Obama´s Internal Devaluation
Increases Income Inequality

The Obama Administration’s $5.8 trillion of big government deficit spending has caused the United States to suffer an “internal devaluation,” as American worker wages after inflation were forced down in each of the last five years. American competitiveness increased by over 10% due to worker sacrifices, but all the benefits flowed directly to corporate officers and financial speculators. When the President recently lamented, “The combined trends of increased inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream,” he could count on the unwavering support from Warren Buffett, who was the last year’s biggest dollar gainer with a $12.5

There will be no promotion of gay marriage and mockery of traditional values. Race-baiting will not be a go-to topic. There will be no actors known for contributing to liberal causes. You won´t see Lena Dunham sitting on a toilet eating cake. Matt Damon will be nowhere in sight. Despite all that, Sarah Palin still brought her brand new TV show into the belly of the beast Friday in California. The former Alaska governor will be hosting Amazing America With Sarah Palin on Sportsman Channel starting in April. Echoing past economic promises of “green shoots,” “five million green collar jobs,” and “recovery summer,” President Barack Obama said during his Saturday weekly address that 2014 will be a “year of action” on the economy. “This will be a year of action. I’ll keep doing everything I can to create new jobs and new opportunities for American families – with Congress, on my own, and with everyone willing to play their part,” said Obama. Obama’s latest economic pivot comes on the heels of a dismal Friday jobs report that shows the U.S. labor force participation rate has contracted to its lowest rate

CLIMATE change is real and it is happening very fast. The climate of opinion, that is, regarding the rapidly imploding fantasies of the global warming alarmists. After a decade in which sane commentators have been angered and frustrated by the purblind adherence to the warmist superstition by followers of the Al Gore cult – prominent among them our own esteemed First Minister and President for Life Designate – the whole climate change scam has finally degenerated into a joke, provoking widespread derision. That has not deterred the climate Gnostics, sustained by their mystical insight into inner truths hidden from sceptics (“deniers” in

House Judiciary Committee Bob Goodlatte plans to hold a hearing in the first half of the year to explore online sales tax legislation, advocates say. Proponents of an Internet sales tax bill, such as major retailers, are holding out hope for action in the House in 2014 despite the opposition of many conservatives and the skeptical stance of Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio). Supporters and opponents of online sales tax proposals are focusing their lobbying energy on Goodlatte (R-Va.), who has released a set of seven principles that an online sales tax bill would have to meet in order to be considered by

GOP establishment figure Karl Rove said on Fox News Sunday that the Fort Lee and George Washington Bridge scandal that New Jersey GOP Gov. Chris Christie is facing will end up giving him “street cred” with the Tea Party movement. “There will be reasons why conservatives have disagreements with Chris Christie,” Rove said during a panel discussion with Bob Woodward and Juan Williams about the scandal. I don´t think the Tea Party is going to seize upon Fort Lee and the George Washington Bridge as their defining difference with Christie. In fact, I think he´s handling to this [sic] – being straightforward,

Sam Kolodziej Jr. had a few more people than normal in his pew on Sunday morning. In fact, there were a couple hundred extra members of the faithful inside Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. And they had the Buffalo ‘Mass Mob’ – the latest iteration of Internet flash mobs – to thank. The church on O’Connell Avenue in the Old First Ward was packed with about 300 people for the 10:30 a.m. Mass, with most of the churchgoers drawn as part of an event meant to supply a dose of rejuvenation to some of Buffalo’s Catholic churches. A normal crowd for the Sunday morning Mass is less than 100, the church’s pastor said.

