch.

Charlie Crist, the former Republican governor of Florida now seeking his old seat as a Democrat, has received the worst type of attention at the start of his campaign: a jilted former fundraiser testifying under oath that judicial nominations were up for sale on Mr. Crist’s watch. The testimony this week by Scott Rothstein, a onetime Crist fundraiser and prominent lawyer convicted of running a $1.4 billion Ponzi scheme, stunned court observers across Florida and rocked Mr. Crist’s nascent candidacy to oust Republican incumbent Gov. Rick Scott. Rothstein did not appear in court for several years after his 2010 guilty

President Obama’s second-term effort to get Americans to hate guns has backfired. Not only did firearm sales in 2013 blow out all records, interest in learning more about Second Amendment issues has risen dramatically. This is evidenced by the news that circulation for the magazine “American Rifleman” has broken into the top 25 magazines in the country, according to the Alliance for Audited Media. The magazine, which is published by the National Rifle Association (NRA), surged 29 percent to 2.2 million readers in the second half of 2013 over the same period the previous year. This week, a number of commentators have published articles containing incorrect and irresponsible claims regarding the allegation of Woody Allen’s having sexually abused his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow. As the author of two lengthy, heavily researched and thoroughly fact-checked articles that deal with that allegation—the first published in 1992, when Dylan was seven, and the second last fall, when she was 28—I feel obliged to set the record straight. As such, I have compiled the following list of undeniable facts: 1. Mia never went to the police about the allegation of sexual abuse. Her lawyer told her on August 5,

Eastwood attended a volunteer party on the eve of the PGA Tour event when he noticed tournament director Steve John choking on a piece of cheese. The 83-year-old actor quickly performed the Heimlich maneuver Wednesday night at the Monterey Conference Center. "I was drinking water and eating these little appetizers, threw down a piece of cheese and it just didn´t work," John said Friday. "I was looking at him and couldn´t breathe. He recognized it immediately and saved my life."

Politicians in northern New Jersey have long pushed for a casino at the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford. But New Jersey´s senate president says if gambling is ever expanded beyond Atlantic City, the Meadowlands is no sure bet. Steve Sweeney told the Press of Atlantic City the state could opt for casinos in distressed cities like Camden, Newark or Jersey City instead of at a racetrack. He told the newspaper´s editorial board on Thursday that each of those cities could benefit from a casino. For years, the assumption has been that if New Jersey ever expanded gambling beyond Atlantic City,

BERLIN — Germans were already smarting from revelations that U.S. intelligence listened in on the phone conversations of Chancellor Angela Merkel. Then came Nulandgate. On Thursday, a video was posted on YouTube in which Victoria Nuland, the top U.S. diplomat for Europe, disparagingly dismissed European Union efforts to mediate the ongoing crisis in the Ukraine by bluntly saying, “F--- the E.U.” On Friday, Merkel, through press attache Christiane Wirtz, described the gaffe as “absolutely unacceptable,” and defended the efforts of Catherine Ashton, the E.U.’s foreign policy chief.

It was not as straightforward as I anticipated: The first few times I tried to enter the names and vitals for my wife and children the web site either locked up or otherwise failed to store that information anywhere.

What a coincidence!
