A married, heterosexual gym teacher at a tony Upper West Side private school was fired because his lesbian supervisor disapproved of his “traditional family status,” the canned teacher claims in a new Manhattan lawsuit. Gregory Kenney, 50, taught gym at the Trinity School on W. 91st St. for 16 years before he was let go in June 2012. Kenney, who lives with his wife and three young children in LI, says he was a well-liked employee at the elite institution that counts Truman Capote, Ivanka Trump and Eric Schneiderman as alumni, until a gay athletic director named Pat Krieger took

The New York Times reports Thursday morning that President Obama will use his pardoning powers to commute the sentences of eight federal inmates convicted of crack cocaine offenses. Each of the inmates has reportedly been imprisoned for at least 15 years, with six of them being sentenced to life terms. This marks the first time Obama has used his powers of constitutional clemency of crack cocaine offenders who’d have seen reduced sentences anyhow under the 2011 law that significantly lowered the sentencing disparity between crack and powder cocaine offenses. “If they had been sentenced under the current law, many of them would

Fisker, whose assets are being bought by a group led by Richard Li, son of Hong Kong’s richest man, is required under an agreement with the U.S. government to make its Karma luxury car in the U.S., Carper, a Delaware Democrat, said Thursday in an interview at Bloomberg’s Washington office. The problem with solutions is that few of them tend to be perfect, even if they act in a mostly benign manner. Actions produce reactions, a principle as true in politics as it is in physics, and those tend to multiply when solutions increase in complexity. The nature of these unintended consequences changes dramatically when complex “solutions” turn out to be poorly designed and incompetently administered. The rollout of the Affordable Care Act has provided many real-world examples of this, but perhaps none so “unintended” as the consequences discovered by the Seattle Times this weekend. On Wednesday, Jonah Goldberg, National Review Online editor-at-large, joined Fox News Channel’s Bill Hemmer to discuss the White House announcing recently that a former Microsoft executive will take over as the person in charge of overseeing repairs to the Affordable Care Act’s federal health insurance exchange website. Goldberg observed that the roll-out of the ACA has been such a failure that, according to polls, even the uninsured are turning on the program. “It’s like people who go to a soup kitchen and they don’t like the soup,” he said. “The problem is that it’s a smart move after a very

Ken “The Hutch” Hutcherson, 61, a former Seattle Seahawk and an outspoken pastor who championed racial equality but opposed gay marriage, died shortly before noon on Wednesday. He had battled prostate cancer for more than a decade. Pastor Hutcherson, who started the Antioch Bible Church in Redmond, was not afraid to take on politically unpopular causes, such as his yearslong battle against same-sex marriage, or institutional inequities, such as the practice by adoption agencies of charging higher fees to adopt white babies. During his life, the husband and father of four was described by supporters as funny, happy and jovial even in the face of cancer, while detractors called him an egotistic bully.

The bird-flipping Goldstein helped break down legal barriers against pornography and raged against politicians, organized religion and anything that even suggested good taste. His angry humor, garish attire, numerous divorces and X-rated mind made him an infamous national figure. A nation founded by pilgrims who came here to worship the God of the Bible freely without interference and persecution from ruling elites and those opposed to Christianity´s influence on the culture, has now come to the proverbial fork in the road. After years of attempting to balance traditional Americana with political correctness, those pushing the new "my way or the highway" definition of "tolerance" have decided accommodating our differences of opinion is defeat. Irrefutable history documents that the Bible and its teachings were the biggest influence on those that founded the freest and most prosperous nation in human history. Yet

The Robertson family lives in Monroe, Louisiana. “Phil Robertson and his family are great citizens of the State of Louisiana. Not so long ago, casually throwing the Knights Templar into polite conversation was a litmus test of mental health. One of Umberto Eco’s characters in Foucault’s Pendulum summed it up perfectly. He declared that you could recognise a lunatic "by the liberties he takes with common sense, by his flashes of inspiration, and by the fact that sooner or later he brings up the Templars". But all good things come to an end. The enigmatic medieval monk-knights are no longer a fringe interest for obsessives. They are now squarely mainstream. And as 18 March 2014 draws closer, Templarmania is going

Duck Dynasty has been sacrificed on the altar of political correctness. By now you probably know that A&E indefinitely suspended Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the Duck Dynasty family, for following the teachings of the Holy Bible. Nothing says tolerance and diversity by silencing the Christians and shoving them in a closet. Between you and me, I think Duck Dynasty ought to indefinitely suspend A&E. Phil ran afoul of intolerant leftwing bullies after making comments about homosexuality to GQ magazine. When the writer asked Phil what he considered to be sinful behavior, he replied:

Kings Park schools officials removed several religious references, including “Holy infant” and “Christ the Savior,” from the popular Christmas carol before a student concert last week, WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs reported. The intent was not to offend non-Christians, but the change upset others. (Snip) The school superintendent and principal of the Ralph J. Osgood Intermediate School have since apologized.
