WASHINGTON, D.C. -- An emergency injunction granted on New Year´s Eve in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Washington, D.C., Circuit means that Priests for Life in New Dorp will not have to obey the Obamacare contraception mandate during the appeals process. Priests for Life will not have to cancel health insurance for its employees as threated by the Rev. Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life. Fr. Pavone expressed gratitude that his organization does not face steep fines for the mandate which goes into effect on Wednesday as part of the Affordable Care Act. "We would not have

2013 was the year of ObamaCare whoppers. But the nastiest truth about the health law is still to be exposed — the tightening hold the federal government will have over your doctor, even if you´re paying with private insurance. Obama said: "You´re not going to have anybody getting in between you and your doctor in your decision-making." It was a lie from day one, just like the president´s other sales pitches. President Obama´s often-repeated claim that "if you like your health plan, you can keep your health plan" was the obvious whopper of 2013. Over 6 million people have had their plans canceled already.

The New York Times had a reporter talking to attackers on the ground during the Benghazi attacks that killed four Americans in September of 2012, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, and may know the identity of some the murderers and perpetrators. David Kirkpatrick, the Times reporter who wrote the story that forced the paper´s Editorial page editor to defensively declare on Monday that it has not chosen to endorse Hillary Clinton for president in 2016, said that the paper had a reporter on the ground who was witnessing the attacks. That admission is even in Kirpatrick´s story, which, as Breitbart News reported,

Organizing for Action, the community organizing group rebooted from President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign remnants that uses BarackObama.com as its website, has thanked House Budget Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), and other Republicans supporting amnesty for illegal immigrants. In a post published on New Year’s Eve, OFA’s Maria Liebermann listed the Obama campaign remnant’s “13 favorite immigration reform moments of 2013.” The list of chock full of praise for Republicans who have taken the Democratic Party position on amnesty for illegals, like Ryan and McCain.

Vitamin E may slow Alzheimer´s

Researchers say vitamin E might slow the progression of mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s disease — the first time any treatment has been shown to alter the course of dementia at that stage. In a study of more than 600 older veterans, high doses of the vitamin delayed the decline in daily living skills, such as making meals, getting dressed and holding a conversation, by about six months over a two-year period. The benefit was equivalent to keeping one major skill that otherwise would have been lost, such as being able to bathe without help. For some people, that could mean living independently rather than needing a nursing home.

Media Bias: In the season when charity for our fellows should be in our hearts, MSNBC mocks Mitt Romney´s family Christmas photo for prominently featuring his black grandson. The real bigots are on the left. MSNBC talking head Melissa Harris-Perry, whose tastelessness extends to wearing a pair of tampons as earrings on-air in support of abortion rights, hosted a year-end segment on Sunday that soon sank into the gutter. Showing a family photo of the Romneys, with Mitt Romney´s adopted grandchild, who is black, sitting on his granddad´s lap, Harris-Perry and her pack of commentators got nasty immediately.

Several leading counter-terrorism experts fear that the two terror attacks in Volgograd, Russia that killed at least 34 people on Sunday and Monday --and another suicide bombing in nearby Pyatigorsk that killed three people Friday -- are probes in advance of a larger attack against either the Sochi Olympics or Moscow. The experts, from the offices of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington and Moscow, also say that Russia’s security services are ill-prepared to deal with the kind of small-unit operations that produced the bombings, since they have been trained to prevent massive attacks from larger,

A leading Conservative has warned that council taxpayers face rising costs from the influx of Romanian and Bulgarian immigrants set to start tomorrow - and claims that Roma are already causing trouble by begging aggressively and defecating in public. Philippa Roe, leader of Westminster City Council, said that local authorities had ´no idea´ how many Eastern Europeans would come to Britain after immigration restrictions are lifted on January 1. And a police commissioner in the Midlands revealed that more crimes are committed by Romanians than by any other group of foreign nationals in his area even before the rules have changed.

NEW YORK - Planning to use your new Obamacare insurance benefits early in the new year? If you don´t have your brand spanking new ID card, you´d better bring along your wallet. Insurers and health care providers are bracing for some chaos at the start of 2014 when the newly insured begin to use their Obamacare health coverage. Because of the repeated, last-minute deadline extensions, some applicants´ enrollments may be incomplete in insurers´ systems on Jan. 1. This is particularly true of those who wait until after the first of the year to pay. Many insurers are giving consumers until

How much do you need to know about a subject before expressing a strong opinion during a panel on MSNBC? Apparently very little, as Washington Post columnist Jonathan Capehart took part in a Monday afternoon discussion on the future of the Washington Redskins National Football League team since coach Mike Shanahan had just been fired. Kristen Welker -- fill-in host for that weekday´s edition of Andrea Mitchell Reports -- asked: “Are the Redskins stronger moving forward without Shanahan?” Capehart replied: “You’re asking the wrong guy here. I don’t know anything about football.” Instead, he turned to a liberal talking

Appearing on MSNBC on Tuesday, White House health care adviser Phil Schiliro asserted that the White House never had a target number of Affordable Care Act enrollees. The widely circulated figure of 7 million – a figure which has been cited and repeated regularly by the press and members of the administration, was never their number, Schiliro asserted. “That was never our target number,” he insisted. “That was a target that was put out by the Congressional Budget Office and has become the accepted number.” He should have informed Health and Human Services Sec. Kathleen Sebelius of this development.

Happy New Year to Daily Telegraph readers. I am sure 2014 will be a pivotal year in British politics, and I suggest this for a number of reasons. From today 29 million people from Bulgaria and Romania have untrammelled access to Britain and our labour market. We shall learn very soon that our EU membership and adherence to EU free movement means free housing, free healthcare and free access to the British benefits system for every EU citizen who wishes to come here. That´s 365 marathons, or more than 15,000 kilometres. With no day off. About 3pm on Tuesday, barring a catastrophe, they will achieve their goal, jogging triumphantly up St Kilda Road to their starting point, Federation Square.

The Department of Health and Human Services is in mid-victory-lap over its enrollment of an estimated 2.1 million Americans into Obamacare insurance plans, a figure claimed in a blog post Tuesday by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. But as many as half of those customers have yet to make a payment, a new report suggests. The Wall Street Journal interviewed Mark Waterstraat, the chief strategy officer at a firm that processes billings for insurers. He said that only about 50 percent of enrollees in 17 states have paid their bills for the first month´s premium. That statistic, if it were

Hollywood star Brad Pitt’s Hurricane Katrina charity is coming under fire after more than two dozen homes that his organization built are rotting. Homeowners have complained that the wood cannot withstand the humid climate of the city and therefore are rotting and growing fungus. ‘It turned grey and it was also black,’ Make It Right home-owner Nola Verrett told Radar Online. The charity has blamed the wood company TimberSIL for providing the lumber, which is a non-burning