Lone Survivor easily won the weekend box office, raking in a whopping $38.5 million in its first week in wide release. The flick, which is based on a true story about a Navy SEAL team´s mission gone wrong in Afghanistan, earned the second-largest January premiere in history behind Cloverfield´s $40 million in 2008. The Peter Berg directed movie stars Mark Wahlberg and originally bowed in two theaters over Christmas. Disney´s animated Frozen dropped to number two, earning less than half of what Lone Survivor made with $15.1 million, bringing its total gross to $317.7 million. If President Obama wants to reduce income inequality, he should focus less on redistributing income and more on fighting a major cause of modern poverty: the breakdown of the family. A man mostly raised by a single mother and his grandparents who defied the odds to become president of the United States is just the person to take up the cause. "Marriage inequality" should be at the center of any discussion of why some Americans prosper and others don´t. According to Census Bureau information analyzed by the Beverly LaHaye Institute, among families headed by two married parents in 2012, just 7.5%

Check out the clip below and see if you think Tapper was out of line or if the exchange simply reflects the difference between how a civilian feels when watching the film versus how a soldier feels, as Tapper suggests. “One of the emotions I felt while watching was, first of all, the hopelessness of the situation, how horrific it was,” Tapper

Iran would receive the first $550 million installment of a total of $4.2 billion in previously blocked overseas funds on or about February 1, a senior U.S. official said on Sunday. Under a November 24 nuclear agreement, six major powers agreed to give Iran access to $4.2 billion in revenues blocked overseas if it carries out the deal, which offers sanctions relief in exchange for steps to curb the Iranian nuclear program. Some payments are contingent on Iran diluting its stockpile of 20 percent enriched uranium to no more than 5 percent enriched uranium. The U.S. official, who spoke on

So now we know yet another reason why the BBC is so biased in its reporting on climate change: because in 2006 the Labour government effectively paid it to be so. It was a £67,000 grant from the Department for International Development (DFID) which paid for the notorious, secret high-level seminar at which the BBC was persuaded to abandon all pretence at neutrality on the global warming issue. I expect the BBC´s environmental analyst Roger Harrabin just can´t wait to get his teeth into this major scandal. Oh no, wait, I forgot: Harrabin was the seminar´s organiser. (Don´t worry, Rog.

For the last five years, I have waited for the other shoe to drop. In 2008, the American people elected an incompetent and foolish president, Obama. President Obama knew that he could only trust a handcuffed politician and loyalist like Hillary Clinton as secretary of state. He then later appointed the pompous John Kerry to fill this capacity. Yet this “gang that couldn’t shoot straight” was a ticking time bomb. Three strikes and you’re out. Let me list them: Obama: incompetent and disinterested [sic] in policy (president). The indefatigable David Rose of Britain´s Daily Mail, working with British climate blogger Tony Newberry, has today exposed bias in news reporting of climate change of a scale heretofore unknown, even for that never-accurately-covered subject. He reveals that, in a move orchestrated by the BBC itself and a left-wing lobby group, the British government under the Labor Party paid for BBC personnel to be taught the left-wing, pro-alarmist spin on climate issues for the specific purpose of using the "news" as propaganda. The seminar project was run by a BBC "journalist." A single seminar, paid for by British taxpayers, cost 67,000 pounds

In Friday afternoon, over 900 documents from the investigation into the Chris Christie administration´s George Washington Bridge scandal were released. The materials do not appear to contain any evidence directly linking the New Jersey governor to the decision to shut down the two of the bridge´s lanes as an act of political retribution against the mayor of Fort Lee, New Jersey (or, possibly, another political rival). However, they do offer glimpses of the chaos caused by the apparently pointless four-day closures and administration´s attempts to contain the resulting controversy, as well as Christie administration officials´ tendency to use curse words

This afternoon, I entered his tiny waiting room, introduced myself to the young women behind the counter and smiled. The women asked me to fill out several forms, which I did and handed them back.

California produces 82% of the globe´s almonds, harvesting about 800,000 acres of the tree nut across a 400-mile stretch from northern Tehama County to southern Kern County. Fueling the boom is robust foreign demand, particularly from emerging consumer markets like China and India, where the industry has been promoting almonds as a healthful snack. About 70% of California´s almonds are sold overseas. That made the crunchy nut
