New York Mayor Bill de Blasio emphatically backed New Governor Andrew Cuomo’s controversial remarks that “extreme” conservatives – which he defined as being pro-life, second amendment advocates, or supporters of traditional marriage – “have no place in the state of New York.” “I stand by that 100 percent,” de Blasio told reporters at the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington, D.C. on Thursday. “I agree with Governor Cuomo’s remarks. I interpret his remarks to say that an extremist attitude that continues the reality of violence in our communities or an extremist attitude that denies the rights of women does not

Presidents Day seems to have no equal when when it comes to how the occupants of the White House and vice president´s residence vacation. According to new records obtained by the taxpayer watchdog group Judicial Watch, three separate jaunts taken by President Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, and Vice President Joe Biden during last year´s Presidents Day weekend cost at least $295,437. President Obama will partner with Google for the "first-ever Presidential Hangout Road Trip," Google announced today. "Next Tuesday, at 9pm EST, President Obama will deliver his annual State of the Union address to Congress. Later that week, you´ll have the chance to connect with the President and speak about his administration’s plan in the first-ever Presidential Hangout Road Trip," claims Google in a blog post. But it would appear the "Road Trip" does not require the president to hit the road: On Friday, January 31, President Obama will “travel” the country in a virtual whistlestop tour. He’ll hop into Google+ Hangouts with people

The annual March for Life took place yesterday in our nation’s capital, and MSNBC marked the occasion by inviting a slew of pro-choice guests onto its daytime programming to slime the pro-life movement without giving any pro-lifers a chance to respond. Between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, MSNBC featured six pro-choice guests and zero pro-life guests. During the 11 a.m. hour of MSNBC Live, host Brian Shactman brought on Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, to offer her predictable insight on the march and abortion rights in general. Shactman began by attempting to marginalize the march --

A former high-ranking San Francisco government employee convicted of felony possession of child pornography will continue to receive his government pension because, according to city regulations, evidence of “moral turpitude” is required to revoke a pension yet viewing violent kiddie porn does not qualify as moral turpitude. As reported here in the Tatler, Larry Brinkin, a prominent San Francisco Human Rights Commissioner and nationally known gay rights advocate, was arrested in 2012 for possessing and possibly distributing videos and images of babies being raped by adult men. Because of Brinkin’s “iconic” stature in the community as the person who pioneered

President Obama approaches next Tuesday´s State of the Union address with low job approval ratings over his handling of two issues that voters consider their top priorities, according to a new poll. Fifty-six percent of respondents in the Quinnipiac University survey disapprove of Obama’s handling of the economy, their No. 1 priority. Voters who identified as independent disapproved by 60 percent. Comparably, a narrow majority of those who identified as moderate expressed approval, 48 percent to 47 percent. Not surprisingly, conservatives disapproved by 79 percent to 16 percent, nearly the inverse of liberals, who approved by 71 percent to 23 percent. Health

The U.S. is likely to exhaust its borrowing authority on the earlier side of what Treasury Secretary Jack Lew had estimated, he said in a letter to Congressional leaders on Wednesday. Lew warned in the new letter that Congress will likely need to raise the debt ceiling by late February to avoid a potential default on the country´s obligations. As part of the bill to reopen the government in mid-October, the debt limit was suspended through Feb. 7. The Treasury can use so-called "extraordinary measures" after that point to keep borrowing and paying the nation´s bills for a few weeks thereafter. "While this

Thanks to state law, The Wolf of Wall Street received a 30-percent tax credit from New York State, which means taxpayers paid for $30 million of the movie´s $100 million budget, according to the Manhattan Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan economic research and policy group. Women’s Health Rapid Response Fund accused Republicans of embracing a “revolting anti-choice agenda” for supporting pro-life candidates and organizations. The media and fundraising apparatus of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, is making the most of the 41st anniversary of “Roe v Wade.” They are imploring supporters for donations to “show Boehner that there are consequences for Republicans unrelenting war against women.” Moreover, the fundraising letter cites that Republicans are trying to bring a bill to the house floor that could force rape survivors to face “abortion audits.” Many Republicans, Independents and tea party supporters believe that Democrats and the left conflate women’s rights

Mika Brzezinski tells us that Republicans have “pounced” on the “discrepancies,” and then tosses to NBC News political reporter Kasie Hunt, who immediately brings up what is sure to be the talking point du jour, the “basic narrative.” The basic narrative is correct, you see, even if the details are wrong. In David Remnick’s nearly 17,000-word article in the New Yorker, President Obama spoke about whether the use of drones was radicalizing civilian populations we need to win over: Look, you wrestle with it. And those who have questioned our drone policy are doing exactly what should be done in a democracy—asking some tough questions. The only time I get frustrated is when folks act like it’s not complicated and there aren’t some real tough decisions, and are sanctimonious, as if somehow these aren’t complicated questions. Even if you have, as I do, some sympathy with the point the president is making, this

Marxist leftists have prepared a nightmarish blueprint for American socialism in a new revolutionary "book of imagination." The 281 page manifesto showcases 31 utopian essays written by dangerous criminals, prominent liberals, and self-described communists - all for just $10.11. It imagines a "free" and "enlightened" socialist United States, promoting radical notions such as eliminating prisons and creating mandatory worker-owned businesses. More dangerously, it details "how to get from where we are to where we want to be," and the authors seem
